This fanfic has a interesting concept. I love the ones that are set in ancient egpyt.
However it has one major flaw. The pointless angst. I don't mind angst when it's well founded, but here the characters are torturing themselves for no good reason.
Why doesn't Yugi just find his family and bring them back to the palace? Or why doesn't Yami track them down for him? He's the goddamned Pharoh for christsake.
The constant will he leave or stay gets old real fast, especially when it's blindingly apprent what the character should do.
The angst here is overblown and incredibly forced. You have a good fic but you need to cut out the melodrama and make the characters act with some intelligence.

Great chapter!! I find it very funny that Yami would blame Bakura for picking a guy who looks like him...ummm HELLO YAMI! Look at Yugi!!! What a hipocrate!! ^_^ But a hot one at that! And I sense an up-coming plot dealing with Yugi and the puzzle. It obviously protects him(from the guards?) and I'm guessing he's gonna somehow end up w/o it someday? Am I right?! Or am I just rambling now? LOL! Oh, and FYI the 'eye' is the Eye of Horus. Ja ne! ^_^v |
