After surviving the miserable events in NYC and defeating his addiction to the drug "Valkyr", former homicide detective Max Payne is transfered to the Chicago Police Department. An attempt to escape his dreadful past to enter a new life as a police operative of Illinois State.

Insisting to support the department during the time of his "off-duty" status, his superior, Detective Roy Coleman, gave him his a task as an advisor for the younger generation of policemen and women and share his experience and knowledge of policework.

Though wanting to keep his past to himself, Max Payne accepted the task and joined up this day with Police Officers Mike Gruver and Vincent Amachino on a somewhat tour through the districts...
