Two ancient vampires reside in a cottage on the outskirts of 60th century New York City. Aeron, Despoena's sire, returns and kidnaps her. Firefly, swamped with grief, goes in search of her android father, only to find that he'd been killed by Aeron. Firefly is devastated, and withdraws from the world until someone wakes her and tells of Despoena's dangers.
