Biography: | Wow. I've not been here for months. I thought my password was lost. Does anyone read mediaminer any more? the hits seem really low.
I've been away from fanfics for awhile, but I'm back now. I got into Hikaru no Go so the first new story or two is set in that universe, which is apparently totally unpopular right now. That's O.k. I hope anyone who reads the stories likes them anyway.
I started getting into anime about 4 years ago, and fanfics about 6 months after that. My two current fascinations are anime and Japanese textiles. The workmanship which goes into kimonos and obis is endlessly fascinating to me. Each one is an individual work of art. Western fabrics have nothing to begin to compare.
I particularly like Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho fanfics, and am an absolute sucker for crossovers, especially Hiei/Kagome pairings but I also like Hiei/Kagome/additional character. My favorite stories are ones in which the characters stay true to character as much as possible, and which diverge from canon in a believable and logical fashion.
My two favorite manga would have to be Fruits Basket and Pet Shop of Horrors, both of which I find beautifully drawn and written. The psychological twists and mature themes of the Pet Shop manga are particularly fascinating, and I re-read them on a regular basis. Each little story is a beautifully drawn morality play on the human condition, much like an Aesop's fable. |
