Amyas, captain of the King's War Band is dismissed from the service by his ailing King. He returns home to his loving family only to be torn from them for one final task. The King has died, Prince Norvelle takes the throne and hurries his coronation, starting talk of suspicion that lifted the thought of a usurper roams the lands. Haven and the land dwindles into oppression as knowledge of the true heir of the throne surfaces.
