This is possibly the best example of the great, epic fanfic. The story idea is so original, and so well told, that your talent shines through with every additional chapter. I have followed this story for longer than I can remember, and the structure and style of your writing has surpassed any professional authors I have ever read. This fic has brought out such beautiful story arcs as to almost provoke genuine emotion. "Lucky Number 13" represents the pinnacle of serialized writing. Also: CLAPCLAP RITE MORE!!!111!

This is the best Link fic on the net! I've looked, and none are the length, nor the quality. Mr. E, you have quite possibly made the greatest fic ever!

I am eager to see what happens next... i feel like im in the middle of my favorite novel and i lost the book while reading it... and each time i find it and read another chapter i lose it again. This story is exactly what i thought would happen to link and fits perfectly to his personality.. and even i would feel the same way if i was to experience the things he had first hand. superb job and i still think that this is better than most novels i have read and think that if you keep as you are going the rest will come and i look foreward to a new chapters when you have them ready ^^. I hope that any writers block you have passes and you can get the rest of the story out soon. and i hope you are haveing as much fun writeing it as i have been reading it... i think ive reread the whole story at least ten times ^^.

Bravo! You've spun one hell of an epic here. I have been a diehard Zelda fan since the first game and I found this to be a spectacular take on Link's personality and problems. Considering the game parameters of the story canon, (bigger kills = more power > leads to > bigger enemies > bigger kills = more power > etc…), I DO see how Link would have indeed achieved godhood. In fact, I honestly don't see how it could have been avoided. I also see how he would indeed refuse to give up on his loved ones no matter what they did to him. 'True Love' WAS the reason he kept going, and going, and going… It's game canon. By the way, whether Zelda returned his literally undying affection or not was indeed rather vague in the game. Anyway, whether or not the 'True Love' portrayed in your story is realistically possible for the average human (us readers) is entirely beside the point. 'True Love' on this scale is Game Canon, and Link was Not Human. (Pointed ears anyone?) So quite logically, the type of suffering you've portrayed (repeated betrayal by said loved ones) would be unavoidable, as would Link's repeated forgiveness of those loved ones. Please, tell me you already know how you're going to end it? It doesn't matter if you plan to add a thousand more chapters before you get there, I just need to know that you know how you're going to end it.

It started off as being pretty damn good ... unfortunatly, it sort of went downhill from there. In one way, I was really looking forward to Link, Garudo Warlord ... and then you came down with the entire 'Link the God' thing. As far as interest goes, there went half of mine. Omnipotence, even budding omnipotence, is damn boring. Still, I held on for a few more chapters, right up until 'What's done in the dark ...' where I realized that you really weren't changing anything. Just making things worse. I can't find it in myself to like a story that has its protagonist damn near constantly shat upon and lets people walk over him, where nobody ever 'really' dies (blame Marvel for that one) ... honestly, with the way you're attempting to portray his emotional state and responses, there isn't any reason he wouldn't just cut ties and go 'bye bye, fuck you very much' or go apeshit and start throwing around fire and brimstone like they're going out of style. Sorry, that's just the way I feel about it. From a purely technical standpoint it's a good story, but other than that it makes me want to go out and commit wholesale slaughter. You can only milk the whole 'suffering hero' thing for so much before people wave their hands and go 'meh' while looking for something else to occupy their time with. Which is what I'm off to do right now.

Ah, joy, an update. I really had some fun with this one. The parley between Vic and Link is always my favorite part. I only hope that enough people are still reading to bolster your resolve for the whole "continuing with the updates" thing. Anyway, thanks for the update. Fun times for all!
