Chapter five life or something like it

That night at Rei's house 12:15 am

Ring rrring rrrring

“Shut up I'm coming I'm coming” Rei grumbled sticking his hand from under the blanket and groping for the phone he finally found it dragging the still ringing appliance underneath the covers.

“`Elo?”

“Rei? Rei oh thank god I got a hold of you”

“Anna do you have any concept of how late it is?”

“Yes I know it late but max I got another note!”

“Really?” Rei said now wide a wake

“Yes really and Rei this guy is starting to get personal it is really scaring me so I was wondering can I come over please I'll let you back on the case.”

“Your manipulative did you know that?”

“Yep see yah in a few k?”

“Right I'll be in bed you still have your key yes?”

“Yes I still have it see yah soon.”

Anna walked in to mat foyer 10 minutes later with the over night bag slung over her shoulder. She dropped the black bag and crept up the stairs to the master sweet where she new her partner would be and sense she new she would not be able to sleep she was going to bug him till he woke up and decided he would entertain her. Oh the evilness of her. She smiled as she crept up on her sleeping partner and grabbed the glass of water off his bed side table smiled pulled the covers off his body and poured the ice cold liquid on to his pajama clad form.

“ahhhhhh”

Zelda groaned Anna was here god why was she here at this time of night “sigh” she hurriedly put on her night gown and went to try and stop her master from killing his partner. “Sigh” this was going to be along day.

Anna smiled at her now very pissed very wet partner as he glared at her from the place on the floor where he had landed after her wake up call…. Yah he was mad really mad.

“Anna what possessed you to wake me up at 12 in the morning?” he growled out trying not to shout

“I got another letter and um I cant sleep so you must entertain me.” She said smiling

“Why is it that you always find some way to annoy me?”

“Cause if I didn't your life would be like really, really dull now wouldn't it?”

it was then right be for Rei lost all control and killed his best friend that Zelda walked in.

“Master Rei why are you on the floor?” the elder woman asked snickering at her employers' predicament

“Because my partner is evil.” he muttered

“Me evil what on earth would make you think that? every one knows I'm an angle”

“Yes master Rei why would you think that?” Zelda said while throwing a smile towards Anna

“God your all against me aren't you?” Rei said throwing his hands in the air in frustration

“no master Rei against you where did you get such a silly idea”

“Yah Rei, Rei I got nothing but love for yah”

“shut it anna so what was it you said about another letter?”

“it was from the same guy he said that he would be coming after the ones I am most close to and that mean you Zelda maybe chief I dunno.”

“Anna do you know how sad that is you really need more friends” Rei said rolling his eyes

“Shut up Rei it's not funny” she said pouting

“Don't be rude” Zelda said as she smacked Rei over the head.

Just then the phone rang

“Hello?” Rei answered as he picked it up

“Rei this is the chief is Anna there?”

“Yah she is standing right next to me why?”

“We have a problem. Another one of the suspects has been kidnapped the vics brother in law just showed up and is claiming that she hasn't come home from work yet.”

“Oh we'll be right their chief thanks see you soon”

“That was chief what did he want?” Anna asked looking more then a little nervous

“Kate lintin has turned up missing we need to head in.”

“Oh of course sorry to wake you Zelda.”

“No problem Anna dear now you two make sure to be careful.”

“Okay Zelda we will.” Rei said giving the elderly woman a kiss on the cheek, grabbing his jacket and leaving his home

“That goes double for you Anna dear.” She said hugging the younger woman and giving her a push “now out you go we must find this crook must we not?” the elderly woman said smiling at Anna

“Yes I guess we must I'll see you later Zelda keep safe.” Anna replied closing the door as she stepped outside.

At the 27th precinct 10 minutes latter

Anna sat at her desk looking At the file the chief had just handed her

“so what do you think?” Rei asked

“I think I know this guy.” Anna said sighing

“You what?” Rei asked hoping he had heard wrong

“I said I think I know him this seems like the same m.o as the guy who killed my parents and little sister.” Anna replied sighing again

“Maybe it's a copy cat?”

“That's what I thought but either way how would they know to send me the letters and not you I mean we are both working the case… I dunno maybe I'm paranoid.” Anna sighed for the third time and went back to reading.
