Her legs in porportion to her upper body look to be a little bit too big, her head also looks a bit to small as well. May I suggest start with the head and then draw the rest of the body or start with the basics, like drawing a stick figure and then fleshing it in, also making the outline a bit bolder, I can barely see it except for a few bits of grey. I really like the color scheme that you used in this and a nice outfit as well. You have a very bold and different technique to highlighting, it's refreashing to see. Overall very nicely done. The colors are very Deep and set off the blonde of her hair nicely. The only thing i really see is the arm going behind the back seems a little think and her head may be a little on the small side. Great work.~Fanilia | Title: ARG! Matey! Reviewed By: bratkitty [MediaMiner Member] On: April 03, 2003 18:21 Comment/Review: Wow, she's got some pretty bodacious hips there. The proportions aren't bad, but the head is a tad small for the body. It looks as if you crammed the head in because you ran out of space at the edge of the paper. I see that a lot. Whenever that happens, just let it run off the page, it looks better. The face and costume design are pretty good. I loke your coloring. Is her left arm (our right) foreshortened? If so, show a little more of the upper arm and make the elbow more prominent. Maybe lower the elbow too. The best thing to do with foreshortening is draw the muscle groups as layers starting with the muscle farthest away first and working your way forward. If you ever get the chance, I recommend a life drawing class or anatomy class. It really helps you improve. Overall the pose and design are really good. Just needs a few tweaks. Good job! ^^ |
