To be honest I don't think she is dead, I may be the only one but the way the doctor said either room C or D, as if he were uncertain makes me wonder if it was truely Kagome who died... Regardsless it was a beuatiful chapter, you have no need to apologise over it. Don't feel pressured to update, write when you can because I for one will still be here, regardless and it is my hope that everyone else will be here too. If I were to be honest I would have to admit I am sad to know that you plan to stop writing. However, it is not my place, or anyone elses to tell you otherwise, that is a decision you must make yourself.
