I saw it, I saw the end...
The darkness swept back over the lands and dawn was drawing near. Ray felt the warmth from the first sunray that hit his neck. He sat quiet with Anya's hand in his, the girl was still asleep. Her calm breaths comforted him somehow. With a shudder, Anya's eyes flew open. At first, her eyes were frightened, but then her eyes fell upon him. As her gaze met his, she smiled. Ray felt relieved, the look she'd had in her eyes yesterday was gone.
“You really scared us yesterday.” He said to her. Her face expressed weariness as she smiled a bit. She blinked and gazed straight into his eyes, he got the strangest feeling that she could see right through him. Read him like a book.
“What happened? Why did you run off like that?” he asked, feeling a bit desperate. He could see the same separated look return to her eyes. She suddenly looked lost in despair and fear, like she had gone lost and couldn't find her way back. She sat up and her gaze at him was intense.
“ Thou shall not slay, the bible says. I committed a death sin yesterday. I'm not human, but I'm afraid that if there was one piece of me that was still human, it disappeared yesterday. That demon killed my family and intended to hurt Tyson. I didn't kill him out of mercy, or because I had to. I killed him because I hated him, I wished to see him burn.” Her grip of his hand hardened, the desperate look in her eyes became more and more intense. She looked like she was drowning and he was the only one who could save her.
“I understand that you hated him. I would too if he'd killed my family and hurt my friends. But the reason to why you disappeared like that was a lot deeper than that right?” he lifted his other hand and put it on hers. Squeezing her hands tight, the both of them looked like two shatters, clinging on to each other.
“Ye...yes. I saw it yesterday, the future, I had a vision. I saw... I saw...” she couldn't stop the tears. They searched their way down her cheeks in wide streams. She loathed herself for being so weak. Ashamed, she bent her head forward so she wouldn't have to see Ray in the eyes. Ray hesitated a bit for a second, he still remembered her reaction from yesterday. But then her leaned forward and embraced her. Hugging the shivering girl tight, he whispered to her:
“Sch, you don't have to tell me. It doesn't matter, whatever it is we'll be fine as long as we stick together. You are not alone Anya, you've got me. You've got us, all of us and we are here for you. Remember that, always.” She hugged him tight. (Thank you Ray, you don't know how much that means to me) she thought. She needed their friendship and support, she realized. She swore to herself that she would do anything to protect them from the misery that lied ahead.

Together, the six Bladebreakers left their hotel and stepped on the bus that would take them to the airport. No one dared to say anything. All of them (except for Ray of course) wondered what had happened yesterday, but they were too afraid to upset her to say anything about it.
While on the bus, Anya turned to Tyson.
“Thank you for saving me yesterday. I owe you my soul.” Tyson had been unusually quiet today. Now he seemed to be relieved that Anya had been the one to break the awkward silence. He smiled widely and waved his hand in a warding gesture.
“No big thing, that's what friends do, right guys?” everyone nodded, including Kai. She smiled thankfully before becoming serious again.
“But you really shouldn't have done it. This demon was sloppy, a huge mistake. I doubt any others will make the same mistake. In the future I would be happy if you would let me handle the demons, I couldn't live with one of your lives or souls on my conscious.” Her eyes pinning them.
“We'll try.” Max smiled. He quickly returned to his happy, cheesy self as soon as they got that out of the air. The next ten minutes was happy ones. Everyone except Kai was smiling and chatting. Tyson actually did a small charade for them. They had just left Stockholm's inner city and were heading towards the airport called `Arlanda'. The bus had gotten up some speed when the chauffeur stepped on the brakes. The bus stopped with a shrieking noise. With a howl, Tyson fell off his seat. There was a worried second before he got up and announced that he was fine. No one was harmed and they turned to the chauffeur to find out why he'd stopped like that. The man driving the bus just pointed out the window.
Outside stood the five girls known to the Bladebreakers as the Unholy Alliance. Mila, Trisa, Jesica, Hera and Kelinka stood in a row. They blocked their half of the road completely. Their leader, Jesica walked over to the door of their yellow BBA bus and knocked on it. Their chauffeur seemed confused but Kai told him to open it and he did so. Jesica stuck her head inside the door and asked:
“Hey guys, you seem to have some room left. Could you give us a ride to the airport?”

Some minutes later, the bus was moving again. And this time, with a few more people on it. Trisa and Kelinka shared a seat. The white haired girl seemed to be a bit shy and drawn back. In front of them, Jesica and Hera shared another seat. Hera seemed to be kind and caring and Jesica was a born leader. She was outgoing and obviously not afraid to speak her opinion. Mila sat on the seat in front of them, she seemed to be as unfriendly as Hera seemed kind. The boys, minus Kai of course, seemed to be a bit intimidated by her. Kai stared at her with an intense gaze, he hadn't forgotten how she'd treated Tala. Mila suddenly looked up and snapped at him.
“What are you staring at human?!” she hissed. Jesica half by half rose in her seat and threw Mila a very warning gaze. Kai however didn't seem to take any notice in her. He ignored her, and it seemed to infuriate her. She opened her mouth to hiss at him again, but Jesica put a hand on her shoulder. With a furious look, Mila shut her mouth again.
“Don't bother about Mila. She's a bit hostile in the beginning, until you get to know her. You may excuse our bad attitudes, we are not rude in generally. We have just been treated bad by people sometimes.” Jesica said honestly. She leaned back in her seat again, now that Mila seemed to have calmed down. The boys seemed to relax a bit, but Anya seemed tense. The got an overwhelming feeling that there was something very wrong with these girls. She sat and twisted her blade between her hands. She felt a bit calmed by the cold surface against her skin. Suddenly, it slipped out of her hands and rattled to the floor. She was just about to pick it up when Kelinka bend down and did the same. But as the girl's hand touched the blade, she jerked and pulled it away. As if it had burned her. She drew a harsh breath.
“How can you handle it? Such strength... I've never felt anything like it.” The girl gazed up at Anya who bent down and picked up the blade. Anya met her eyes, she felt surprised as she felt the strong presence of the girl in her. Behind Kelinka, the pink haired girl Trisa had an excusing look in her eyes.
“Don't worry about Kelinka, she's psychic.” Trisa said. Somehow, she seemed a bit stressed about Kelinka's action. Anya nodded.
“I understand.” Trisa and the others seemed to be relieved by her answer, except for Kelinka. She frowned.
“Don't you know who we are? Don't you remember...?” she asked Anya. Now, Anya felt completely lost, had she missed something? But then something even more strange happened. Mila suddenly flew out on Kelinka.
“Shut up! Why can you never shut up?! We've gone through this, so just shut up Kelinka!” She yelled at the girl. Kelinka seemed hurt and tears filled her eyes. Trisa seemed to become furious on Mila.
“No Mila, it's you who never shut up. Leave her alone for once will you? You are always mean to everyone and you always have to put us down, and personally, I'm fed up with your attitude! Stop the bus, I'm leaving right now! I've had it!” Trisa screamed at Mila who seemed to be totally unaffected by the accusation. Hera on the other hand seemed to be a bit shaken by her teammates argument. Finally, Jesica stepped up and ended the screaming conversation. Calm and quiet, she said:
“Trisa you don't mean that, and we all know it. Mila, it won't kill you to be nice to us. After all, we are all family you've got. If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything. Kelinka please, we've gone through this and now is not the time.” The girls fell quiet and Jesica turned to Anya. “Don't bother about Kelinka, she must have mixed you up with someone else.” Her tone made clear that this discussion was over. The Bladebreakers however threw questioning glances at each other. These girls were very strange indeed.

The rest of the trip had been tense and everyone seemed to be happy to get off the bus at the airport. As soon as the Unholy Alliance had gotten off the bus, they disappeared into the crowd of people. Anya and the others gathered their things and went to check in their luggage. All the contestants had been given their own private plane that would take them to France. After check in, they went to their plane and took their seats. Once again, Anya sat next to Kai. She didn't seem to be more relaxed this time than she'd been the last time they'd flown. During take off she looked like she was going to faint, but once they were in the air she seemed to calm down a bit.
Anya didn't like flying in a plane. She preferred flying on wings. But of coarse it wasn't up to her to choose. She felt a bit tense the first hour, but soon the boredom overwhelmed her and she felt herself being tired.

Kai watched Anya fall asleep. Soon her head began to glide until it was rested against his shoulder. Against his will, he felt a bit pleased with her presence. It was comforting somehow. He hadn't forgotten about the odd moment by the window a few nights ago. He didn't know what had happened then, but somehow she had spellbound him. He didn't know if he liked or disliked her, he just never seemed to get a grip of it...

On a different plane, the Unholy Alliance sat quiet. Mila felt guilty, Jesica was right. They were her only family, the only ones who cared about her. And now she'd hurt them again, she just couldn't understand why she did those things sometimes. Instigated and said things that she didn't mean.
“Kelinka” she said. Kelinka looked up at her. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said before on the bus...” Kelinka smiled at her.
“Don't worry about it Mila. You were right, I shouldn't have said anything to her. I just became so confused, she doesn't know who we are... The thing inside her blade, Nazgul, I have never felt anything like it. I just couldn't touch it, it was evil. Pure evil in that blade, she must me magnificent if she can handle it. But she is struggling, she will not make it. She needs our help, that's why I asked her if she didn't recognized us.” She paused a moment. “Then I saw It” Trisa frowned.
“What Kelinka? What did you see?” she asked.
“I saw The End...”
