What a good chapter. For a while I was afraid you were dead. The "white" kami isn't Inu's dad's ghost, is it? Or could both his parents be hanging around? Or was his great-grandmother involved with a demon, too?

A very good start, in my opinion, on your story. Although the Kagome/Inuyasha fight at the beginning of the story detracts some from the overall style. Much like opening a Ranma 1/2 fic with a fight between Ranma and Akane. So far though, you seem to be keeping the "Sitting" to a minimum. I also like how you're paying attention to cultural details in how especially Kagome and Sango might be viewed, and treated by those that they meet. So far Kagome's Miko powers haven't come to the forefront, and Sango has yet to reveal her martial prowess. No doubt, Inuyasha's presence will draw the attention of local powerful youkai, and I wouldn't be surprised (nay, I'd be disappointed! ^_^) if a Shikon shard didn't turn up.A hanyou declaring himself Lord of a human realm, no matter the size, ought to cause some of the lords surrounding to take action, as well as powerful monks and priestesses. Most interesting would be how Inuyasha and co. deal with a military threat, as they have avoided fighting, let alone killing, other humans. I'm not sure where in relation to the original anime/manga your placing this story, but Inuyasha was traumatised by the bandits he had killed while under the influence of his demon blood. Not much more to say, than a resounding MORE! ^_^
