Really like this one. Never seen a scenario quite like this one done before. Usually Kagome'll come to the conclusion that she has to stop school and Mrs. Higurashi is usually okay with it, supporting Kagome's decision to follow her heart, but this is the first time that I can recall that it was actually Mrs. Higurashi's idea, and her talking to Kagome like that knowing full well that Inuyasha was listening in was definitely original as far as I know. It's very true, of course; most of us just write it that she has to finish school for her 'honor' but we all know there's really no logical point in her continuing school if the goal is to live with Inuyasha in the past. Besides that part, I also like how you had Mrs. Higurashi get Kagome to see that Inuyasha could be with Kikyou if he so chose, because Kikyou can also sense the shards, and that he was choosing to stay by her. While I've seen that point made before, again, not the way you did it with Kagome's mom being the one to make the point. Excellent job! :-) |
