Nia: Yay thankies to the two reviewers for reviewing. At least I have two other fans that are willing to take a few minutes of their time to review. To my readers I am sorry about the late update but I decided to start planning out the next chapters so I don't end up getting off course.

 

Tyson: Which was not cool as she left the last chapter with Kai and I going to bed >_<

 

Kai: Well Tyson with training I don't think that it is a good idea to be `mating'

Chapter Six

 

Let the Training Begin

 

Kai slid open the door to his and Tyson's room. His head was still spinning from what he heard from Kaida. Tyson would be transferring some of his power over to him during the mating and he would end up gaining some new abilities. It was still all confusing and exciting at the same time. And with the promise of training Kai was finally starting to feel like a part of the team. Now he could go into battle along side Tyson.

 

Kai let Tyson enter before him and slid the door closed behind them. Kai turned around and was instantly pinned against the door. Kai gasped when Tyson pushed himself against him and leaned up and kissed him hard and demanding. Kai, at first was taken back, but soon wrapped his arms around Tyson and returned the kiss just as relentlessly. Kai licked at Tyson's bottom lip and Tyson opened his mouth willingly. Kai made sure to taste every part of Tyson's additive taste.

 

Tyson broke the kiss and started to lightly kiss Kai's cheek as he made his way to Kai's ear. Kai leaned against the door and melted into the sensations of pleasure that Tyson was invoking on him. Kai ran his hand up Tyson's arm and Tyson winced slightly as he continued to kiss Kai's earlobe.

 

Kai pulled Tyson away, “Are you okay?”

 

Tyson blinked a couple of times and looked confused, “What are you talking about? Of course I'm okay.” Tyson leaned in and tried to kiss Kai's neck but Kai placed his hands on Tyson's shoulders and held him still.

 

“Then why did you wince if you're okay?”

 

“Wince?” Tyson now gazed a Kai completed puzzled.

 

“Yes wince. When I touched your arm,” Kai lightly traced his finger over the scratched on his arm and again Tyson winced. “See!”

 

“I guess I'm a little tender. It is nothing Kai.” Tyson tried once again to move closer but Kai held him still.

 

“Tyson we should wait till you are healed before we do anything.” Kai brushed a few stray hairs out of Tyson's face.

 

“What?!” Tyson stepped back away from Kai and glared at him.

 

“Tyson you are hurt and after what Kaida said about the mating and the power that you will be giving me I don't think it's a good idea that we go any further tonight.”

 

Kai winced at the look of hurt and confusion on Tyson's face. But knew in his heart that he was right. Tyson was in no condition to `mate'. Kai made to walk towards Tyson but now it was Tyson who was backing up.

 

“So what about before?!”

 

“Before?”

 

“Yeah before! When you were all over me. I was hurt then and that didn't stop you. So now you don't want to because of what Kaida said? You were the one that started all this and, need I remind you, you promised to finish this later. Well Kai it is later!”

 

“Tyson I'm just not sure what will happen to you if we did. I don't want to hurt you more then you already are. I'm afraid of what will happen with you being hurt!” Kai was now starting to get a little annoyed.

 

“Kai it's a natural part of mating! All Dragons go through this!” Kai could have sworn that he saw Tyson's eyes flash blue but in the blink of an eye it was gone.

 

“Tyson I don't what you go through anymore hardships.”

 

“So what mating with me is a hardship!” Now Kai was positive that he saw Tyson's eye flash.

 

“That's not what I meant!” Kai was starting to get frustrated. He had never been one to try and example his feelings before and now Tyson was demanding it from him.

 

Tyson threw his hands up in the air exhausted, “Then what the hell do you mean!”

 

Kai ran his hand through his hair and he tried to calm himself down. “I meant that your healing and you have been through so much today. So if we made love tonight that would make you lose energy and then what would happen to your injures.”

 

“I already told you that this was a natural part of mating and I will be fine.”

 

Kai shook his head knowing that he was not getting anywhere with Tyson on this. “How do you know?” Kai whispered more to himself then to Tyson but with Tyson's hearing he heard it just fine.

 

“What?!” Tyson's eyes flashed an intense azure.

 

“How do you know that for sure Tyson? You told me that you didn't pay attention to what the Elders told you about mating so how do you know that you will be fine with all those injures?”

 

Kai instantly wished he didn't say anything Tyson's eyes started to show flecks of silver through them and a wind blew through the room. “I know what I am able to handle and what I'm not! I may not have paid attention to the Elders but I know what I want and I want you! Don't you want me?!”

 

Kai could see the clouds outside Tyson's window start to form and could hear the rain hitting the roof. He was dumbstruck. He honestly didn't know what to say to Tyson's outburst of emotion. Of course he wanted Tyson but he always didn't want Tyson to get hurt because of him. How was he going to explain that to Tyson?

 

Kai jumped when he heard Tyson growl, “Your silence is answer enough!” And before Kai could even react Tyson stormed past Kai and out of the room.

Tyson was furious. How could Kai be that way after all that had happened. Sure he was hurt and yeah he was tender but he still wanted Kai and it seemed that Kai didn't want him. The wind started to pick up as Tyson walked absentmindedly down the hall. He didn't even know where he was going as he was thinking too much about the fight he had just had with Kai and before he knew it he was standing outside Kaida's door.

 

Tyson took a steadying breath as he looked at the bamboo sliding door. For the past three years whenever anything went wrong Tyson always found himself going to Kaida. She always knew what to say to help him calm down and she always made him feel better. So why should this time be any different. Tyson raised his hand and was about to knock on the door when it slid open.

 

Tyson yelped as he looked at the sleepy face of Kaida. Her hair was all over the place and she had a slight smile on her face. “Come in Takao I was waiting for you.” Kaida moved out of the way as Tyson hung his head and walked into her room. Tyson walked towards her bed and knelt down. Kaida closed the door and walked over to her bed and climbed into it.

 

Kaida pulled her blankets up and looked over at Tyson with soft concerned eyes. “What's wrong Takao?” And before Tyson could even stop himself he spit out everything that had just happened between him and Kai. Kaida sat silently and let Tyson pour his heart out to his cousin.

 

“And then I asked him if he wanted me and he didn't even reply!” Tyson's eyes flashed again. Kaida reached forward and placed a hand on Tyson's that was resting on his knee.

 

“I think I know how Kai feels but please Takao you must calm yourself. One freak storm a day is enough don't you think?”

 

Tyson took a deep breath as he closed his eyes. Tyson breathed in the scents of vanilla and rain and slowly felt himself relaxing. The clouds outside dispersed and the rain stopped. Tyson sighed as he opened his eyes.

 

“Now that's better. Tyson did you even stop to think about Kai's feeling on the matter?”

 

Tyson hung his head, “Not really I will really anger with him for not listening to my feelings on the matters.”

 

“Yes by what you have told me I think he knows yours feelings and from what I have seen of Kai I think he was confused about the whole subject.”

 

“What do you mean?”

 

Kaida looked towards her door and smiled to herself. “Kaida?” Kaida looked back at Tyson and smiled. “Nothing to worry about Takao. Now what I meant was that Kai doesn't seem like the type of person who knows how to explain his feelings. And with you demanding to know how he feels probably confused him. I have no doubt in my mind that Kai loves you very much but he is unsure of what will happen now that he was told about the mating.”

 

“What's there to know; I will end up transferring my powers to him and in turn I will be weak but it is a natural part of a Dragon's life.”

 

“Yes you and I are very much aware of what it means to be a Dragon but Kai does not. For the past three years you have been taught the ways of the Dragons and you full well know what you can and can not do but for Kai and the others it is a different story. They are still trying to figure this all out. We both already know everything and they were told a couple of days ago about it. Do you see where I going with this Takao?”

 

“Not really…” Tyson was more then a little confused about this subject.

 

Kaida shook her head as she sighed, “Takao they only found out about this a day ago and you want them, especially Kai, to understand it all right now. It takes time and patience on both our behalves. Kai is not sure about the mating because of what it is going to do to you where as you know what it is going to do and know that it won't hurt you. Kai is just looking out for your well being and you got angry at him for it.”

 

“That was not my intend cousin…” Tyson was starting to feel really stupid for what he had done and what he had said but he was still mad at Kai for not saying right away that he wanted him as much Tyson what him. “He still should have said that he wanted me. But he hesitated.”

 

Kaida laughed as she rustled Tyson's hair, “You still have a lot of growing up to do don't you Takao.”

 

Tyson pulled away and glared at Kaida, “What are you talking about I'm older then you!” But when Kaida started to laugh even louder Tyson couldn't help but laugh as well.

 

“It is late Takao and you need your rest. I think it is time for you to go to bed.”

 

Tyson started to trace patterns into the floor with his finger as he looked at Kaida sheepishly. “Kaida can I stay with you tonight?”

 

“I thought you would have grown out of this by now.” But as Kaida said this is shifted over and lifted up her blanket. Tyson smiled as he crawled under the covers and got comfortable. Tyson leaned on his side and stared at Kaida. Kaida reached over and brushed his hair out of his face. Tyson was wrapped up it the calming scent of Kaida and found himself drowsing off to sleep.

 

“Kaida?”

 

“Hum?”

 

“What's the deal between you and Rei?”

 

Kaida opened her eyes and looked at Tyson confused. “What deal?”

 

“No what I mean is what is going on between the two of you?” Tyson shifted his weight as Kaida's scent washed over him. He wanted to know what Kaida thought about Rei and what was going between the two of them. And to find that out he needed to be awake.

 

“I like him if that is what you are asking.”

 

Tyson growled and Kaida laughed. “I don't what anything to be going on between the two of you.”

 

Kaida giggled as she tucked a piece of Tyson's hair behind his ear. “And why is that cousin? Do you not trust Rei or is it that you do not trust me?”

 

“I trust you completely Kaida but I am not sure of Rei's intentions when it comes to you.”

 

Kaida yawned and closed her eyes, “Then ask him yourself.” Kaida curled into her pillow and said no more. Tyson watched Kaida sleep for a few minutes before he felt himself dropping off. The last thing Tyson heard before he fell asleep was the sound of footsteps walking down the hall.

Kai barely slept at all that night. He had gone after Tyson when he collected his wits and find that he had gone into Kaida's room. Kaida was very intelligent and nailed exactly what Kai was feeling. Kai just wished that he was the one that had told Tyson what he was feeling. And when Kaida said that Tyson should go to bed Kai was hoping that Tyson would get up and come back to the room but instead he stayed with Kaida all night.

 

Kai started when he heard a light tapping on the door. “Kai are you awake?” It was Kenny.

 

“Yes Kenny I am.”

 

“Okay good. Kaida would like you and Dranzer to meet us in the backyard when you are changed.”

 

“Alright.” Kai climbed out of bed and looked around the room for something to wear. A red piece of cloth by the door caught his eye. And as he got closer noticed that it was kimono. It looked like the one that Gramps always wore around the dojo but in different colours. The top was black lined with a very rich and deep red and the bottoms matched the lining to a tee.

 

Kai shrugged as he changed into the kimono and walked over to the nightstand to get his beyblade and launcher. As he approached the door he noticed that there were also some sandals there. Kai slipped his feet into them and was surprised that they were his size. “That Kaida I swear she thinks of everything.”

 

Kai slid open the door and walked out into the cool morning fog. It was still dark outside and guessing by the slowly lightening sky that dawn was still about an hour away. Kai shivered slightly as he walked down the hall and towards the koi pond. He rounded a bound and saw that the backyard had transformed. It was one big obstacle course for beyblades.

 

“Good Morning Kai!” Kai jumped slightly as Max yelled across the backyard. Kai had to do a double take at Max's outfit for he too was dressed in a kimono. But his shirt was a deep purple almost black with a rich green lining. His bottoms also matched his lining perfectly. “Pretty sweet outfits eh?!” Max turned around showing his entire kimono to Kai.

 

“Yes Max.” Replied Kai as he sat down.

 

“Are you hungry Kai? Kaida made some breakfast rolls for us,” Kai turned and looked at Hilary. She was also wearing a kimono but it looked more like a miko kimono then anything, as it was white and red. Kai thanked Hilary as he took a roll.

 

“I have to say that these outfits are really easy to move in. Kaida out did herself with these.” Kai turned and saw Rei and Kenny coming down the hall. Rei was dressed in a tradition Chinese outfit. Much like the one that he usually wore but it was white trimmed with gold with a green sash. His pants were also green. Kenny was wearing a kimono that looked just like Gramps.

 

Everyone sat on the edge on the walkway eating in silence. The rolls were really good and no one seemed the need to talk. Kai nearly dropped his roll when two streaks of light crashed into the ground in front of them, it also didn't help that Hilary had screamed. The two streaks of light, which were blue and silver, slowly formed into the forms of humans. When the light cleared Kai was awestruck.

 

The two figures were none other then Kaida and Tyson and they both looked amazing. Kaida was wearing tight silver pants with silver Chinese looking slipper shoes. She was wearing a skintight azure three quarter length low cut shirt with a silver dragon wrapping around her chest. Her hair was braided and tied off with a silver ribbon. Around her waist she wore a thick white leather belt with a strip of leather going down the outside of her thighs and then wrapping around her thighs. On the right side was a holster with a launcher in it and the left side had a pouch, which Kai guessed held her bey blade.

 

Tyson was dressed in a similar fashion but his pants were black and he was wearing the same boots that he was wearing the first day at school. His shirt was shaped like a muscle tank top and was silver. Wrapped around his torso was a printed blue dragon that looked a lot like Dragoon. He also wore a belt very much like Kaida's but his was a deep blue and the holster and pouch were on opposite sides to Kaida's. Tyson's hair was also braided down his back and was tied off with a ribbon that matched his hair colour.

 

“Good Morning everyone!” Kaida walked forward smiling at everyone. As she got closer Kai noticed that she was completely healed as her shirt only reached to about two inches below her bust.

 

“That was a wicked entrance you two!! Well we learn that today!” Max had jumped up the minute that he saw who the two people were.

 

Kaida laughed and shook her head, “No Max that took Takao a year to master and he still needs to practice it almost everyday to make sure that gets to the right location.”

 

“I have not messed up in a long time Kaida!” Tyson walked forward and now stood beside his cousin.

 

“I know. So everyone how are your training outfits? Do they fit all right? Can you all move easily?”

 

“They are great Kaida! How did you know our sizes?” Rei jumped off the walkway and spinned around.

 

“I kind of guessed. But if everything is in order and you have eaten then I guess I will get Takao to example the course you see before you.”

 

Rei walked back over the walkway and sat down. Tyson stepped forward and locked eyes with Kai. Kai couldn't seem to look away and then suddenly he heard Tyson's voice in his mind. We need to talk later. Kai nodded and Tyson smiled. Kai breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried that Tyson was going to yell at him again but seeing that smile made Kai instantly relax.

 

“All right everyone the course you see before you is the course that I first started to train on when I went up north. It may look like an ordinary course but trust me looks can be disserving. This course is meant to let Kaida and myself see how good you are at controlling your bey blades and to see how well you attack the course.'

 

`Now Chief as agreed to record each of you as you attack the course and Hilary will be helping Chief with logging any and all progress that Kaida and I miss. Remember that this is not a timed run so take your time. Don't try and impress us because that will make you lose your concentration. Kaida will show you the run of the course.” Tyson turned to Kaida and nodded.

 

“All right everyone you will all line up here,” Kaida walked over to the beginning of the course that was marked off by a gouge in the ground. Kaida reached down and grabbed her launcher and her beyblade. With a slight click the beyblade was attached to the launcher and the ripcord was added.

 

“Hey look at that Kaida is a left handed blader!” Rei elbowed Max and raised a finger to his mouth in the hopes of getting Max to quiet down.

 

Kaida closed her eyes as Tyson raised a hand into the air. “3!… 2!… 1!… Valhi Sheini!” Kai didn't understand the last part of what Tyson said but he guessed it was something like `let it rip' as Kaida opened her eyes and pulled the ripcord. The force of the launch caused Kaida to slide back from the start line by a good meter.

 

Orrin shot forward and was instantly ripping into the course. The first part of the course was a zig zag obstacle. Bamboo shoots were planted into the ground at different points and at different angles. Kaida zigged and zagged between them all just barely missing them. Kai watched Kaida's blade intensely. She cleared the first part of the course in a matter of seconds. The next part of the course was beams that were raised off the ground. There were three in total. They were all set at different heights and each beam was higher then the last.

 

Kaida tilted her head slightly as Orrin jumped up onto the first beam and zipped away. Kai could tell by the little movements that she made that she was as a very good blader. Most bladers would have had to use a rock or twig to launch the blade into the air but Kaida did it just by tilting her head. Orrin jumped to the next beam and then to the next. The last beam faced the pond but there was a good three-meter gap between the last beam and the koi pond.

 

“Now this is where your skill will be tested. Watch Kaida,” Kaida's blade landed on the last beam and then shot forward like a bullet. It was moving so fast that it was burning a trail into the wood beam. Just before Orrin reached the end of the beam Kaida's eyes flashed silver, for only a moment, as Orrin was launched from the beam and clear across the koi pond. Everyone cheered as Orrin did a one eighty and came zipping back towards Kaida. Orrin stopped at Kaida's feet and Kaida smiled.

 

“That was amazing Kaida! Dizzi caught the whole thing on video!”

 

“I would like to see that Kenny. I have never seen my bey blading on screen before.”

 

“I still can't believe you cleared the pond that was easily a eight meter jump!” Max ran his hand through his hair with a far off look in his eyes. Kai was feeling the same thing. It was one thing to jump the blade over a distance but it was anything to do it after all the work that the blader had to go before the jump.

 

“Don't worry Max, Kaida and I are not wanting you all to clear the pond. We just want to see how far you launch the blade. There are three different landing places that you can aim for. The first is the rocks in front of the pond. The second in the first set of rocks in the pond and the last spot is the rocks at the other end of the pond. But remember don't push yourself! Just do your best.”

 

“That's right everyone I have been doing this a lot longer then any of you so I could easily clear the pond. And with my training you all will be able to clear the pond. But for now just run the course the best you can.”

 

“Okay everyone line up where Kaida was standing. Chief get ready to record and,” Tyson walked towards Kai, “I would like to talk to you before you do the course.”

 

Kai nodded as he followed Tyson back towards the house and towards the training room.

Tyson walked into the training and slid the door closed. Tyson looked over his shoulder and could see that Kai was nervous. Tyson sighed as he turned around and faced Kai, “Kai I want to apologize to you for yesterday. I was out of line for pushing you to tell me about your feelings. I didn't think about your feelings or what I was asking. I should have known better.”

 

“No Tyson I am the one that should be apologizing. I need to figure out how to explain my emotions to you better. And I'm sorry for not answering you yesterday when you asked me if I wanted you. I should have said right away that I wanted you and I still do. I just didn't want to hurt you.”

 

Tyson walked towards Kai and wrapped his arms around Kai holding him close. “I am so happy to hear you say that!” Kai wrapped his arms around his dragon and held him close. “I know that I need to be more patient with you. I have been learning about this for three years and I was expecting you to know everything in one day. I was acting like an idiot.”

 

“That makes two of us,” Tyson leaned more into Kai and could now hear the steady beat of his heart. It was calming for Tyson to hear his beloved heart beating for soundly in his chest. It gave Tyson a sort of inner peace listening to its drumming.

 

Tyson pulled away from Kai and looked into his crimson eyes. He could stare into those beautiful eyes until death took him. “I love you Kai.” Tyson leaned up and just before their lips met he heard Kai reply, “I love you my dragon.”

Nia: Well that as angsty chapter. But I didn't want this story to be all lovey dovey. Not all relationships are perfect. I had a lot of fun making new outfits for everyone.

 

Tyson: I'm liking the leather :::spins around looking at himself decked out in leather:::

 

Kai :::eyes Tyson hungrily::: I am most definitely enjoying the leather as well
