Chapter 11
"Serena what's happening? Everything's being destroyed!" Kari yelled over the intense battle raging right infront of them.
"We have to find my mother, she can stop this!" Serena grabbed Kari's arm and began to run to find Queen Serenity when suddenly a voice like the devil himself called out "where are you going moon bitch!?" Kari and Serena turned to face self-named Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom. "Leave our kingdom now!" Serena shouted. Kari stared at the woman for a moment before she relized who she was, or rather, had been. "Serena she-she's the girl who worked in the palace with my mother!" She stated wide eyed to the princess who was equally shocked. "No way! Why would someone who worked with your mother and Darien be attacking our kingdom!?""Because you're a bunch of selfish beings. You hoard all of your powers and long lifespans for yourselves. You close your eyes to the pain and suffering of the humans on earth, but come to steal our men for yourselves. You call yourselves gods and goddesses, but don't gods and goddesses bless others?" Queen Beryl ranted.
"That's not true. We do see the sufferings of others and we use our powers to help them as much as we can without taking away their dignity." Serena defended her mother and kingdom."All lies. You stole the most precious man away from me and I'll never ever forgive you. I'm going to rule this universe and you won't be living to see it!" Queen Beryl raced at Kari and Serena with a sword ready to kill them. Serena stepped boldly in front of Kari protecting her from Beryl.
"Serena...!" Kari cried helplessly behind her outstretched arms and just as she was about to hit Serena a single red rose hit her hand stopping the attack. "Who's there"? "I Prince Darien will never allow you to hurt these girls!" He jumped infront of Kari and Serena protectivly. "Serena take Kari and run!"
"But what about you. I can't just leave you!" Serena argued back.
"Run Serena!"
"Prince Darien of earth why do you choose to protect a little retch like her? Why not come and join the Dark Kingdom in victory and rule with me?"
"Absolutely not Beryl. My loyalty is with my fiance. Why would I want to join this evil cause? You've been brainwashed by this evil monster Beryl wake up!" Darien replied.
"Such insolence, no one speaks to me that way!" Queen Metalia destroy our enemies!" Beryl shouted and the massive monster in the sky threw energy at the trio. Darien was lifted off the ground.
"Darien Darien...!" Serena shouted as she ran to the edge of the balcony and jumped off, being carried in the unnatural winds towards her lover and what only Kari knew as her tragic end.
"No... Serena run!" Darien screamed at the mass of white frills flying towards him. "But I want to be with you, forever, even in death just with you my love!" "Serena.. Darien!" Kari called to them from the half-destroyed balcony. 'I can help them I can still change the future! Let's see....Windy!' Kari pulled out a Clow card. "Windy!" While she had been in thought Beryl had turned away from her and was already approching the Prince and Princess.
The windy spirit couldn't reach them before she impaled the sword in Serena's back and straight through to Dariens. She watched in horror, terrified as her haunting nightmare came true. The couple fell to the ground, almost creating the perfect picture of a loving couple wrapped in each others arms in perfect bliss. "No....Serena Darien No!" Kari fell to the ground crying in disbelief. 'I can't lose them too' she thought as she rocked back and forth to comfort herself. She heard the evil laugh and Beryl say "Ha ha the stupid bitch and her prince are gone. The heir to the moons throne is no more!"
She stared at them in the pool of blood and was reminded of Clow and how he died. 'People, people are always taking the ones I love away from me.' She thought to herself as she receded to the darkest abyss of her mind that she had not visited since she was a child. 'I hate them. I hate people!' Her mind screamed to her; bringing back the horrible memories that she had tried to bury, tried to forget. 'No I don't want to remember! Stop! Stop it I don't wanna-' Kari's inner struggle drug emotions forward that she had not felt for a while, emotions that sent her heart into a rage. "No, no, no, no." She refused to accept it, she refused to believe the two people that meant more than life itself to her were gone. "No, no, no." She shook her head and rocked back and forth like an insane person on the edge of sanity. She was oblivious to the danger she was in. "No." Creatures came at her from all directions, but all she could do was lift her head to the bitterness of reality. To the beautiful moon child that was her friend, her life, now laying in the dirt soaked in deep red blood. Her eyes instantly became empty as if there was no soul just a empty husk and her mind screamed one last time "NO....!" The creatures surrounding her and anything else in the vicinity was destroyed by an intense energy output created from the tormented mind of a lost soul.
Yue ran down the hall's of the palace shouting "Kari... Kari....!" He came to an outside walkway and stopped when he saw Kari on her knees crying like a helpless child. It killed him to see the most powerful sorceress in the known world, his lovely wife, reduced to the mental state of a traumatized, over-emotional, child.
"Kari. Oh thank goodness you're ok!"
"Yue?" She raised her head as if in a daze and he wrapped his arm's around her.
"Y-Yue she she k-ki-killed them Yue she killed them!"
"Shh calm down honey. Who killed who sweet heart?" He asked her gently rubbing her back in a soothing motion.
"Serena and Darien she killed them!" Kari said through her tears. "We have to find Queen Serenity! Can you stand ok?"
"Yes I'm alright." Yue and Kari ran outside into the battle to find the horrible scene of the fallen Sailor soldiers.
"Uranus, Neptune, Pluto!" They ran over to the remaining three.
"Kari what are you doing out here?" Neptune asked.
"It's too dangerous, you should be with Queen Serenity so she can protect you!" Uranus stated more firmly than she meant.
"We can't hold them off much longer" Pluto explained.
"We're looking for Queen Serenity. Where is she?"
Noone awnsered Yues question because a group of Dark Kingdom soldiers came running torwards them.
"So the little slutt moon princess is still alive?!" One of them called out. "Not for long!" another one said. "Leave a piece of her for me" another one said right next to him.They seemed to be charging down Kari.
Sailor Uranus stood up with the full intent to kill these bastards who would dare insult her princess and try to hurt her precious Kari. She made a move forwards and Kari held her hand out.
"Stop you're too weak to fight Amara. I can handle them!" She held out her key around her neck 'this is for my mother my father, Serena, Darien and the scouts'"Key of my father Clow, the key of magic, of light. Surrender your true form to me. 'REALESE'!" The key turned into the staff with her chanting.
"Firey realese and disspell!" She tapped the Clow card with the staff. A fire looking sprite appeared and wound a circle around the group of men, stopping them for a bried moment.
"You think fire will stop me!" One called out as he jumped at Kari and tried to stab her with the sword in his hand.
All of a sudden an arrow pierced him in the heart and he fell to the ground and dispersed into dust. "Nephlite!" Someone within the fire shouted.
Kari turned around "Yue you saved me." "Of course my love, now finish them off!" "Right!" she awnsered his serious expression.
She pulled out another card "Earth card crush them under your might!" When she tapped this card the earth trembled under their feet, and raced towards the fire circle. It came up and crushed the rest of the group.
Not caring weather they were dead or not Kari turned around and said "let's go now, there's no reason to stay here".
Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto stood up with Yues help. From behind them a warrior emerged from the ground "you little retch you're going to pay for this!" He ran at the group when a pink light flashed and he dissolved with the other warriors Queen Beryl, and the Black mass in the sky.
"It must be Serenity!" Pluto spoke up worridly.
They found Queen Serenity laying down on her back with Kero, Luna and Artimise by her side.
"Your majesty!"
"I'm so glad you all are ok, but you must leave to your respective planets. I have enough power to send you back. Serena and the others will be on earth in a new time if you need them."
"What about you?" Kari asked
"My time as Queen is over." Serenity smiled in her soft motherly way that could melt anyones heart.
"No you can't die too Queen Serenity!" Kari cried for what seemed like the millionth time that night. Her tears flowed freely down her soft round cheeks. She couldn't deny it Queen Serenity was going to die and it was crystal clear to her.
"Queen isn't there something we can do to help?" Keros reaction was similar to his mistresses. "We can't leave you here like this your majesty!" Neptune spoke. "You have to go for the good of our solar system. Now farewell". A light flashed and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were gone.
"Kari, dear". Queen Serenity, slowly dying, spoke quietly but loud enough for Kari to hear.
"Yes my Queen?" Kari sniffled trying very hard to fight her urge to give all her remaining energy to Serenity. "I'm sorry I won't be able to meet your daughter. I love you so much. You're just as much a daughter to me as Serena Kari and I love you just as much. I'm going to miss you my little one."
"I love you too Queen Serenity." Kari's tears trailled down her face. She laid her head on Serenitys chest and brought her right hand, in a fist, to rest on her breast.
"Dear you are very special and talented. Don't worry you'll see Serena and the others again."
The silver crystal lifted into the air and flashed. All of the people including the sailor scouts lifted into the air. Surrounded by the crystal's light they drifted off towards earth.
"Goodbye. All of you are in my heart. I'll always be watching over you." Queen Serenity closed her eyes and the cresent moon wand fell from her limp hand. It also flahsed; Luna and Artimise where incased and drifted off towards earth as well.Kari lifted her head after feeling her heart completely stop. She looked at her godgrandmother "say hello to mama and papa for me. Rest in peace grandma." She kissed her cheek, got up, and walked over to Yue and Kero.
"C'mon guys let's go."
"Kari are you going to be ok?!" Yue asked sadly.
"Is the baby alright Kari?" Kero asked just to make sure.
"Yes we're both fine. She's given me the strength and hope I'll need to hang on." She wiped her face with her sleeve and smiled at her worried husband.
She took Yue's hand into hers and held Kero's paw in her other hand. Her body started glowing white and the light surrounded Kero and Yue as well. It lifted them off of the ground. In a sudden flash of powerful energy they were gone. They were going home wherever home was.
'Someday we'll meet again and I will have my angel with me. I promise we'll meet again. Serena, Darien, everyone. I love you forever'.
