Shinigami and Shamans have never interferred with one another; few Shamans even know about Shinigami. But, with both Shinigami and Shamans both working to keep spirits safe and help them pass on, shouldn't they meet? Shinigami aren't supposed to interfer with human affairs, even those of Shamans.
They're about to make an exception: because Yoh was one of their own, even if he had hung up his Captain's haori several years before, even if he wants to forget about Soul Society, even if he has enough to worry about with his twin brother, Hao Asakura, trying to wipe out humanity. They're going to interfer to save Yoh and his friends from something the likes of which the world has never known.
The Shaman Fight is post-poned. Hollows run rampant. Oni run the street. Shamans, good and evil, must unite with Shinigami to save us all.
