Trapped in Time

Chapter Two
-The year 2020-
“My lady do you think it's wise to trust that hacker?” Silver Knight was following Lady Subaru to the Chaos Gate in Mac Anu. Lady Subaru did not respond at first. She was watching a squad of Knights in form walk past, several newbie players moved quickly out of the way. Crimson Knights never bothered players…only hackers, and other rule breakers. Subaru turned toward Silver Knight to resume their previous conversation or reprimand him more or less.
“Silver Knight need I remind you?” A blue haired woman with an old-fashion blue dress brushes her hair away from the crimson symbol on her forehead. Flexing her wings irritated she continued, “We are not Administration or anyway connected to C.C. Corporation. We are mere players, as such, I wish you to remember. That said we have no reason not to trust him; there is no physical evidence of hacking.”
“Yes milady, I understand and obey though I do not agree. In addition, I would like to remind you we have been logged on for thirteen hours. Perhaps after this dungeon you should take a break.” The pair had reached their destination, the Chaos Gate. Subaru ignored Silver Knights suggestion of rest, and updated their conversation.
“Where was the location Silver Knight?” The Gate activated, and slowly spun awaiting for the activation code to send the P.C's where they wanted to go.
“It was ∆ Hidden Forbidden Time.”

Both Figures logged in to the field, the music is the Serene Magic and Sword. Looking around at the clear horizon Subaru sighed; plopped down on the cool grassy ground, she decided to take a nap while they waited. Silver Knight stood on guard, one hand on the hilt of his sword, keeping a watchful eye for monsters. (He can never take a break :^_^:)
-One Hour Later-
“My Lady…my Lady,” Silver Knight was kneeling next to Lady Subaru gently touching her shoulder.
A sleepy Subaru opened her eyes to the already dimming light, “Mmmh? Is it…time…already?” Sitting up slowly, one hand on her axe, she rubbed her crimson eyes, like a butterfly brushes against a flower. Yawning she stood faster then her mind could allow after such stillness, causing her world to spin slightly. Silver Knight's arm shot out and steadying his Lady easily.
“Are you alright my Lady?”
“Oh…yes, just a glitch, I'll be all right.” He let go reluctantly, watching her for any problems. Lady Subaru stood firmly on her feet, the bottom of her axe on the ground; she tossed her head causing her hair to fall into its rightful place. “Now where did the message say to go in this deserted field?”
Silver Knight paused, reading the message again. “The message says we are to go toward a grove of trees, there he will meet us.”
Frowning at the flat plains, she signed drawing out a multi-colored ball the size of a baseball; she tossed it up high calling out, “Fairies Orb!” But instead, of the orb exploding without a noise revealing all the area to the user and party…the pretty orb fell to the ground with a soft clink, doing absolutely nothing.
“Oh…my…it's not effective here,” looking at her knight for an answer, who had his helmet on as usual.
“Perhaps we should just keep walking, my Lady.” Subaru nodded curtly, choosing a random direction, they started their journey. Silver Knight followed his Lady quietly, sensing her disappointment at not having a map.
As they walked on, the grassy field changed becoming hard and bare dirt, fog appeared and got steadily thicker, but they still walked. The music had turned off without the small party's notice.
After what seemed to be hours, the fog thinned, revealing a small grove of trees, with a ring of stones in the middle. Virtual green vines were twisted and knotted at strange angles on and around the trees. Strangely not a single vine or breath of fog was in the circlet of stones, as if some invisible barrier was keeping the element from the consecrated ground.
“There is no one here Silver Knight…” She looked around cautiously, her eyes resting briefly on the circlet, turning her angelic like face to her companion, “Are you sure he said this…grove.” Shifting from one foot to the other, looking most uncomfortable, “The message yes…but from whom no…it, the message, had no sender, it was distorted.”
The silent fear of unspoken danger clouded their instinctive thoughts. Eerie music filled the air, chilling the players to their data core.
“Silver Knight, are you telling me you…have no idea who sent you that message. Not even if it was a P.C. or, an N.P.C.?”
The music got louder; the circle glowed softly as it animated the surrounding vines. Long, black thorns grew slowly out of the now yellowish black vines. The two frustrated players did not seem to notice the animation of life around them.
Silver Knight raised his voice slightly, “I thought maybe the message was from a different server, other than the JP Server.” Silver Knight lowered his gaze even though; you couldn't see his eyes anyway.
Lady Subaru looked worriedly at him, “Then we must log off this field Silver Knight.” She closed her eyes out of habit to log off the field.
… … …
“My Lady the server does not respond.” Subaru opened her eyes, concern written on her tiny face, her mouth slightly agape.
“I can not as well…hmm.” She fingered at the engravings on her axe thoughtfully, “Maybe it is just a glitch in the program…perhaps the administration is working on it right now.” Her voice raised in panic, her fear clearly voiced.
The vines had slowly edged their way to the players; a cobra to it's pray. The circle finally drew both players attention as it lit up the grove with a bright light.
“What is…?” The instant Subaru whispered those words; the vines shot out from the ground and grabbed hold of her arms, and Silver Knights legs. Subaru let out a scream, her axe slammed into a tree. Silver Knight struggled to release himself, unsheathing his sword, he slashed at the vines, but more came in their place.
Thorns dug into their skin, ankles, arms, legs and torso…releasing a clear liquid.
“What is happening? I'm …I'm not supposed to feel pain… I'm in “The World”…why is this?” Subaru thought faintly, she wasn't screaming in the virtual world when the vines started to drag her, but in reality, everyone heard her blood curdling scream rip out of her throat.
“Lady Subaru, don't give…ugh. Let go of me, you over grown rose bush!” Silver Knight roared, his weapon taken from him.
The vines ripped away their armor, and what was left of their weapons, the ugly things dragged them to the middle of the circle. There was a silence both players had stopped fighting. Their world was already fading, all they saw was darkness, hearing their own hearts in their ears, and losing the feeling in their limbs… they drifted off in an undetermined sleep.
The vines slowly raised their prizes up, until they were suspended about two feet from the ground. The glow of the circlet, turned to a blue light, growing brighter as two identical pairs of iron manacles reached out and clamped on the sleeping victims ankles and, wrists. The thorny vines receded and let go…they were trapped.
