Hmmm, it's interesting to see this update. Plus, you portrayed Severus well, showing him having a hard time reconciling the twin mental images he had of Harry (savior and well treated, and the abused one) and it looks good. Plus, "who's Jesus?" hahahaha, awesome! No, seriously, who is he? Lol, awesome stuff. Anyway, keep updating. Oh, and for the 2nd-4th years, I suggest doing flashbacks in teh sequel (if events are mostly the same as in the books, it shouldn't be too hard to follow; if you have significant deviation, then have that as their own stories; might take longer, but you'll be more satisfied in the end). Still, note the relationship between harry and snape (and what could Snape teach harry for that matter, and keep him interested? ffood for thought, and not just Occulmancy, someone like Snape would know weapons, why not have him as a sparring partner early on saturdays? it would be good practice for Van, and a way to reteach Harry's body) Just my own humble take on things. Well, listen or ignore my advise as you wish. Ja ne!

Hmmm, Neh, thus far the story is interesting, and deserves a further look, more than the cursory one I've given it thus far. Still, a few points on the idea of FanFiction. First, Dumbledore is always seen as manipulative. Reason why that is a necessary evil: You don't have resources, your magic is declining at a steady rate, and you're hording it as much as possible to use for the right times; so of COURSE you're gonna have to manipulate people. On top of that, your popularity could decline at any time (like Book 5) and then you'd be up shit creek if you relied on traditional backing. Controlling people, even if distasteful as hell, provides you with decent backing. Second: Snape will probably give Harry a fair chance to prove himself. If Harry talks to Snape, opens up about his actions, and confides in the reasons for doing what he does (breaking the rules because no one else is there to save them, like in the first year, and in the second as well) then Snape should understand. But be pissed off that he'd put himself in danger like that, like any parental figure would. Plus, Van always acted a bit more mature. I think Snape would respect that more, than the kiddy personality Harry has in the books. Third, if Snape wanted the protections moved, because Harry's adoptive family is that abusive, he'd take him to Hogwarts to get his injuries photographed, reported, and healed. If not, Snape would heal Harry's injuries himself somewhere safe, and then take him to Diagon ally. That's my opinion, Don't quote me on it. Still, the interesting question is, where the Hell are Harry's Grandparents? That part is still unexplained. On top of that, isn't Van a Dracon, Draconian, whatever those winged dudes are? Wouldn't that mean something? Like, he isn't human, or that at least on of his parent's was only partly human? It would spice things up (hell, it;d be cool if Lily was really a goddess that was lost by the Nords, and raised by humans, but couldn't be found until her death; and seeing the treatment Harry would see, He was taken to Gaea, and became Van; gives him some happy memories, and someone he really cares a lot about). Anyway, that's just my humble opinion. Though I have to say, Snape isn't a total bastard. He just NEVER sees beyond the resemblance to James, and probably resents that Harry has Lily's features as well. It would be a hard blow to one's ego after all. Anyway, that's all I can think of. Just some food for thought. Okay, I need some food before I go raid Kara in WoW. Later.
