The background didn't kill it, you've just got too much of it. I think if you even chopped of some of the left side it'd correct the problem. Or wash out the background a bit... add some lettering. Something easy, simple fix. Your style is interesting, tho. Not the cute charcters anime is use to. Something you'd see in a mature book for girls... heh, heh. No, I'm just saying it's out of the norm, but very nice. I love it, and I think it's awesome you did it with copic markers. :D

Yes I agree with you there the back ground blends too well with the colors of the character. I rather like the angle and hook to his nose, it makes an almost too perfect face better. You did a very nice and smooth job with the markers, the hair is impressive.~Fanilia

The background pattern is impressive. I don't think it 'killed this pic'The detail of the bg itself is worth of commending. Lovely picture regardless of one's oppinion of the proportions. When working so stylized, it's all up to personal choice. That's why I don't think there is anything wrong with his nose. Keep up the good work ^_^

The comment about the cheek being lost in the background is valid but the way the lips are drawn enhances this, they look VERY side-on and not 100% compatible with the rest of the facial position, it being on that ever so slight angle. Other then that the neck is, as every one pointed out, a little thick but overall the thing looks good. Well proportioned and natural, nicely angular :) I don't even mind the nose, keep the style quirks I say :) Great colouring, great feel.

This piece looks beautiful. As Pesh already stated, the nose looks odd, and the face, to me, seem to be a bit small. But other than that, it is perfect for a pinup or as Dee said, could be used for a cover. Excellent work Adyti.

Lady Pesh already mentioned some "errors" but I like the picture as is. It honestly looks like a manga cover to me, and the color work here is FABULOUS! Plus, I enjoy the expression on his face. It's aloof and beautiful.

You have a nice bishonen style going on here. It reminds me vaguely of the artist's style on the FF3/6 booklet (forgive me for forgetting his name). My only complaints would be, like you said, the background, his nose, and I feel his neck is too thick. With his neck, it makes his chin look almost flat. His nose seems to stick out too far, making it look like it's turned at an angle from his face. The background, as I'm sure you're aware, is too busy, and doesn't provide enough color contrast. With the background colors as they are, it hides where his cheek shows beside his mouth, thus enhancing the angle of the nose. It may sound like a lot, but you really have very little tweaking to do to perfect this picture. Very nice work!
