[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Jesica was born in the U.S. Her father had taken off as soon as he got to know that Jesicas mother was pregnant. Her mother died giving birth to her and there was no one left to take care of the little girl. She was sent off for adoption and got to live with the Andersons. She grew up there, not knowing that they weren't her real parents. Even though, Jesica always knew that there was something they were hiding from her. She was a very stubborn and firm young lady. She was eight when she found out that she was adopted, furious that they hadn't told her sooner, young Jesica ran away and never returned to them. The knowledge that she was an orphan brought the feeling of being an outsider, an intruder. She found her way to a pack of street- kids and she spent the next years of her life with them.
Even though the conditions of life were awful, Jesica never complained or thought about going back to the Andersons. She had left that part of her life behind her. She made some friends with the other kids in her age, but her slate hair was a big problem. With her black -and white hair and ruby eyes, she was easily recognized. That brought troubles to the pack of youngsters and she was driven away. Cast out from the small society she'd been a part of for almost two years.
She lived alone in an ally somewhere in Boston. With no friends or family to keep her company, she soon became a bit of a loner. She trusted no one but herself and was convinced that everyone wanted to harm her. She didn't know why they would want that, but she didn't really care. She thought that she was better off alone anyway. She learned to be a survivor, she learned how to stay alive in her loneliness and she grew strong from it. That's why she the leader of the Unholy Alliance, she is and always will be the strongest of them. Maybe not in heart, but in spirit.
Even though all the tough years alone she never really thought about how life was supposed to be. Not until she met the strange girl by the doc one night.
She was out walking like she usually did at nighttime. She preferred to walk during the night because there was a smaller chance to meet someone in the dark than in the light of the day. She was walking in the harbor when she caught a glimpse of a girl standing by the doc. The girl was pale and had long white -ish hair. She was just standing there, looking out in the ocean. Jesica were just about to sneak off when the girl said
“Hello Jesica, don't run away from me. I mean no harm” She froze, how could the girl know her name? She'd never seen her before in her life and still she was standing there talking to her. Curious, she walked up to the girl. There was something very strange about her. She seemed to be more of a shadow, like she wasn't there at all... The girl spoke.
“How is your life these days? Rough, alone? You know I'm right Jesica. You can be alive for a thousand years without ever really live. Are you living? Or are you just focused on staying alive?” Jesica jerked, who was this girl and who did she think she were? Come here and tell her that she didn't know what it meant to live. She was just about to turn around and walk away when the girl said something that made her think.
“Still running are you? What if I could give you an answer, the answer to all your questions? Would you believe me then? Just think about it, there must be something more than this life, right? Life don't just pop out of thin air, it must come from somewhere and therefore it must go somewhere when our souls leave this earth. There is a higher existence. I'll be gone soon but remember what I've told you. There is always hope...” Jesica just stood there, thinking. The girl was right. This wasn't living, this was a battle to stay alive, a battle you were doomed to be defeated in. There was no escaping death but why should you fear it. She gazed out into the ocean. What if she was right? This world had done her hard and cold hearted, why should she stay here when there was something more? She turned her head towards the girl and asked
“Who are you?” and then she jerked. The girl was gone. Frowning, Jesica turned her gaze back to the sea. Had the girl been there, or had she just been an imagination? But did it really matter? She had opened Jesicas eyes and that was the important thing. It was time, time to leave this place that had cost her so much pain and suffering. Hopefully the sea would carry her home. The black -and white haired girl spread her arms and stood motionless for a few seconds, she wind played with her hair, dared her to take the last and final step. And then she let go. She fell towards the darkened surface of the sea. The cold water hitting her body like a sledge. Her breathing was cut off and the salt water stung her eyes. “Eternity, here I come” Jesica thought as she slowly sunk towards the bottom of the harbor.
And then everything faded to black...
