A very nice start. I've always enjoyed stories set in this era, and look forward to a fun, engaging story.
I know the grammar is supposed to be off, so I have no complaints, though I'm not sure if it's supposed to be similar to cockney slang or not. I'm assuming the story is set in London, but the upcoming parts will set me straight.
It ends on a nice cliffhanger that makes me impatient for more. Looks like the story will have lots of conflict and sexual tension, which sounds great to me!
