I really liked this. Like you said this scenario has been done before, but I could easily see the way you put your own new spin on it. For starters I can't recall ever reading a 'Kagome is trapped but Inuyasha saves her just in time' story where Kagome is trapped in the well. I have seen other earthquakes, but never have I seen her in the well, and usually she's hurt worse and wakes up in a hospital so I appreciate that you just gave her a light bump on the head and she didn't really almost die. Though of course she almost definitely would have died if Inuyasha hadn't come for her right when he had, since there was that aftershock that could have injured her more, plus she might have run out of air if she was very buried, and he nearly didn't go to her right then because of their fight, so the drama was definitely still there, followed by relief to learn she wasn't on death's door after being rescued. The confession scene was true to canon for the most part, 'cause I definitely think it took Kagome longer to get over her insecurities regarding Kikyou than it took Inuyasha to get his priorities in order. You're spot on; if he wanted to be with Kikyou then he would be with Kikyou. All in all I say good job! :-) |
