I've played D&D in the past and having a sword with an 'ego' or with possessive force (like Toukijin) is not unusual to me. Tenseiga having such an ego or intelligence and engaging in conversation with a hostile Sesshoumaru was quite entertaining. No, I can't see Sesshoumaru bending under anything's yoke and his reactions were not surprising. "This Sesshoumaru knows no master." Nor equal in his reckoning. Yet, everytime that Tenseiga makes it's wishes known, Sesshoumaru aquieses...out of curiosity if nothing else, I suppose. Sess' curiosity seems to be of epic proportions. Probably a symptom of his long life. Can you imagine the boredom of living more than 100 years? Or longer? Curiosity keeps the brain alive, searching for mysteries and finding answers. It can be quite stimulating. -- Now we have a very powerful youkai with an equally powerful intelligent sword, both with their own adgendas and an uneasy alliance between them. What a fun situation.
