I do believe I just stumbled upon one of the greatest GW stories ever written. And I didn't even like the 2x5 pairing when I first started reading this! God, just EVERYTHING in this story is amazing. The characterizations of Duo and Wufei, the way you didn't gloss over the fact that these pilots were freakin *killers* and they damn well enjoyed it on a tiny dark level of their soul, and the way Duo wasn't quite sane (and who would be after going through all the things he has?) - the way you wrote their personalities is just so damn amazing. I adore the quotes and songs that set the mood for every chapter, and the way you made this anarchy-driven colony actually seem like a feasible working society that, strangely, I would actually want to live in. (Does that say something about my own sanity, possibly...?) I can't decide what I loved the most about this, because everything was just phenomenal and stunning beyond words. I love the way you can show the love between two characters without the same old, overused descriptions and scenarios and words. They gravitated around each other like two opposing magnets, darting in close and backing away again, until something broke in the heat of battle and they just damn well fell together, and the way you showed them trying to cope with that and discover what all it meant to each other and to themselves....damn, it was good!! I just finished reading this after 2-3 days of staring at my computer screen every chance I got, and damned if I don't want to go back and read it all over again. Without a doubt, this is one of the most amazing stories ever written.

Wow, I really loved this fic! It's been a while since I wandered out of the GW fandom, but I caught a reference to this one in the notes to one of your Naruto fics, and decided to take a look -- and I'm so glad I did! If I tried to detail everything I enjoyed about this fic, I'd practically end up rewriting the entire thing here for you. So I'll just go with the one thing that really stood out to me as being unique in fandom -- your characterization of Wufei. A lot of people get the focus on justice and and all that, but when writing about postwar Wufei, they forget that of the five pilots, he's probably the loosest cannon! He gets written so often as a rank-and-file obedient Preventer, and I really, deeply appreciated the way you portrayed his tendency to make his own judgments, and his very, VERY loose concept of being loyal to any sort of organization. Your Wufei, I could definitely see as the guy who decided that he was going to end war in space by killing EVERYONE he caught fighting, no matter what side they were on! And (even though I agree with you totally that Endless Waltz never should have happened) I could also finally understand the sort of thing that would have led to him joining Mariemaia -- the basic mentality that it isn't a question of what side you're on, it's a question of what the hell you yourself are doing. And just so that you do have some concrit, there were a couple word choice flubs I noticed, but they were so minor as to barely attract notice, and overall, I would say this is one of the best Gundam Wing fics out there, and DEFINITELY the best interpretation of Wufei's character I've ever read -- and I say this as a huge Wufei fan!

I have to confess I never before considered reading 2x5, but I think you can write anything and it will be good. Actually, I didn't really like Duo until now (yes, even though I mostly read 1x2x1) because he seems too girly. And your Wufei is first class. (hah I so knew he would be a sworn bottom. He has long hair, man! And that talk about being a 'sensualist' is typical for guys who think they are okay with their sexuality but deep down they still need some kind of justification, even though they don't acknowledge it.) I really enjoyed this fic and I'm a bit sad that you won't be writing GW anymore. I hope you'll start feeling nostalgic after a while and write something, perhaps a short sequel to this. You promised to let us know about Heero, and I bet he is shagging Tro, but well, you didn't tell us. Now seeing how a relationship between those two could come around - if I'm not seeing things, that is - would be interesting.

You rendered Wufei and Duo so well that I just can't stop compimenting you, *does so* I'll have to read your Naruto fanfiction! I adore Gaara if you have any fiction with him. ^.^

The last two chapters were wonderful though I had a feeling about Wufei staying in Freeport for longer, especially because Wufei was really trying to understand Freeport and in then really understood what makes that place work. It is a beautiful end to a wonderful story, but hearing that you are leaving the fandom and abandoning my absolute favourite The Source of all Things is breaking my heart. Really, I'm crying over this. I had hoped that after finishing Freeport you would return to the Source but that hopes are crashed now, sniffles, wwwwahhaaaa. Okay, you don't do it because you are evil...sniffles, seems as if you like Ninjas better than Gundam Pilots....sniffles, would bribing help? I'll make you a plushie of any character you like for each chapter, really!!! Even if I have to make a dozen Ninjas, argh, it'll be worth it.

I've been reading this for I can't say how many months now, but I caught it in the beginning and have been hooked ever since. I'm shameless in that I don't often review, but this was too gritty, too intense, too realistic to be ignored. I don't often read GW fanfiction, because it's often mind-numbingly boring and formulaic, but this is one of the best peices of fiction I've ever come across. And I say fiction with the utmost respect and awe as to what you've created here, which goes far beyond the derogatory connotations the term fanfiction has. Thank you for your commitment to such a compelling storyline, for avoiding the dead end that is PWP, and for keeping the characters in character while still operating in the fascinating universe that is Freeport. Most of all, thank you for finishing your story. I'm certain there would have been obsessive stalking and threats if you hadn't. You are a credit to your art. And this has been the best birthday present I've recieved all day.
