Chapter 11.

It was around second period that Tyson found himself standing by his locker; head inside, muttering angrily to himself before pulling out and slamming it shut. "Rrrrrr," he growled back more angry words.

The crowd of students in the hall watched their number one popular guy freaking out over what they didn't know, but when Ozuma glared at them they quickly turned their gaze away.

"How could he do it to me?!" Asks Tyson. "How could he skip school today?!"

"Maybe he forgot what day it is?" He rubs his best friends back. "One time I slept through the first two periods before my mom realized that I was still in bed."

"I doubt it; the track meet is today, I'll bet that jerk forgot about that too."

"Tyson, come on." Protest the shorter boy. "I'm sure Rei has a good enough reason."

"So then you know?"

Both boys look over there shoulder and down, spotting Kenny standing just two feet behind them. Blinking, Tyson makes a shocked sound. "Kenny?"

"Good morning Tyson, Ozuma." He adjusts his glasses. "It's a fine morning we're having." He blushed due to the attention he was getting from Tyson.

Grabbing the boy by his shoulders, Tyson gave him a little shake. "You said- "So then you know", what Kenny, what do I know?!" He shook the boy a bit more. "Did something happen to Rei?"

Letting out a breath of air once he was let go, Kenny fixed his glasses again. "Oh! Ahaha, I guess you don't then never mind- forget I said anything- is that Zeo calling you Ozuma?" He said using the other boys weakness to get him away from him- if only he had something to say to get rid of Tyson. How was he supposed to know that his friend was ranting about something else.

"Oh nice try buddy, come on!" Tyson was beginning to shout now. "What happened to Rei?!"

"He spent the night at another guys house!" Kenny shouted on the brink of fear that he may be beaten for an explanation.

Tyson looked dumb-founded for a second, then his brows knit themselves close together as his nerdy friends words began to sink in. Not even Ozuma has seen the usually cheerful boy this angry. The crowd in the hall began to whisper seeing as how you couldn't exactly ignore such a high pitched voice as Kenny's. No one could believe that the nicer of the popular's could cheat on the head of them. It was just unheard of! At this rate the entire school would know by fourth bell and that wasn't gonna be good for anybody; Tyson most of all.

"Whose?"

"Whose, what?" The shrimps voice piped as he cowered from his best friend.

"Whose house did he stay at? Was it someone I know!?" The angered boy leaned over asking. "Was it this Brooklyn that I keep hearing about?! I'll bet it was him, he came around by the restaurant the other day."

"Uuum, Tyson," Ozuma taps his best friend on the shoulder.

"That sneaky jerk; probably waited until Rei got home and ambushed him into bed with him." He brushed Ozuma's finger away.

"Tyson?" He tapped his shoulder again.

"And ten to one that so-called-boyfriend went along with it because he thought that I wouldn't know, well haha because I've got Kenny!" He slings an arm around the shorter boy. "And he knows and tells me everything, isn't that right bud'?"

"Uuuh, sure."

"Exactly."

"TYSON!" This time Ozuma gave the boy a shove.

"Whaaat?"

"It wasn't Brooklyn."

"Actually, he was the guy that told me about it."

That confused Tyson even more. "No foolin'?" He scratched his head. "So then where is he?"

"That's what I was gonna tell you," Ozuma took a step back- just incase. "Saturday, Rei told me that he was going to a party at some kid named Kai's house. Lee was invited but the guy said Rei could come too." Shrugging he added lamely. "I didn't know he'd cheat on you."

"So.... Lee's there too?"

"Probably."

"Yeah and besides," Kenny slips out of Tyson's hold. "Rei doesn't seem like the type to cheat no matter how good looking the guy is."

"Kenny's right, Ty'. It's not Rei's style."

Tyson was visibly shaking as he balled his fist raising them to the ceiling, shouting. "AAaaaaaa!!!!!!!"

"Uuu-hhh, s-s-sorry Tyson, that was the bell. I'd better get going." Says Kenny backing away in the crowd. "See you, Ozuma."

"Whatever." Replied the boy trying to calm down his fuming friend. "Relax Tyson, seriously, I don't think Rei would cheat on you. He loves you too much to do that."

"What makes you so sure? He's always acting so weird now adays, for all we know he could be living double lives."

His posture drops in frustration. ".....Tyson. Cool off a bit, Rei may still come to school it's only second period. Smart guy like him wouldn't miss a day for nothing."

Tyson seemed to consider that. Ozuma was right. Rei only missed school twice and on those times he said he was working and it couldn't be put off because he didn't wanna get fired. Maybe today was no different and this Brooklyn jerk was just trying to get him mad enough at Rei so that he'd wanna break up with him. Yeah! How could he believe the lies of someone he doesn't even know? Especially about a guy as nice as Rei.

The sides of his mouth curl into a smile and he begins to laugh. "Oh man, I'm such an idiot!" Declared the, once again, cheerful male. "I don't know what I was thinking- tch, Rei spent the night with someone else. He wouldn't do that."

Grinning, Ozuma shifts the straw in his mouth with a nod. "You see, all it took was a little rationalizing and the problem was sol-..."

"What rational? I'm gonna beat the snot out of that lying dog Brooklyn and make him wish he never even knew Rei." He titled his head back with a triumphant laugh.

"Or we could beat some guy up," shaking his head at the logic he agrees. "Yeah."

"We better get to class. Mr. Yoon said it's my ass if I'm late again; last thing I wanna do is stay after when I schedule beatings." Taking off down the hall, he missed Ozuma following after him and when the red and gray haired teen slowed to a stop upon seeing Zeo hiding in the bathroom entrance.

Steering off the beaten path, he enters the bathroom and closes the door. "Zeo?"

I promised I wouldn't touch him. Kai told his self for the tenth time since he had woken up that morning.

The Russian was surprised to find the cat-like boy still in his bed, curled up against him in a hug and making sighing sounds like he were having a very good dream. Dreams... this was Kai's dream. To have that boy that he had fallen in love with in his arms, while in his bed, sighing his name while the two of them connected. But this dream was more of a preview with grievances. Namely that Rei has a boyfriend. Who is this boyfriend anyway? Surely he can't compare to him, he couldn't, he's just a middle schooler.

With a firm nod, Kai was sure that Rei would see the light if he just spent a bit more time with him. There was no way that he couldn't have felt the same way he did that night- sure, people have quickies all the time but so few of them leave any kind of impression on anyone. The sleeping boy wrapped his arm around Kai's waist; the Russian didn't think that was so bad, but then Rei started planting little dreamland kisses on his chest.

"Rei... Rei, wake up." Whispering seemed to have no effect on him, but then again he didn't really wanna leave this spot. Giving him a little shake, he let go of his crush when he began to move. "Rei?"

"It feels like I was hit by a car." He rubbed a hand through his hair; one eye cracking open at a time. Through the haze he squints at Kai then his eyes widen from shock and he pushed his way from the bed to the floor. Grunting on contact, he placed a hand on his butt giving it a quick rub. "What time is it? How long have we been asleep?" Standing, he looked around for a clock.

"It's about 10:45, second period just ended."

Dashing across the large, mostly purple colored, bedroom he searched for the bathroom. Kai watched him a moment, then pointed a finger to the right when Rei turned a questioning look at him.

"Thank you." He moved to that direction. "Can I use your bathroom?"

"Sure, but... what's wrong with missing a day?" Asks Kai, getting off the bed as well.

The frantic boy shot his bed buddy a dirty look before closing the door. "I've only missed two days since I've come here and they were good, honest reasons. I'm not gonna mess that up because I'm a little...." he waved his hands for the word, but since he couldn't find it, he just chose to lock the door before the advancing Kai could open it. "Who doesn't have a lock on the bathroom door?"

"I don't," says a clouded voice through the thick door. "I don't see a need for it since it is my room." Turning the knob he opens the door. "So,"

"So what," he held the door in attempt to close it back. "That doesn't mean you can just watch me get undressed... it's wrong."

"It's not wrong, we're both male," Kai strutted in like he were making it clear he owned the place as he began to undress. "Nothing wrong with seeing each other naked since we've got the same things."

Rei had to admit that, yeah, his eyes are on the steadily undressing teen but that didn't mean he had to do it too. "That may be true, but I don't want you having a graphic picture of what mine looks like compared to yours." He quickly turned himself around when Kai's pants came off. Scrunching his eyes closed, he prayed that Kai would just get in the shower and let him wait for his turn, he was already late what difference would it make.

"Are you that much smaller? I don't care. Ian's bigger than me and I'm bigger than-..."

Covering his ears, Rei spoke in a neutral tone. "Do you have to talk like that? .....At least I know where you get it from." He said referring to that fowl mouth red head.

"Come on, Rei," the mentioned person heard the water start. "We can wash each others backs."

Turning when he heard the glass door slide over, he sighed. "I don't want you seeing how dirty I am either."

Kai laughed to that, and his voice was kind of drowned out when he spoke, so Rei could guess he was washing his hair. "You still smell good, so I doubt you're dirty at all."

There was no getting rid of this guy; Lee was right, Kai is nuts. But how could he get out of there? Heading toward the door, he was startled to feel a strong pair of wet arms wrap around him. He moved quick for a wet, naked guy. Rei planned to shrug the boy off of him, but he didn't move.

"I made a promise to you, that I wouldn't touch you." Kai began to unbutton the boys shirt from the position he was at, pulling it away once he reached the last one, he turned Rei around. Smiling, he walked forward so that he could press him against the bathroom door. "I'm not gonna do anything wrong, I just think it's faster if we bathe together."

What does he think he's doing right now? Opening his mouth to speak he closed it. I wanna leave but.... I don't know, I don't feel threatened by Kai. Maybe he's got a point, no sense in one person being any slower than the other- who am I kidding! It makes no sense at all, he just wants to get me naked.

Kai watched as Rei had a mental struggle with himself, then his attention was pulled away by the cloud forming around them. Looking back at the frozen, kitten before him, he smiled. He looked even more adorable than normal. But Kai thought he should stop picking on him, if he didn't wanna join him, he couldn't force it. "Hey, if you don't-..."

"Okay. And you did promise after all." Pressing a hand to the Russians chest, he walked away from the door, stripping his pants and boxer away. Stepping into the shower, he held the door open. "Well come on, my back isn't gonna wash itself."

Shaking his head, Kai walked back into the shower closing the door.

Ten minutes later the two of them got dressed and ready for school; Kai insisted that they just stay at home, and Rei replied with, if we're gonna stay home than I'd be leaving anyway. So it's off to school for them. Since he had nothing to change into, Rei was stuck wearing his cities from last night, and Kai put on his uniform.

"It's not gonna hurt you any to wear one of my uniforms." Says Kai. "I have three."

"It'll kill me, what are people gonna say if I go to my school wearing high school clothes?" He slipped his feet into his sneakers. Reaching up for his hair tie, he remembered that he didn't bring one and cursed under his breath.

Coming up behind him, Kai grabs the boys hair into a ponytail and ties it off for him. "I like your hair out." He mutters to himself. "It makes you look unapproachable."

"Is that a good thing?"

"It's great," he dropped his hands from the boys soft mass of hair. Reaching back up, he swept his hand through the bushel coming from the band. It's as nice as I remember it. He muses. How could I have gotten them mixed up? How could Rei stay in China when his brother had moved? Most siblings as close as they seem act like they wanna be together all the time. I wonder what happened.

"I'm ready to go." Rei adjust his ponytail a bit lower than Kai had placed it, and turned with a smile. noticing the stare he asks. "What?"

"........Do you remember me, Rei?" Kai's voice sounded far away. "I don't know what I'd do if you-...."

"I do but.... it doesn't make a difference now. Past is past and I wasn't seeing anybody then and neither were you."

That surprised him. Who was Kai seeing. "What?"

"Well, aren't you and Tala going together?"

"Are you crazy? I don't even have a crush on him... we fooled around a bit, but mostly we're just like brothers."

"Yeah well, with the way he wards me away from you, he doesn't think so."

"He does. It was him who told me that we'd be better off as brothers." He turned his attention to the window when he heard a horn honking louder than the city itself. "Who the hell is that?"

"That sounds like Lee's car." Going to the window, he peered out. "It is. What's he doing here?"

"Rei!" The horn blared again. "Come on dude! I brought your clothes!"

"Guess we'd better get going," says the boy, eager to go. Staying with Kai was nice, but he didn't wanna talk about back then. It brought up more memories than just the one in topic, and since he didn't have his pills Rei had to use mental power to keep it together. "I'm sure Lee will give us both a ride."

"Yeah," Kai knew the subject was closed, so following Rei out the door they went out to the Chinese boys car.
