It has almost been a year since Sora last saw Riku and Kairi. Since then, people haven't seen him on different worlds much. Some say that he is trying to get home while others say that he's fighting Heartless on the other worlds. All of those things are true but the real reason is that keyblade hunters and huntresses are trying to get his keyblade so they can unlock the keyholes to every world so Heartless can attack them and destroy the worlds. Finally, he meets up with Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie in Traverse Town. He finds out that Kingdom Hearts has been opened again and Heartless have escaped from it. They have unlocked a lot of the worlds' keyholes including Traverse Town and Destiny Islands. They also tell him that he can't lock the keyholes that he has locked before or Kingdom Hearts again. A new and more powerful keyblader has to lock all of the keyholes and Kingdom Hearts before all of the worlds disappear. Sora and a few other people have to find the keyblader before all of the worlds disappear while they don't even know what is about to happen to them.
Kris is your regular 12 year old girl. She has friends and acts like she hasn't got a care in the world. She lives on Eternity Island with her friends, Sky(14) and Riuki(13). One day they decide to make a raft to visit other worlds but Kris starts having very weird dreams, one that shows her her home being destroyed. After having one dream, she gets something that lets her sense things other people can't. She finds someone who looks like an unknown on the island but they disappear before she could find out who or what it was. 2 nights before they were going to find other worlds, a huge storm hits Eternity Island. Kris gets a new sword that she must use to lock the worlds and Kingdom Hearts. The 3 friends are separated and Kris' journey begins to find her friends.
