Biography: | Hey, everyone! I'm Maxie and introducing myself has never been a strong point of mine, but here goes nothing...
I was born and raised in Opelika, Alabama. Writing and reading has always been an obsession of mine because it lets me live in my own world.
In a way, writing is a means to find out the truth about myself. When I write, I really like to get inside the character’s head. Every mood, every sentence is driven by that character’s personality traits, and I tend to lose myself at times while I write. I guess I get a thrill from being so many people at once, but ironically being so many other people tends to reveal parts of myself that I didn’t even know was there.
My main inspiration would definitely be my grandmother who unfortunately passed away a while ago. Though I deeply miss her, I somehow feel as though she's still here. I remember she used to always say that she loved birds, and the day she of her funeral, a huge flock of birds followed the car carrying her coffin on the way to the ceremony. To this day, birds still fly around in my backyard in abnormal amounts and it always makes me happy to see them, I somehow feel like she’s watching over me. She is the main inspiration to my story, “Equilibrium”, is the reason I started writing in the first place, and will ALWAYS be one of the most influential people in my life.
Music and Religion also play a big part in my inspiration. Basically, I’ll listen to anything that’s good, but I tend to lean towards to the hard rock type of bands. Some of my favorite bands are The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Underoath, My Chemical Romance and I have also grown to extremely enjoy American Idol’s most recent winner, David Cook.
The Christian faith has always been an influence on my life but it wasn’t until I started writing that I really started to be serious about it. Ever since I started to pay more attention to my Religion I’ve felt a lot more at peace with myself and I certainly am not going to stop this newfound devotion anytime soon.
I’m the kind of guy who will always tell you what I truthfully think, I’m not one to shy away from the hard truth. When I review, I will tell you my honest opinion, if something needs work I’ll tell you. However, I’ll never try to degrade someone and flaming is definitely a taboo in my book. I just follow the Golden Rule. I would want to know someone’s honest opinion, and I actually will sometimes prefer CONTRUCTIVE criticism to compliments.
By now I’m sure most of you have stopped reading this so I’ll stop here. But for those who are still here, just remember; We all have a story within us, you just need to know how to tell it…
