Chapter 2: The World and Osakan Beauty

Kasura awoke with a start and glances quickly at the clock, which reads 7:02 am. His mess that he had left on the floor was surprisingly no longer there.
“Brother, it's time to get up. We gotta leave soon,” a mysterious voice said from the other side of the door.
Brother? He wonders as the door opens and a young girl of about ten walks in the room. Suddenly he realizes that the girl is Chiyo-Chan from Azumanga Daioh!
“Chiyo, what's going on here?” he asks as she opens the blinds.
“What are you talking about Kasura?” she asked. “Tomorrow's the first day of school and you promised you'd take me to the park to meet the girls today.”
“Oh, Okay,” he replied without thinking, “let me get dressed and eat and we'll go to the park. How does that sound?”
“Alright,” Chiyo answered. “I'll be downstairs so when you are ready just let me know. By the way, I already made our lunches. It's nice out so you don't need a jacket today.” With that, she leaves Kasura standing in the room alone.
“What the hell is going on?” he asks himself before he rises to get dressed. Suddenly, Kasura remembers the bookmark and the manga. After dressing and heading to the den, he also realizes all of the other volumes of Azumanga are missing.
“It worked, it really worked! Now what do I do to get out of this world? Wait a minute, why am I in a rush to leaved, I volunteered to come here. I should just enjoy the moment. He headed into the kitchen where Chiyo was finishing the packing of the picnic basket. “You ready to go?” he asks her.
“Yep,” she says as she grabs the basket, “let's go!”
The large park was just up the street from the house. It spanded more street than any person could count, with a large fountain that provided modern beauty to the center of the park. The two walked to a small clearing at the south end where the teenagers always meet.
“Chiyo, I didn't have any breakfast, I'm really hungry. When do we eat?” Kasura asks as the two continue on their walk.
“We'll be there in a couple of minutes,” Chiyo answered. “Miss Sakaki and Tomo should already be there, and the others will all be coming soon.”
“Alright, let's go see everyone,” Kasura replied. “I can't wait.”
The two travel just a little ways further through the woods to a large, secluded clearing with a couple of blankets already laid out and a radio blaring. And just like Chiyo said, Tomo and Miss Sakaki we laid out listening to the music on the radio.
“Hey Kasura,” says Tomo-chan, “sup? Did you get a good sleep last night cause I know that I kinda had trouble sleeping cause of the sirens outside my window and all the…”
“Tomo, just shut up already,” says Yomi as she comes into the clearing with Osaka and Miss Yukari. “Oh, Kasura, hi. How are you?”
“Are you all ready for school tomorrow?” Yukari asks. “It is all your senior years after all.”
“I am,” Osaka answered. “I'm gonna work really hard this year so I can try to get into Tokyo U for next year.”
“Osaka,” says Tomo quickly to cut off Osaka, “do you really think you have a chance to get into Tokyo U? Because I think that you are kinda acting on something out of your league. I think that…”
“Now wait a minute,” Kasura replies, interrupting Tomo, “first off, her name is not Osaka, it's Ayumu Kasuga. Secondly, she could get in Tokyo U if she wants. She's a very talented girl in the classroom, or at least I think so.”
“Oh Kasura, thanks for standing up for me,” Osaka says. “That was really sweet of you.” With this, Osaka looks at him and winks.
Kasura looks back at Osaka and admires her beauty. She is on the shorter side with her shoulder length black hair and big, beautiful, brown eyes. He smiles at her and feels his cheeks grow red with embarrassment.
The day passes away as the group enjoys a nice lunch and a very interesting game of softball, seeing as the ball hit Chiyo and Osaka more than they hit the ball. After the game, Chiyo leaves with Sakaki and the rest of the group, leaving only Kasura and Osaka in the clearing.
“Ayumu,” Kasura asks, “do you want me to walk you home? Cause it's gonna be dark soon and I don't want you walking by yourself.”
“Sure,” she answered. “I would love that, thank you.”
With that, the two were off for home to prepare for their busy day tomorrow. They talked about everything from the up coming school year to Osaka's past. Before long, the two had reached Osaka's front door.
“Um, bye, I, uh, gotta go.” She started to walk away when she saw him start to leave. “Um, Kasura…”
“Yeah,” he asked as he turned around. With this, Osaka ran back to Kasura and planted her lips on his. The kiss was short but romantic, and the sparks between the two teens could be seen.
They pulled apart and Osaka started to speak. “Thanks, thanks for everything, for sticking up for me, for being here, for…”
Before she could continue rambling on Kasura shut her up with a more forceful kiss with a lot of tongue wrestling between them. After that kiss she could not say anything else and made her way to her door.
“See you tomorrow Osaka,” Kasura says with a big smile on his face.
She just smiles at him and closes the door behind her. Kasura sighs and continues his trip home from that great day in the park. It's almost dark when he reaches the front gates of his home. He stops dead when he sees Chiyo sitting on the stairs with tears in her eyes and a tissue in her hands.
“Kasura, where have you been? I have been so worried about you.” Chiyo ran to Kasura and wrapped her arms around his waist.
“Chiyo, I walked Osaka home because I didn't want her walking on her own. We talked a little on her porch and came home. I'm so sorry that I worried you. It's getting late, are you ready for bed like a big girl?” he asked.
“Of course,” she replied. “I'm making breakfast in the morning before school. And be sure to set your alarm clock before you go to sleep. Night, big brother.”
“Night Chiyo.” Kasura then heads upstairs, takes a shower, and turns in to prepare for his busy day tomorrow.
