The Nightborne Master. Once a vampire noble, a vicious creature with enough power to keep the entire world of magic in check has finally fallen. During his reign, he had kept the contact between those of his world, the mythical and magical communities, and those of the ways of science, the humans, vastly limited. He had allowed the hunting of humans as food, as well as some few as slaves, but ultimately, he made sure that those of his world never revealed themselves to those of the ways of science. He had long ago set in place a balance between the two worlds despite his decent into madness and dark power. With his demise however, the balance that kept the world of magic hidden from humans has started to sway. Some small groups of humans have slowly began to find the truth, while some clans of magic began to explore their newfound freedom with the death of the Nightborne Master, the fear of his great power finally starting to wane, no longer keeping them all in check. A mere 20 years after his death, his only heir, a human cursed by the Nightborne Master himself, has finally been found. Knowing nothing of his true origins, the human must learn the ways of the world of magic quickly if he is going to survive. Plans have already been set in motion, and with neither world truly acknowledging the power of the other, change is coming.
