WOW! Stunning yet he looks so sad at the same time. I like his scye and that light spot in the background.

I love the effects you gave this. The mood is excellent and suits the piece and the form is pretty decent. I agree for you to work on the dull-ness of the blade. Nice work overall! ~~Amostar~~

Ooh, this is very nice, it has some real potential in it. The lens flare is distracting, as Fanilia pointed out. I would go with one light source, and if you use the lens flare to illustrated it, mute the light either in the settings or by doing a separate layer that puts a darkening sheen over it. The red on the scythe stands out wonderfully. The shine on the blade is a bit dull, making the blade itself look dull rather than sharp - sharpening the edge with a very smooth, antialiased line and then bringing up the highlights to an even bolder state will fix that. I love the work you put into the fabric of the cloak and the overall mood set in this piece. Great job for a first time with Photoshop - keep up the great work!

I like this one. The mood is conveyed very effectively. The shading on the robe is very well done, although it could adhere to the light sources a bit better. Another things that stand out slightly is the definition of face/ribbon/staff in comparison with the robe and the blade itself. It makes the picture somewhat uneven looking, and making them the same would give a nice flow to the picture. Nice job overall, keep it up!!

For the people who said that the line art needs a bit cleaning up are right. It would look so much better if you also pay attention to that. It can really show the difference between a decent and a beautiful art if one does not pay attention. The coloring is FANTASTIC. Wonderful use of flare too, rare picture that does it nicely.

Perhaps clean up the line art a bit... and other than that, it's lovely. Very moody. >D

Oooo. I love it, the mood is set perfectly as well with the brillent display of colors. There are a few scetchlines that I can spot, on it, but other than that I really must say that you're doing an amazing job. I wish I could do something half as good as this. ^^o But that's just me. Keep it up!~Later, the phox ^-.-^

Personally, I think you're doing a fabulous job! The coloring in style reminds me of pastels, and I think that's unique in this PSP/PhotoShop dominated art world. Other than the head seeming too small, it's a sw33t picture.

Not bad for just starting out in Photo shop. My suggestion here is cleaning up the scan. At the size you have it I can see the grain of pencil in the background. Take the time and use the earser to clean it up some. The other thing I'll suggest and it was suggested to me when I started, don't over use or rely on the Lens Flar effect. The only other comment I have is the hood suggests a much larger head then the face shown. That looks slightly off. On the plus side the robe is awsome, I love the style you used to show the form of the fabric. I can't wait to see your work as you get better at using the program.~Fanilia

Considering you have no obvious use of lines there's a lot of definition in your work, I really love that style you got going here. Photoshop is just wonderful. And if you're just starting its only going to get better, there's a great mood and feel to this picture, great balance. I'll wait and see how your style (especially for facial features) stands up to more complicated lighting effects, and poses before I make any comments, should be good.
