I loved this chapter! I really did not realize that wasn't Inuyasha until Kagome realized!

I'm so glad you updated! I was on edge there for a while hoping that Kagome would see through the illusion in time. I'm glad that Kagome could manage that barrier. I had almost forgotten her power level when I read that part. I hope you update soon. I know that it will be worth whatever wait I must endure!

Awesome update... very, very awesome! Love the action, and had me goin for a sec there when Inu 'supposedly' showed up. Should be interesting on what happens next. So, update when ya can! ;)

Wow. Your story is so interesting and engaging on several levels. I love the characterization, first of all. I saw Jii-chan in a whole new light, other than the senile old man many other authors portray him to be. Probably, I can imagine him to be a Miroku who gave up his womanizing ways. Mama was really greatly portrayed, too. Not just an accommodating woman who Kagome inherited her warm nature from. She had a steely edge to her, which I love. Actually, your story is one of the very few stories where I feel that most, if not all, of the characters were true to their nature, AND the InuKag romance was greatly appreciated. I hope they would find out what happened to Miroku and Sango, maybe - hopefully - getting in touch one last time for a final goodbye. They owe their "family" that much. The plotlines were believable and well constructed and I can't wait for you to continue this story. Let's say I'm looking forward to this A LOT.

I started reading this on ficwad, but gave up when I reached your final chapter on there. So when I saw the title, I jumped with the possibility that there might be more chapters. It turns out that there were, and now I'm stuck waiting again! Please don't make me wait too long! I love how Shippou ends up in modern Tokyo, I had always wondered how the little guy would react to it. he's more confused than InuYasha was XD

I'm delighted to see you continuing this story. I came across it through the IYFG list. I enjoy your excellent characterization, especially with Kagome's uneasiness with the knowledge and powers she's gained and developed with Naraku's final defeat, and her reluctance to take on a role she never chose for herself, but had thrust upon her. Inuyasha's doubts about his acceptance as a member of the family, and approval of his relationship with Kagome, by herself and the other family members adds another interesting aspect to the story. Jiji's a hoot, Souta's being the bratty younger brother =) and your version of Mama Higurashi makes me feel all Warm and Fuzzy. ^_^ The story thread dealing with those left behind in time adds a poignant note, and I hope that more about Miroku's and Sango's fate will be revealed, and that they managed to leave a legacy for Kagome and Inuyasha to find in the future. Any chances of Kirara showing up? The introduction of Soen as antagonist was an interesting idea. Her motives stem from an understandable desire for revenge, while the truly guilty are simply beyond reach, and Japan has changed so completely, that her actions can only lead to disaster, if not stopped. The introduction Yasei was hilarious, he's a great foil for Inuyasha. The visit to the Inari shrine as a whole was a nice touch, with the way Kagome's eyes were opened to new facets of reality she'd never been aware of. I'm hoping that Michiko still has a role to play. Just as interesting a question is how much of the story you'll devote to the repercussions of a major demon rampaging in Tokyo, and how that affects Kagome and her family. Kagome's first exorcism was a great sequence to read, as were the other battle scenes. We've seen the Kitsune and the Tengu, I wonder what other youkai will be coming into the story. I'd be surprised if Sesshoumaru didn't show up at some point. If he didn't, that would make for an interesting plot bunny, with Inuyasha the hanyou, being the last heir of the Lord of the West. ^_^ Whatever standing that gives him in 21st century Japan. =P So, you've left us with quite a cliffy at the end. I fully realise that real like puts constrainst upon your writing time, so I'll just say that I'm really looking foward to the next chapter. Shippou's introduction to the family ought to be interesting, especially the interaction between Souta and the fox, and more interesting perhaps, old Jiji's reaction to _another_ demon on the premises. Time see if the Higurashi shrine has some demon wards we haven't seen yet, and I hope that Kagome gets to put on quite a show of what she learned in the Sengokou Jidai for her family against Soen. Sucessfully, I hope. I wouldn't expect Kagome to defeat Soen on her own, but I feel that having Kagome be able to successfully defend her home and family without Inuyasha's help shows how much she's grown in strength and maturity, avoids another "Male lead rescues the female lead from the antagonist's clutches" trope, plus gives Kagome an excellent position for browbeating Inuyasha over leaving her behind, with the argument "what would have happened if I hadn't fought the demon off?" ^_^ Hope to read more soon. Aagh! I just read your whole story in one sitting, and it ends there?! I sure hope the next chapter will be out soon--I can't wait to find out what happens! You have a good style for writing action, something many authors don't have (or even attempt!), and your story is all the stronger for it. It was such an 'Inuyasha' move to leave Kagome and Shippou where he thought they'd be safe...you'd think he'd know better by now, wouldn't you? I'm also really enjoying the interaction between the two of them. It isn't all happiness and sunshine, even though they haven't had any major disagreements, just the friction that always seems to exist. And this may sound crude, but I'm very glad they didn't just jump into the sack as soon as they figured out they cared for each other--that spells the end of so many stories, not to mention being a bit unrealistic for most relationships (not all, though, I know). The way they're gradually getting closer and getting USED to that closeness is sweet and sincere, and I love it. Thanks for the awesome story so far, and I hope you keep at it!

Wow, Soen is really making a nuisance of herself! I love the irony that for once it was bad idea to leave Kagome behind.
