Chapter eleven.

 

All four of the guys were walking and talking, Kai was not into the conversation, which was taking place, and he walked behind them. ` This was a bad idea. I shouldn't even be with them here.' Kai thought, he was thinking of turning back, ` The mansion isn't that far I can walk back there now, but I guess I don't want to go just yet.' Something told him that more was yet to be seen. He trusted his instinct and kept walking. They had been walking for an hour or so when the others got tired and decided to go to an ice-cream parlor. They all ordered. Kai couldn't understand how easily normal people got tired, he never did, but then again he wasn't normal.

 

They were eating ice-cream with Max and Tyson goofing around as usual. Kai was through eating. He was staring out the parlor window. People came and people went. They seemed like a people in a movie to him. The others too started to look at the window. Kai noticed that they had silenced. He turned around and asked, “ What?”

 

“ Man check out that chic, she's …” Max said pointing towards the window.

“ She's…” Tyson said

“ Oh God! How do I look?” Rei asked.

 

` There v go again, (this had been for the second time that the three of them were getting worked up over a girl). Don't they ever get tired of this?' Kai wondered. He too looked in the direction his friends were looking, he looked over to the wall where the girl was standing, his gaze froze.

 

“ Oh God!” Kai said.

“ We know, she's so hot.” Rei said.

“ She's cute” Max added.

Tyson had to say something too but he couldn't, he just was too preoccupied looking at the girl.

 

“ No, no, no!” Kai said again and again, he kept repeating himself.

The others looked at him strangely, “ What is it?” Rei asked finally.

 

“ Oh God no.”

“ Will u quit it with the nos' already? Tell us what's wrong Kai.” Tyson said

 

Kai just said, “ Lisa.” He started to walk out he parlor and towards the girl.

 

“ It's not cool for guys to reach out to girls, Kai.” Max said, he had made his own set of rules for dating and everything else in the world. This rule was one of his own.

 

Kai didn't listen he just kept walking, the others followed. The girl looked at four boys coming her way, first she didn't quite see who they were, but when they came into view she recognized one of them. She looked at him, surprised. Her big gray eyes shining with unshed tears. She uttered a name, “Kai”.

 

He kept on walking, he knew that Lisa was watching him, ` Why am I doing this? I went away from her because I was afraid I would put her in danger, and now I am walking towards her, what's wrong with me?' Kai thought. He was only an inch away from her when he stopped.

 

The guys behind him were thinking that their slate-haired team captain had lost it big time. The were looking at the girl who's eyes were fixed on Kai. They both stared at each other. ` What's goin on?' Tyson wondered and saw Rei mouthing the same question to him, he shrugged and looked at the scene in front of him. His team captain and the girl kept staring at each other for several minutes; it was like they were in some kind of spell. Tyson was about to shout when he looked in amazement at what was happening in front of him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, it all happened so fast, Kai walked closer to the girl, the girl put her hands around his neck, Kai bent down and kissed her? He kissed her? Kai actually kissed a girl? Tyson was getting his head around the idea, and looked towards his friends who too had a puzzled look on their face. The kiss ended and a smiled crossed the girl's face, “ It's real.”

“ Yes it's real.” Kai said and started to kiss her again, his arms went around her and she relaxed.
