I write because when I do, I can go to another world where anything can happen.
I write because I dream.
I write because I want everyone else to see the world the way I do.
I write to try to explain how I see things.
I write because, if I don't, I will break.
I write to prove to myself that I can.
I write so you can all enjoy my writing.
I write for the simple fun of knowing that, with your thoughts, you can change things.
I write because I get an idea, and my fingers write it down, and somewhere in the middle everything comes together.
I write because my mind won't let me stop.
I write for the sake of writing.
I write because my muses talk to me silently, and the mute echoes of their words bounce off the inside of my skull, reverberating through my mind, and the only way that I can dull the pain is to write down, as quickly as I can, the silent whisperings I hear.
I write because it's like my fingers are possessed, and the words inside of me can't wait to get out, and no matter how fast I write, it's never fast enough, until finally I'm going so fast that my cold, pale hands are a blur even to me, and I can barely understand my own thoughts as they transfer from my mind to the glowing screen.
I write in the hopes that, when I'm gone, there will be a lingering voice left in these works that keeps me alive for long after I've left this world. |
