Okay, the chapter was awesome, as always. But, I gotta tell ya, the part that stuck with me was the trip to the toy store and the image of Evan on the big ball. The line “How `bout it, baby? Wanna take a ride on my ball?” …well, I guess I’m a little Hentai cuz, well, I got…images! **cracks up laughing** There’s actually a pic I wanna show you in the forum that came to mind of him testing toys. But, I love his inner child that is a great contrast to his cynical-ness. And V may argue about his perceived lack of maturity, but he tickles her a lot, I gather! Evan has a death wish, huh? No wonder Bas pulls no punches! NEVER kiss the Kitty! BUWAHAHAHAHAHA!! I can see Evan as a teen sparing—irritating and bating—Bas with his speed and witty repartee. Bring Purity 5 back to mind. NEwho, poor V, human she is, to witness this and hold back—though the part about the voice telling her it’s okay made me wonder if that’s a part of the mate bond…I wonder…—and you know you’re oogling him some, too, V! Admit it! And then Gin comes out…Oh, HELP me, I laughed at V’s inner thoughts! HAHAHAH! I love seeing a human’s outlook on youkai/hanyou sparring! So damned FUNNY! So, Evan had THOSE thoughts as a child, huh? No wonder he dislikes Cain so much. It’s not a hate thing, I see, but a protective gesture when he bad mouths his Dad and brother and it’s basically like testing the limits of love by how much they accept his bad behavior, or at least that’s the vibe I’m getting. V really cares about him, I see, in her claims to the contrary. Love the bushes question—never read it enough!—and it was a really good comeback, I’ve gotta say. And I LOVE it when she makes a big hot water bottle out of him! So cute! | Title:

I guess I was all into the family bliss and hug moments so I was knocked sideways a bit by Bas’ investigaton. Poor V, when she finds out about her father, what’ll she do? I hope she gets to see him before it’s too late as closure is a good thing for both parents and child, I’d imagine. That was a deep and sad fact I just learned about the nature of organ donation. I guess I get it, but it still seems sad. I could see the person who wrecked their body not getting high priority but no chance at ALL? Well, hell…yeah, that took up most of my thoughts on this chapter, though I DID get a kick out of V and Evan dancing together, a later. | Title:

Or, at least he seems to make a mean cookie! That scene with him and Gin baking immediately popped in my head and held for a while as imagined him as a itty bitty kindergartener, assisting Gin in baking. So cute! The hominess of this and the last few chapters have me all warm and squishy inside. You type family contentment so well, Sue. Got me wanting to join in and snatch a cookie or 4 (for shame, ne?)…then I remind myself this is fiction, kick a rock, and read more of the chapter. So, the report he has with Livvy’s just plain adorable—can’t WAIT to see him as a Daddy! The satirical rewrites of his crack me up—Slient Night’ll never be the same! Evan’s uncertainty oddly makes me like him more—not too cocky to admit a challenge with women or his lack of advancement in his dealings with V. I love how V has him in check in everyone’s eyes and I just KNEW Cain was gonna say that—“I really like that girl”—soon. **chortles** | Title: Chapter 118: LOVE stories about Evan as a kid!

The fact that he was a whiner…why does that sound just right? I can just imagine him practically scratching at his parents’ door to be let back in and Gin trying to make Cain relent. KAWAII!!!! The back and forth comments in that vein, between Bas, Cain—with comments from Gin added in—tickled me so much! He’s such a Mama’s boy! I LOVE it! I know V got a kick out of that, too…and all the stories mentioned—Bailey getting drunk was one of my personal faves! I LOVE the names you make up for the futuristic technology, too! My favorite is the identilock and the Chrysalis car…and the newest, the Rhistar portable video game player! Loving the unconscious—or, is it—cuddle time V allows Evan in this chapter, even if it IS just for show. And this line: “You hide things almost as well as I do,” she ventured at last, “just not for the same reasons.” Really made my heart clutch. Evan’s really scared to be hurt and/or left alone, it seems. I think it’s why his rock star persona is so important to him—the rich, famous and and outrageous KEEP company, ne? Evan and Valerie are both going to get lovesick from this, I know it. If She does end up going with marrying Marvin, you can technically get an annulment within the first year of marriage without having to deal with a lot of the major divorce issues... That is, if things go that far into the land of De-Nial. I also hope that things won't end up getting into the realm of needing an intervention. Okay I'm really disappointed in Valerie and her answer to why she kissed Evan during New Year's. Hopefully Valerie will see how much Evan means to her during his absence. I really hope that she can come to terms on what she wants and what her feelings mean because if she can't then she has to let Evan go. You can't have both guys. ::sighs:: Please god bless both of them. Thank you Sue for this wonderful and yet highly frustrating chapter. This story is by far my favorite one of all the Purities in terms of structure and badass-ness. hEVAN is a lot more complicated and accepting than anyone else I know, especially when it came to Kurt. He just has the boldest, most daring feeling about him, but he's careful and... I know he wouldn't like this...sweet :). Valerie is definitely the best medicine for him. Thanks for writing something this great. I have no grumbles about how long it is either. In fact, the length makes it all the more likeable. WOW... hm. This seems like its headed in the remote direction of Gin and Cain's encounter when it came to mates. I just hope it doesn't get that extreme, I hope that Valerie gets her thoughts straight before it's possibly too late. What's V going to do without Evan if he goes away, especially without telling her? Hm. In a way, I think him leaving is a good idea so he'll just have time to embrace all the emotions that he's been keeping to himself but at the same time I'm worried about him thinking that he needs to leave her behind and stop trying to convince her. Keep it together, Evan. I know you're strong enough to do that... at least for a little while longer. Oh, what a pickle...a sour one indeed. Well, I am absolutely LOVING this progression. It's so capitvating and engaging. I swear I'm always left on the edge of my seat when I read the chapters. And while I say this every time, Keep up the marvelous work! What exactly is sir Marvin hiding...? I wonder... Hm. Great turnaround with V though. I like seeing her start to question things about her relationship with that dud. Bravo! It's too cute to see Evan all butthurt about him being back and it's also cute to see how overprotective he is over all the women in his life. I love that quality in him. So alluring. Good stuff! I can Marvin's drive and ambition in wanting to help those with terminal diseases but the fact that he continuously ignores Valerie's needs and wants isn't okay. I mean there is such a thing called balance. I just want Evan and Valerie to be together. lol.
