Yomi, was waiting a while to calm down. She then told Kaorin about her dream. There were three objects that made it quite as Yomi described it. The first one, was a lonely trek on Mount Fuji. The second one, was Kaorin as the hot springs girl. Thirdly, which was a twist...the springs had Kaorin-clones in there. That caused a nose bleed in the dream. Kaorin got out her dream book...and she blushed.
"Yomi...I think we are meant to be according to this book," Kaorin said sweetly.
"That was how it came...when I woke up my bedsheets were wet," Yomi then said.
"That is one strange wet dream...considering the dreams I have had, it is normal."
"Did you have any dreams?" Yomi asked.
"Ironically it was the same dream...just you and your clones," Kaorin admitted.
"I think the Americans would use these for their lucky numbers."
"Hey...I really did enjoy our first date," Kaorin said.
"I believe we need to go on a few more...just to explore."
"Would that be like that Jacques Cousteau?"
"Exactly right...though we'd be on dry land."
Kaorin giggled. Yomi knew exactly how to approach her. After all, she had the hardest training of anybody. That aside, Kaorin liked Yomi's slow, careful, methodical approach. After all, their senior year had started, and they wanted to make everything as close to as perfect as possible. They also knew there were going to be some problems along the way.
"I'm scared..." Yomi admitted.
"I am too...but we have to get through this, consequences be damned," Kaorin said bluntly.
"I mean...."
"The outside forces will happen regardless," Kaorin said with a moment of firmness. "The bad stuff will only happen if we allow it."
"You're right," Yomi said, now calmed down.
"I have nearly lost Sakaki as a friend due to being selfish...I don't want to lose anybody because of that."
"I understand," Yomi said softly.
"We have the rest of the evening to ourselves," Kaorin said. "What would you like to do?"
"I would like to go walking."
"That's a good idea."
Kaorin shut down her stereo. They gathered their things, and placed their shoes on in the front of the house. They decided to go walking until it was time for their curfew. Yomi's was at ten, Kaorin's was at nine. It was a quiet, loving walk. The spring air was just nice and warm, it was late afternoon. The light was going to be out for a little bit longer. Yomi was contemplating a life with Kaorin. However, she brought herself back to reality. She can't rush things as much as she wanted too. Kaorin was the same. Her thought process was the same. Maybe move to America, to New York, to get married. Yomi then smiled, and broke the silence.
"Kaorin...how would you look in a wedding dress?" Yomi asked briskly.
"I think we both would be stunning," Kaorin answered honestly.
"I think so too," she returned smiling.
"I do have one question....have you made out with anybody before me?"
"There was the one time with Tomo in junior high school, but that was all I can remember."
"I actually, made out with Chihiro twice," Kaorin admitted. "That was before I met Sakaki-san."
"Well...we at least got that little bit of experience," she said a bit uneasy.
"It just didn't feel right....at first."
"It is probably because we haven't found the right person."
"What do you say we go back to your place," Kaorin said. "I can ask my parents if I can stay for the night."
"Sure, you bring an extra set of clothing...I'll ask my parents."
They both went on their separate way. Yomi asked her parents, they agreed. They also didn't want any tomfoolery going on. However, Yomi wasn't ready for that yet. That was too early! Kaorin returned, and her parents gave the okay. They went to Yomi's bedroom. She needed to take a shower, so she got everything ready. Kaorin didn't really have a chance to take one after this morning.
"Did you bring some shower things?" Yomi asked.
"I have," she answered.
"Follow me," she said, leading to the shower, "If you need a shower come here...it's a communal shower."
"Well, the good news is I wake up early enough to not be hogged out."
"Does your mom do that?"
"Yes, she must pretty herself to be a housewife"
"Wow...that's time consuming..."
"It is also vain."
"Well, unless you want to watch me shower..."
"Oh, I'll wait," Kaorin then said. That would had been ultra awkward.
Kaorin went back into Yomi's room. She sat at the desk quietly. She waited about fifteen minutes, when Yomi appeared. She had changed into her pajamas for the rest of the night. Kaorin then took her leave. About ten minutes later, she returned in her pajamas. There were very distinct styles. Yomi's top was full-long sleeved, and was blue and red trim. Kaorin's pajama top was a spaghetti strap-style dress...that was white, pink, and purple. Her pajama bottoms were beige.
"This is...very...cozy," Kaorin said nervously.
"You're very nervous aren't you?" Yomi asked.
"I am...I mean I don't want to do anything too fast."
"Kaorin...for now, we're not ready for the physical relationship," she said realistically.
"That is true...and we have shared beds before," she reasoned as she sat on the bed.
"I will tell you what, whatever happens, happens."
Kaorin was nervous. She knew her taller girlfriend was right. There was no way to expect anything to go well. However...they both were worn out from the week. They had decided it would be wise to go to sleep now. Yomi did set her alarm clock for 7:30 a.m. so she could be able to get some of her chores done, and to get Kaorin home on time. However, they enjoyed each other's company a lot. Yomi felt this will work. She definitely hasn't been self-conscious since she's gotten to know Kaorin a bit better. The next morning came quickly. Yomi's chores were plentiful. Kaorin has decided to help her out.
"Wow, do you use a lot of laundry?" Kaorin asked.
"Yes, this is the week," Yomi said. "My clothing isn't bad, since I don't wear out the same things."
"You know, it's just as crazy."
"The fun part is hanging it up so they'll dry up."
Kaorin smiled. Once they got the laundry going...they didn't notice the Mizuhara parents up. Mr. Mizuhara went outside to do yard work, and Mrs. Mizuhara got to work with breakfast. Once breakfast, and the chores were completed, everybody got ready for their day. Kaorin and Yomi cleaned up first. After, Yomi decided to take Kaorin home. Her parents would throw a fit if she was later than need be. They both had on their shooting star pendants and held their pinkies together.
"Wow," Yomi's father said, "I remember when we did our own 'pinkie swear'."
"That definitely is very romantic," her mother responded smiling.
"Do you remember when we did that?"
"Yes, I was a bundle of nerves," she laughed.
"So was I," he smiled. "You know what...I was the same way too."
They both smiled and sat at the table. He still remembers saving up to buy his wife the shooting star pendant...the same one Yomi and Kaorin exchanged. They ended up going to Kaorin's house in a blissful silence. Yomi still didn't want to move too fast. However, they were close enough that they held their pinkies the entire way through. Once they were at Kaorin's place, and it was about 10:30 in the morning, they let go. They didn't want to. Kaorin saw the look in her face.
"Don't worry," Kaorin said. "We just pinkie swore, so we made a promise to each other."
"You're right...I just don't like to be away from you," Yomi admitted.
"Wow, that was the best first date we had."
"Our parents went through the same thing," Yomi smiled.
"I think it's cute."
"My mom has that same pendant we got each other," Yomi said. "Even though, Tomo didn't have to buy it."
"I understand," Kaorin then said smiling, "it is always the thought that counts."
Yomi then gave Kaorin a quick peck on her cheek. Kaorin blushed, and bid her farewell. Once inside, she played with the pendant. She smiled. She knew that Yomi was the one. She also resolved to fight to keep Yomi come hell, or high water. Though, when she looked in her bedroom, she gazed out of the window. Her mother came in, and knocked on her door.
"Kaori, is everything alright?" her mother asked.
"Everything is alright," Kaorin answered. "Tell me...how nervous were you when you first dated."
"I was very nervous, your father was a wreck," she smiled.
"I overheard Yomi's parents talk about how they met...I definitely think it is cute."
"Did you have a good time yesterday?"
"We did...we held hands in the theater throughout the movie."
"Wow, I am very impressed," her mother said, putting her laundry away, "it took your father and I only three dates to do that."
"I think she's nervous about the future though..."
"That's good," her mother said, "she is absolutely thinking about you...and she doesn't want anybody to get hurt for any reason."
Kaorin nodded. Her mother knew that Yomi (between her and Tomo at least) was reasonable. There was something in the air, that caused a chill to go up her spine. Her mom left the room. With a warning, that she knows her phone hours. She understood. However...she has her own cell phone. That way, the house phone won't be used as much during late night pillow talk. For now, since that was way out in the future, she decided to take in the events of the weekend.
