the spelling is correct, at least to me. in "tetsusaiga", the "u" in silent in the pronouciation since it is right after the "s". (at least thats what a friend told me...) the sango's weapon is the hiraikotsu, i think... |

How to spell that dang sword's name... A complicated answer to an easy question:
First, to me it sounds like "te-sI-ga." When written in episode titles (like #54), the hiragana characters are te-tsu-sa-i-ga. However, the 'tsu' is little, which I think means it's not pronounced, just used to separate the syllables. I think in romanization, you show that by doubling the consonnant, so "tessaiga." But I could be wrong -- my Japanese is lousy, and I've seen both "tetsusaiga" and "tessaiga." |
