Kai`s child

"Super battle,Tyson!"Max yelled and put an arm around his buddy`s shoulders.Tyson could only grin."I know".

Kai frowned at them.Even after all these years,they still acted like a bunch of kids.His gaze went to his surroundings.The sun was shining,making this day in july unbearable hot.Like they had done for the last three years,the bladebreakers spent the summer in a small village in the Chinese mountains.Here they trained their abilities within beyblading in peace and quiet.

The people who lived here were used to them,and treated them like their own,and not strangers anymore.And they would never turn down a challenge.Kai could feel the sweat appear on his forehead.Even though he most of the time stayed in the shadows,he felt like he was boiling.He wiped the sweat away with that white scarf of his that he carried around his neck.He was well aware of the fact that it was too hot to wear cargopants and that scarf,but he couldn`t stand to wear shorts,he never had.

Suddenly Rei turned up,Mariah faithfully at his side.

"Hey Kai!Why are you standing here?"he smiled,his fangs glinting in the sun.Kai just gave him a dismissing look.Rei raised his hands in defense.

"Alright,I`ll leave you alone".He eyed his team-captain.

"Geez,Kai!You must be boiling!"

When Kai did not answer,Mariah whispered to her boyfriend:come on Rei,leave the sourpus alone".

She giggled and dragged him along.Kai stared at their backs.The White Tigers and the Bladebreakers were good friends,and they spent the summers up here together,Well,Kevin was visiting America with his girlfriend,and Gary had gone to stay with someone he knew in Hong Kong this summer.

Tyson and Max joined the captain of the White Tigers,Lee,and the three of them went to find something that could cool them down in this heat.
Kenny was sitting in the garden belonging to the house they rented,typing on his laptop,Dizzy.

Kai stayed where he was.He was 22 now,still the captain of his team,like he had always been.He had not really changed much over the years.His hair was still blue and spikey,and he would still wear the blue paint on his cheeks.He still acted cold and arrogant towards others.Suddenly someone hit the gong-gong,making them aware that the dinner was ready.Kai got up and left his spot in the shadow of the tree.Kai was not really surprised when their chief served them rise and springrolls with spices.Their chief was a tiny,chinese man with a huge noes and a smile that always stuck to his face.And he always laughed.

Even Kai had to laugh at all the things he said and did.Tyson,whom recently had been through a haircut(it made him look more mature,but even though he had turned 19 some weeks ago it did not help the fact that he was just as childish as he had always been),of course ate most of them.

After a nice dinner,they gathered in the common room to pan some strategies and that kind of stuff.While sitting there,Mariah noticed the coming of two people,a grown woman and a little girl that maybe was 4-5 years old.

It was the girl that made her curious.The little one had blue,spikey hair,blue marks on her cheeks,just like Kai.Mariah tugged at Kai`s shirt.He just growled at her.

"What?"He pointed at the girl.

"Look at that girl!She looks just like you!"she whispered.The others raised their head,and it did not take them long to realise that mariah was right.She was like a female image of Kai.Kai just ignored it all and continued to talk.The woman said something to the girl,and she sat down on a chair by the entrance.Then the woman came over to them.

"Hello,my name is Sue Peerson.Who would be Mr.Kai Hiwatari of you?"Kai stood up.

"That would be me".

Sue smiled friendly at him and said:I should have known.Could I talk to you in privacy?"Kai raised an eyebrow,but followed Sue away from the table.The others was curious,but continued their talking.

Mariah,being the only girl in their group,appologied and went over to the girl.

"Hello,little one.What are you doing here?"The girl smiled shyly at her,biting her thumb.

"I came to find my daddy".Mariah frowned.Then she took a closer look at the little girl.She looked so much like Kai.Could it be that?...

In the meantime,Sue had started to talk.

"Well,Mr.Hiwatari,you must be wondering why I am here".He just stared at her.

"I have been sent to find you".He snorted.

"Why?"She smiled again.

"It was Rebecca Goodmark`s last wish I did so".Kai was paralyzed.

"Wait a sec,last will?"His mouth went dry.

"Are you saying that Beccy is...dead?"Sue`s face turned sad.

"Yes,Mr.Hiwatari.She was hit by a car,and died from the injuries it caused her".

Kai felt a sting in his chest.Rebecca was his ex-girlfriend,actually his only girlfriend ever.He still cared for her.

"I know this must be hard to hear,Mr.Hiwatari,but she managed to tell us one last wish before she past away".Kai was curious now.

"What?".Sue smiled a little,as if she was thinking of something nice.

"She wanted me to find the father of her daughter,the captain of the Bladebreakers".This struck Kai right in the face.Daughter?
Sue almost started to laugh at the young man`s dumbstruck face.Apparently he had not known that he had a daughter.

"I do understand that this must be a shock for you".Kai stood up,his face expressionless.
"Is there no one else that can take care of her?"His voice sounded cold and unfriendly.

Sue shook her head.

"No,Rebecca`s family dumped her when they discovered that she wanted to keep the baby".

Kai gritted his teeth.Thoughts were swirling around in his head.He had not been aware that she was pregnant when he left her.If he had been then he would not have....he did not know what he would have done.

"You just have to sign some papers,Mr.Hiwatari"Sue said and handed him a pen.He left the room without even looking at her.He needed time to think by himself,to sort out his mind.

"How old are you,sweetheart?"

Mariah asked,in the kind of voice you use when you talk to little children.The girl held up four small fingers.

"And do you know what your daddy`s name is?"She almost held her breath in excitement.The little one nodded her head eagerly.

"What is it then?"The little girl leaned closer so that she could whisper it to Mariah.

"His name is Kai Hiwatavi".

Even though she did not manage to pronounce the last name properly,Mariah understood that it was their captain she was talking about!The girl looked at the pinkhaired lass in front of her,her eyes big and brown.

"What is youv name?My name is Kaisa".she said.(She almost always switches the r with either v or l,because she cant pronounce them properly,just so you know)..Mariah shook her head,as if to clear her thoughts.

"I am mariah"Kaisa smiled at her,the kind of smile only a child can smile,and reached out her arms for Mariah to lift her up.

"I want to come up".Mariah took the little one in her arms and carried her back to the others.

"Hi kitten,who is this?"Rei asked.The girl put her thumb back in her mouth,apparently being shy to all these new people.

"Guys,this is Kaisa Hiwatari,Kai`s daughter".5 pair of different eyes were glaring at her.At that exact moment,Kai came back into the room,his face harder than usual.Sue came right behind,holding out some papers.

"But I need you to sign this,Mr.Hiwatari"she said.Mariah gave Kaisa to her boyfriend.

"Look after her,koi"she said and went over to Kai,who by now was looking furious.

"I cant take care of some damn brat!"he growled.

"It is not even sure that she is mine!The reason I left Beccy was that she cheated on me!".Everyone in the room was now paying attention to the little drama being played in front of them.Mariah put her hands on her hips,indicating that she was just as stubborn as he was.

Then she whispered,as threatning as possible:You sign those papers,Kai".

He was actually so mad that his cheeks had turned red in anger.
"Or are you not man enough for the task?"she snarled.

Mariah was well aware of the fact that the only way you could force a guy into doing something he did not want to do,was to question or challenge his diginity.It always worked with Rei,and Kai was no exception from that rule.He snarled back and grabbed the papers from Sue and signed them.

Sue smiled at Mariah and said:then my work here is done.I will come back in a couple of days to see how you are doing.Her stuff is at the entrance".

She went over to Kaisa and said goodbye to her before she left.
Mariah stared at the bluhaired boy`s angry face for a while before she went over to the little girl.

"Come here,sweetheart",she said and took her in her arms.Then she went back to Kai.She sat down the girl.

"Kai,this is Kaisa.Kaisa,this is Kai".The girl stopped sucking her thumb and clapped her hands.

"Daddy",she giggled.Kai snorted when she reached out her arms towards him.

"Just because I signed those papers,it doesn`t mean I am going to be your father",he said in his cold voice and turned around to leave.Mariah was too shocked to even say a word.She sat down beside Kaisa and stroke her hair.The girl`s pretty,brown eyes were now big and sparkling with tears.

She was about to cry,and mariah wanted to comfort her,but suddenly she turned around and ran.

"Kaisa,wait!"

She turned towards the others,still just as dumbstruck.

"I am so sorry.Rei come help me look for her".Rei appologied to the rest and followed his girlfriend.

Kai was at the moment standing in the bey-room,the only room in the house where the floor was covered with dishes.He launched Dranzer.That girl did really look like him.It was almost like seeing himself as a child again,only that she was a girl and not a boy.But she had Beccy`s eyes,those pretty eyes he had loved.There was no way he could turn all weak and sentimental now,not for all in the world.And Mariah had forced him into this...

He sighed.Beccy could not have been any older than 16 when she gave birth to the girl,considering the girl`s age.What had made her keep it?He wondered.And that name?It seemed like she was named after him aswell.
