Nia: Hey everyone!!! I know I haven't updated in a while but I have been helping out a friend as she worked on one of her stories. Plus this past weekend was my birthday and I partied all weekend long. Thank-you everyone for reviewing!!!

 

Tyson: You seem in better spirits now. This morning you were a bitch from hell!!!

 

Nia: T_T!!!!

 

Kai: You can't blame her Tyson. She had about three hours of sleep and I was betting that she was hung over.

 

Nia: T_T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Tyson: Uhmm Kai I think that is our que to run…. :::backs away from Nia:::

 

Kai: Nia doesn't own Beyblade or anything to do with Beyblade! :::runs away but yells over his shoulder::: She does own all her own characters!!!

Chapter Seven

 

The Dual Diamond System

 

Everyone was now sitting in Tyson's living room. Well everyone but Kenny and Kaida. They had left the rest of the group and were now somewhere in the house. Kai was sitting on the floor with Tyson. Kai felt so calm and relaxed with Tyson so near him. School seemed to drag on forever. But once school was over they had all come back to Tyson's house and Kaida and Tyson put everyone through one hell of a training session.

 

Rei and Max were sitting on the couch working on their homework, as Hilary was chit chatting with Kai. It was almost dark and still Kaida and Kenny were working on something. “I can't believe the training that you all did. And compared to Tyson and Kaida everyone is so far behind.”

 

“I agree Hil. I hope Draciel is okay. She was put through the ringer and now Kaida is doing who knows what to her.”

 

“Yeah Drigger is in the same shape has your blade Max. The only ones that didn't get any damage to their blades were Tyson and Kaida.”

 

Tyson shifted against Kai's chest to look at Rei. “Well of course I didn't get any damage to my Dragoon. Dragoon has been specially made for me.”

 

Kai looked down at Tyson confused. Specially made? “What do you mean Tyson?” Tyson sat up and away from Kai as he turned to face everyone.

 

“Well Kaida made my blade what it is today. She is very skilled when it comes to creating blades and systems that match the blader perfectly. They are all a part of the same system but with differences to match the bladers strengths.”

 

Hilary looked beyond confused. “So then she made your blade what it is today? But you were going through the same training as the others and look at their blades. And your saying that since Kaida made Dragoon the way it is it didn't get damaged?”

 

“Well Dragoon has been damaged before. Actually many times by Kaida's Orrin. When she goes all out I sometimes fear for my life. She has had to replace parts for Dragoon so many times that I have lost count. She is fixing all your blades now. They will end up with the same system that mine has. But only the first stages of the Dual Diamond System.”

 

Max and Rei both stopped what they were doing at hearing this. “The Dual Diamond System?” Kai was even interested. He had seen Kaida's Orrin when they were sitting in the field just the other day. It looked amazing. It was as if it was a combination of a defence ring and an attack ring.

 

“Yeah Kaida created the system about eight years ago. Since she is only a half blood the others in the village didn't really like her that much. Not to mention that even though she is a half blood she was and still is very powerful. So to get away from all the taunting and rude comments Kaida would go off and beyblade and soon she become such an expert that she created the Dual Diamond System.”

 

Rei closed his textbook and looked at Tyson, “What is the Dual Diamond System. I have never heard anything about it?”

 

“Well you wouldn't have heard anything about it Rei. Kaida created it and everything that goes with it. She has a system of training that goes along with it too. Dragoon went through three different stages to get where it is today and Kaida said that I still have two stages left to complete before Dragoon will be the best blade ever.'

 

`The Dual Diamond System is a combination of offence and defence. Other blades have an attack ring and a defence ring. Well the Dual Diamond System is a combination of these two rings. Plus she has added diamonds to the ring to make it almost indestructible. So since the two rings are now one and it has diamonds in it she called it the `Dual Diamond System'.”

 

“She added diamonds to the ring! That would make the ring very expensive Tyson. How can she pay for all this?” Hilary had a far off look in her eyes and Kai had the feeling that she was thinking only about the diamonds. Kai on the other hand was very interested in this style of blade. Especially after seeing Kaida's blade.

 

“Well Hil the diamonds are from the caverns up by the village. She would go and mine them and then work them into the ring. And depending on the bladers skills and strengths she can make the prefect blade. But it is really hard to get it to work!”

 

“What do you mean Tyson?” Max had given up on his homework and was now sitting cross-legged on the couch and was hanging off of every word that Tyson was saying.

 

“Well the blade becomes faster and is a lot lighter. Plus the bit beast inside can feel the new power and if you do not prove yourself to your bit beast then you won't be able to control it.”

 

“Takao is correct.” Everyone jumped as Kaida and Kenny entered the room. Kenny was following Kaida like a puppy and he looked like he was drooling as he watched Kaida walk over and sit beside Tyson.

 

“Uhmm chief are you okay?” Hilary got up and walked over to Kenny and waved her hand in front of Kenny's face. Kenny started and went red in the face. He quickly walked into the room and sat in front of the coffee table and opened up his laptop.

 

“Yes Hilary I am fine. I guess I am at a loss for words. After watching Kaida working on your blades I feel like an amateur. She was adding things to your blades that I would never have thought to add and plus when is ripped the blades they were spinning at the perfect angle. I had Dizzi record it and it was at a 100% spin rate and angle. It was amazing!!”

 

“I am flattered Kenny. Especially coming from you. I have seen first hand some of the things that you have done to these blades and that was some excellent work. But in order to beat this new evil they will all need to master my new system. Takao is still learning so he will join in the training as well.”

 

“Hey! I have had a lot of training. I don't think I need to be lumped into the training with the others. I need to work on the things that we talked about.” Tyson crossed his arms and Kai had to hold back a laugh as Tyson looked like he was pouting.

 

“Oh don't be such a baby Takao. I only meant that you would be going through the same amount of training as the others. I didn't mean that you would be starting at the same level as them. Sometimes I wonder if you even listen to me.”

 

“I heard what you said Kaida.” Tyson's lip stuck out even more and Kai had a huge urge to turn him around and kiss him. But this was important and they needed to find out about the new blades.

 

Kaida tapped her head and Tyson looked like a fish out of water. “You're not really listening to what I have to say are you Takao.”

 

Tyson blushed and Kaida laughed. “So from what I was hearing from Takao he explained the Dual Diamond System to you.”

 

Kai leaned forward, “Not really. I have a few questions if you don't mind Kaida.”

 

Kaida smiled, “Not at all Kai.”

 

“How is it that you combined the attack and defence ring?”

 

“Well I didn't really combine the rings. It was more of merge of the two rings. As you all are aware of you need both rings so that you can attack and defend. What I have done is made is you can change the rings while the blade is still spinning. It takes a lot of concentration but if you can do it then you can go on the attack or the defence at any given point in the battle.”

 

Rei looked awe struck and Max was just blinking in quiet confusion. Rei was the first to speak after hearing what Kaida had said. “How is that even possible? I mean if it could be done then Chief would have made our blades that way all ready.”

 

“Well I will show you.” Kaida reached in the bag at hip and pulled out Orrin. Then she reached down and grabbed her launcher and ripcord. “Has everyone seen Orrin before?”

 

Kai, Tyson and Kenny nodded while the others looked at Orrin in sheer amazement. “As you can see from my blade it looks a lot smaller then the average blade plus, it weighs about six grams less then the blades that you are all used to using. Now take a closer look at Orrin's dual diamond ring.”

 

Kai and everyone else shifted in their seats to get a better look at the blade. This was the first time that Kai had actually examined the blade. “Hey the attack ring looks weird. I mean it looks like it can move off the blade. See Rei look at the four grooves on the top. It looks like it can almost come off. But Kaida wouldn't that be bad in a battle? I mean with the grooves on the top you could lose a piece of the attack ring.”

 

“Well if someone is powerful enough to hit Orrin that hard I guess they could. But the grooves are they because I can invert the ring.”

 

“What do you mean Kaida?”

 

“Well Max the reason I named this system the dual diamond system is because it has a dual system. The grooves can lock in and out of place at my command. Thus Orrin can go from offence to defence anytime during a battle. And the better you get with the system the faster you can change from one style to the next.”

 

“So let me get this straight. In the middle of a battle you can choose to go on the attack or on the defence at any given time. All you have to do is command Orrin to do it.” Rei was scratching is head by the time he finished speaking and Kai had to admit that he didn't really belief what she was saying either.

 

“Well Rei they say seeing is believing so I will saw you.” Kaida grabbed Orrin and placed it to her launcher. She added the ripcord and stood up. With a look of concentration on her face she launched her blade. The blade hit the table and instantly started to spin on the spot. Kai was amazed that she had the control to stop the blade after such a powerful launch.

 

“Wow nice launch Kaida!” Kenny was already recording her.

 

Kaida giggled as she sat down, “Thanks Chief. Okay so I will slow Orrin down so you can watch what I just explained.”

 

Everyone moved closer to the table as they watched Kaida's blade start to slow down. “Okay that is as slow as I am going to ask Orrin to go. I believe that since Kenny is recording he will be able to slow it down some more for you all to watch. The way Orrin is now is on the defence. I always launch my blade this way because I don't always know what kind of power my opponent has.”

 

“That's a really good strategy Kaida.” Rei looked up at Kaida and smiled.

 

“Thank-you Rei. I have been trying to convince Takao to launch his blade that way but he is stubborn and always wants Dragoon to go on the attack.”

 

“Oi! Dragoon is really powerful so why shouldn't I have him attack?!”

 

“Well Takao my Orrin is more powerful then your Dragoon and if I launched against you when the attack ring was out I wouldn't even get a battle out of you. I know Dragoon and I know that you need more training.”

 

Tyson crossed his arms as he stared at Orrin spinning on the table. Kai silently laughed to himself. Kaida was right after all it was a good idea to launch into a battle with the defence active. That way you could figure out how strong your opponent really was.

 

“Okay so I'm going to change the discs now.” Kaida closed her eyes and when she opened them they were glowing slightly. It still kind of freaked Kai out when Kaida and Tyson's eyes would do that. But what was really interesting was that Orrin was also glowing the same soft silver colour. Suddenly the wind picked up as a slight `clicking' noise was heard.

 

Kai gasped, as well as everyone in the room, as Orrin seemed to expand slightly. The four grooves on the top of the blade had clicked apart and away from the blade. You could see the inner works of Orrin. Suddenly the pieces flipped and locked back in place. It happened so fast that Kai thought he was seeing things. Now Orrin was spinning fast again and it looked like the blade was made of glass.

 

“Oh! My! God! That was awesome! I have never seen anything as cool as that in my live!” Max was already jumping around the room. Kai watched as Kaida held out her hand and Orrin jumped off the coffee table and into her out stretched hand.

 

“Now that is why it is known as the Dual Diamond System.”

 

“I can't wait till Draciel is like that! She will be so strong!” Max was now jumping up and down on the couch in excitement.

 

“Whoa calm down Max. You won't be at that stage you a little now. So please sit down and try to relax. I mean Takao only just got his Dragoon at that stage and it took him three years to do it.”

 

Max looked like his world had come to an end. “Of Maxie don't look so upset it only took me three years because I have a lot of other training that I was doing at the time. I mean if I wasn't also off training with the Elders then I would have gotten my blade this way a lot sooner. I have no doubts that it wouldn't take nearly that long for the rest of you.”

 

Max smiled as he glomped the stuffing out of Tyson. Tyson gasped for air as Kai tried to free his Dragon from the death grip of Max. “Thanks Tyson!! If you say we can do it then I know we can!!”

 

“Maxie…. a… air…” Max blushed as he released Tyson and bowed in apology.

 

“I have never seen someone with as much energy as you have Max.”

 

Max grinned as he sat down again. “That's what Markus always tells me too.” Max suddenly blushed as everyone in the room started to laugh.

 

Kaida shook her head as she reached for the bag at her hip. “Well I think it is about time I showed you all your new blades. I know that they were pretty badly damaged in that training session but I had to see what kind of shape your blades were in. And now I know for sure that if you had gone against the evil that Takao and I faced your blades would have been destroyed beyond repair.”

 

Kaida placed the bag on the table and a silence filled the room. Kaida grinned as she opened the bag and looked at the first of the three new blades. “Here you are Max. Your new Diamond Typhoon Draciel.” Max held out his hand as Kaida placed his new blade on his hand.

 

Max's eyes widened like saucepans. “She… she's… beautiful…” Max was at complete loss for words at he looked at his new blade.

 

“Let's see Max.” Rei was leaning over Max and when Rei saw the new blade he whistled. “Wow.”

 

Draciel was shining like an emerald. The blade was Max's signature green but with the diamonds embedded in the ring it shown like a freshly cut emerald. The bit beast emblem had changed and now looked like Draciel was mediating with the kanji for water behind her. “I don't know what to say Kaida. I mean Thank-you but I… I…”

 

“This has to be a first. Max actually can't think of something to say.” Tyson laughed as he nudged Max in the ribs.

 

“Think nothing of it Max. We need your help to fight this and for helping you needed a new blade. One of many stages that Draciel will go through. Okay who is next? Here we go. Rei. Meet your new blade. Diamond Quake Drigger.”

 

Rei looked away from Max's new blade and held out his hand. Kaida leaned forward and placed his new blade in the palm of his hand. When Kaida opened her hand and Rei saw his new Drigger he looked like he was about to faint. The blade was completely white. But the edges were all gold. In the soft light of the room his blade looked regal almost royal in the way it glistened. Drigger looked ready to strike and the kanji for earth was behind him. “Thank-you so much Kaida.” Rei bowed low.

 

Kaida smiled as she reached in the bag on last time. “And now for you Kai. This one I worked very hard on. I figured that since my cousin is now your mate that you would never want him to go into battle without you. So I made sure to make you blade extra special.”

 

Kai could feel his face getting warmer put still stared Kaida right in the eye. “Now I must tell you Kai that your blade is going to be the hardest to master first. I have seen what a strong spirit you have and so I have created this blade to match that spirit. I am sure that Takao is going to help in anyway that he can.”

 

Kai reached out his hand as Kai placed the blade in his hand. “Kai meet Diamond Inferno Dranzer.” Kaida pulled back her hand and Kai stared at his Dranzer in utter wonderment. It was the most beautiful blade that he had ever seen and it was his. The blade was a lot lighter then his out blade and it gleamed mysteriously up at his. Dranzer's appearance on the blade had also changed. It was now a bird engulfed in fire with the golden kanji for fire behind it.

 

“I am still working on the launchers for you all so please bare with me. The launchers are the hardest part to create. As the launchers need to be able to contain the power of the new blades. I will have them done in a few days time. Until then I have some practice blades that you all will be using to get a feel for the new system.”

 

“This is just amazing Kaida. I can't believe that you did this for us.” Rei stood up and walked over to Kaida, and before Kaida could even react, Rei knelt down beside her and gave her a big huge. Kaida smiled as she wrapped her arms around Rei and hugged him back.

 

Kai sighed as he heard the tell tale growling coming from Tyson. Kai reached over and started to rub between Tyson's shoulders blades. Tyson's eyes rolled back and his growling suddenly started to sound more like purring. Kai grinned as Tyson leaned into the feeling and calmed right down.

 

Tyson's eyes fluttered open as he stared dreamily up at Kai, “That was cheating…” His voice sound husky and Kai just grinned.

 

Rei let go of Kaida and sat beside her. “Well I think that is enough for one night. I am going to go and work on the launchers some more. And since I took so long working on the blades I think it is a good idea if you all spent the night again. Gramps doesn't mind and you can all call your families from the kitchen.” Kaida bowed slightly as she got up and left the room. Kai smiled as Kenny jumped up and followed her out of the room.

 

“I think I'll going to go and watch Kaida. I might to able to help her. I know a lot about beyblades.” Max jumped up and followed Kaida out the door.

 

Kai stood up and pulled Tyson to his feet. “I think I have enough excitement for one day. I'm going to bed.” Kai grabbed Tyson's hand and lead him from the room. Tyson was still feeling very calm from the back rub that Kai had given him that it took his mind a few seconds to hear what Kai had to say. And by the time his brain registered what he had said they were standing outside his bedroom.

 

“You tired Kai? Oh…”

 

Kai slid open the door and pulled Tyson in. Kai slid the door closed and pushed Tyson up against it. Tyson eeped at the movement but it was the look in Kai's eyes that stole his breath away and before Tyson could even utter a word Kai's lips were kissing him.

 

Kai pulled back as he freed Tyson's hair from its ribbon tie. “Tired? Not by a long shot.”

 

Tyson grinned as Kai captured his lips once again.
