The world has become a society based on wealth and gender. Kikyou Miko is part of the Maliks, or the upper class. She is part of the richest groups and besides that, she is a female meaning she is as high as she can get without being the mysterious Empress herself. When she runs into Inu-Yasha, she finds out that he is so poor, he doesn't even recieve a last name. The ruffian has had to live on his own all his life. They aren't even supposed to be speaking to each other since they have such a large class difference. When Kikyou switches places with another Trink that she finds, can she outsmart the Strafes, defy the laws and overcome the prejudice and hate that dominates the world now? Or will she fail and lose things that matter most to her?
