I love the character expression and the layout. You were able to space the characters out evenly and make this picture look functional. Everyone already hit on the key points that you need to work on but overall this picture rocks and all the pictures you submitted thus far are awesome. Excellent work. ^_~ Songie

The shading you've done with them are so excellent and you've definately got the art of the shading down, but there are also areas of brightness and shine on hair and areas of lighter skin. What you've got going for this picture is good because it gives it a rather matte/pastel like scheme, but if you work with felts often this is a regard sometimes. Your background is very nice for the picture and leaves the focus on the characters without being bland. The work of fur is often hard to work but with furry animals it's a good thing to work, though you don't need to do it. I love how you've got drawing children with adults down. It's a good thing. Good work.

The blending and the shading are both top notch. I really like how you made the flesh tone varied for each of the human characters. No one is the exact same shade of flesh tone. Oh and the blush you added to his cheeks really gives that extra to the emotion conveyed by is facial features. Lovely work.~Fanilia

The colors definitely are working for this picture and you've got them blended perfectly. I love how the hair turned out especially. The expressions are great, and you've got your symmetry and proportions down pat. The only area that looks slightly awkward to me is the lower right hand region of the little boy's face. It's a bit too pale/white in color for my tastes, especially in comparison to the bright rouge of the adult's cheeks. The cat's brown ear could also be blended a bit more to reduce grainyness. Otherwise a very nice piece. Thanks for submitting yet again!! ~Dx

Comment/Review: You have a solid grasp of standard anime style portraits and backgrounds - the bold colors interspersed in the background reflect the bold and lively colors in the character designs. Your line art is smooth and clean - personally, I think it could stand to be darker black, but that is just my preference for this type of line art style. Developing your skintone variations and the shading of hair will make this image "pop" more - the shading is weak in some areas, particularly on the baby, and in other areas is inconsistent with depth and intensity (particularly on the girl). This is a good example of how colored pencils can enhance a simple foundation to make a lively image. The depth of shading and color variation on the boy's eyes is particularly nice. I look forward to seeing more of your colored art. :)
