Chapter Three - Visiting Old Friends
Rei’s POV Sunday at work
Carefully folding his uniform and putting it in his bag, Rei walked out of the changing room.
“What’s up Rei?” Marci asked. “What’s with the serious face?”
Marci nodded.
“He was an old friend of mine, and apparently the rest of them are here too. So he gave me the address for the apartment they’re staying in. He wants me to visit,” Rei summed up.
“What’s his name, he was very polite and cute,” Marci said with an evil gleam in her eyes.
“Oh, no. I know where you’re going with this.”
“Come on Rei, Please?” Marci begged. A light blush appeared on the bridge of Rei’s nose and spread to the tips of his ears.
“No Marci, I’ll deal with it.”
“Fine, if you must,” Marci pouted. “By Kitty, see you tomorrow.”
“Bye,” Rei grumbled, he hated when Marci called him that. He took a deep breath of the fresh air. Pulling the piece of paper Kai handed him, he set off for the hotel.

Rei stood gawking at the size of the hotel. Looking at the piece of paper, he noticed that the others were on the tip floor.
Sighing, Rei walked in. Everyone was dressed up, it was a hotel for the rich, like Kai. Then someone walked up to him maybe a butler.
“How may I help you sir?”
“Um, hi. My friends are staying here. This is where they’re located.” Rei handed the paper over to the man. “I was wondering if I could locate stairs. Or an elevator, that would be great.”
“Hm, Oh! You’re talking about Master Kai and his friends. Follow me, I’ll show you the way. By the way, my names Josef.” Rei followed Josef to a set of elevators and took the unoccupied one. Ten minutes later they reached the top. When the elevator doors opened, Rei’s eyes widened considerably in shock.
In front of him was a small lobby area with only one door leading somewhere. The floor was a scarlet red plush carpet that made Rei’s feet sink. The walls were an off white color with many paintings hanging off of them. Josef walked ahead to the door which was a dark brown with beautifully embroidered edges. The name HIWATARI was carved in big letters across the door.
Josef tapped on the door, and while waiting for his friends to answer, Rei began to examine to place after saying Good-Bye to Josef who was leaving to go back to work. He heard the creak of the door opening, and turned to see Kai smiling at him.
“I knew you’d show up. Come on in.”
“Um, thanks,” Rei replied walking through the doors. After seeing the halls, Rei couldn’t wait to see what was on the inside.
The floors and walls were the same as the hallway. The room Rei entered looked a lot like a living room, only three times bigger than the average living room. On the far side was a huge entertainment center, with a stereo, television, Game Cube, Xbox, and a play station 2. Their was a couch and some table chairs around their, where it was evidently used recently. On another wall was a fire place with a chimney and another couch in front. The other wall, to the right contained doors.
“Are you done gawking yet? If you are I can show you around. The others won’t be back until an hour or two.” Rei nodded his head, to stupefied to answer.
“Great! But please take off your shoes and but them by the door. And if you don’t want to carry your bag around, you can put it on the couch.” Rei nodded again before slipping out of his shoes and placing his bag on the couch.
Following Kai, he was led to the first of four doors. This held the kitchen where an island(1) was placed in the middle of the room. On one side of the island was for eating and the other side was for cooking. The room was Huge!
Next was the bathroom, with a tub to fit ten people, a shower, a sink and other bathroom essentials.
Then came the dining room. On the ceiling was a chandelier, below was a table to fit fifty
fifty people. The floor was black marble, and the wall was a light tan-ish color. The last door way lead to stairs and on the upstairs level, their was another bathroom, three guest bedrooms and a master bedroom.
The master bedroom was Kai’s, so Rei only got a quick glance before Kai led him away. Inside the floor was a black carpet, blood red walls, and a king sized canopy bed. Everything on the bed was black, sheets, pillow cases, canopy, everything. On one wall was a huge mural of a phoenix that looked like Dranzer. The other bedrooms were guest bedrooms, tan walls and blue carpets.
“Come on, the others will be back soon, or should,” Kai beckoned to Rei who was looking around on of the guest bedrooms. It was probably Kenny’s.
Walking down the stairs Rei thought he heard the television on, and when he reached the bottom he was right. Max and Tyson sat in front of the television, playing some battle game, Kenny on the couch typing away. He turned his head to see Kai clear his throat.
“We have a guest.” that was all Kai said. In turn, the others turned around to see who their guest could be. Rei could have, and did burst out laughing at the twin looks Tyson and Max were giving him. But that stopped as a thump was heard, Kenny had fainted.
