Author's note: If you're wondering why I'm here writing this instead of doing my other fic (ancient powers long forgotten), well, the idea just popped out so I decided to write it down. In this fic, Sakura's best friend is NOT Tomoyo. And if you don't like the idea of Sakura being rough and not the same gentle, cheerful little girl, then don't read this. Anyway, R and R!

Chapter 1: The Finding of the Book

Sakura watched as the cherry blossoms fell out of the tree. Cherry Blossoms, that's what her name meant. She frowned. It doesn't suit her at all. She is far from being a frail little flower.

"Why don't you change it then."

"How many times must I tell you not to read my mind without my permission?"

"You do that too."

"Oh well…"

"Why did your mother call you that anyway?"

"Arisa, stop asking about things you know."

Sakura turned to look at her best friend.

Arisa is the strangest person you can ever imagine. She seemed to be drained of all colour. Her skin is pale and has long silvery white hair. She usually wears sunglasses but behind, her eyes are gold and looked like that like a cat or an owl.

"The summer vacations are so boring." Arisa commented.

"Yeah. There's never anything interesting to do." Sakura sighed.

"Wanna go and visit Lina's dimension?"

"No. I can't stand that jerk who stays with her."

"Oh, you mean that guy called Gourry."

"Whatever."

"Let's go to your house."

"Are you sure you can stand my brother?"

"I'll fry him if I can't."

"No. You always do that. Try something new."

"What about I freeze him?" Arisa said as she grinned evilly.

"That's interesting. Try it."

"I pity him fro knowing about our magic. It makes him our only target in this dimension."

"Still remember the shock on his face when he found I went exploring with you guys for 10 years and I came back the same time as I left. Same age too."

"It's very convenient to be able to control time."

"Of course."

~*~*~*5 minutes later~*~*~*

"Tadaima!"

"Oh, so the kaijuu and her weird friend are back."

Now that really got them mad so…

"Flare Arrow!"

"Mega Brand!"

And they walked away leaving a toasted Touya on the floor.

"Guess we fried him after all…"

"We can freeze him next time."

"Arisa, what do you want to do now?"

"Anything interesting here?"

"We can try ransacking the basement..."

"Good idea."

The duo looked around the basement, trying to find something of interest. Last time, they had found an ancient book left behind by a wizard whom they knew.

*********Flashback*********

"Hey, Sakura, come over here."

"What's the matter?"

"A diary."

"What's so special about that?"

"Oho, look at whose diary it is."

"What the heck!? Rezo!? The one in Lina's dimension?"

"Yup! The diary of the one and only Rezo the red priest."

"Can't say one and only, though. He had a clone."

"Oh yah…"

"But what is it doing here?"

"It isn't the first time dimension went berserk."

"So it just grew wings and flew here?"

"Probably."

******End of Flashback******

"Well, there doesn't seem to be any more things here."

"Hey, Arisa, where's that light coming from?"

"Dunno. Lets go see."

They went over to the dark corner of the room where the glowing came from. There it is , the light source. It was a book,

"Weird book. Clow… seem familiar."

"Isn't that the sorcerer who create those card thingies?"

"Think so. Let's see."

Sakura opened the book and took out the top card.

"Windy…"

The moment after she muttered the word, a huge wind blew up and blew the cards out of the book.

"What in the world!?" Arisa cursed as she put up a shield to block the rest of the cards from flying away. The wind eventually stopped and the book dropped onto the floor. The girls watched curiously as the book glowed and something came out.

"Konyanichiwa!"

"A stuffed animal?"

"Hey girl, who are you calling stuffed…" he didn't finished before Sakura interrupted again.

"I've seen talking chickens but this? It seems quite useless for a guardian beast."

"Don't compare me to a talking chicken and how did you know about me!?"

"I can tell you if you have the patience to sit and listen for 5 hours."

"Well, forget about it. Back to the main topic. I'M NOT A STUFFED ANIMAL!!!"

"You look like one." Arisa cut in.

"I do not! Snow women!"

"Snow woman!?! @#$%^&*"

"Arisa, calm down. Stuffed animal, come with me and explain."

"I am not..." but the look in Arisa's eyes (she took off her glasses) made him stop.

~*~*~*~*1/2 hour later~*~*~*~*

"So you say you have magic?"

"Isn't that obvious?"

"Sort of. There are no other logical explanations to how your brother got fried."

"People mocked me for being colourless, for having white hair and wearing dark glasses but no one, NO one ever called me snow woman before…" Arisa mumbled.

"Get over it, Arisa. And Kero, stop stuffing yourself with pudding or I'll put a curse on you so that you can't eat ever again."

"Ahhh! No! Forgive me, Sakura!"

"Greedy pig…"

"Anyway, you were saying that I have to capture the cards, is that so?"

"Yup."

"Why not Arisa?"

"She cursed at me."

"You're a biased freak…not that I care."

"See! She's at it again!"

"Look here, I can do that too, just that I'm trying to be polite. And I don't have time to play around with you and capture those cards."

"But disaster will befall the world..."

"I don't care. Find someone else."

"Please? I promise to be good."

"You make a better pet than a guardian beast…"
"WHAT… never mind… Just help me!"

"Arghh! Alright, but you have to obey some rules."

"Sure!"
"I'll write them down so you won't forget. Here."

Rules to obey No raiding of the fridge. No calling of names (for me and Arisa) No pestering me Cause as much trouble as possible for onii-chan

"Sakura, you call the 4th one a rule!?"

"Can't I?"

"I'm not trying to object…"

A huge wind suddenly blew in from the window.

"Guess I was too busy writing to sense anything…"

"That's a card!"

"Shut up. We know that."

"Let's go!"

"What ever…"

" I'll wait for you outside… what the heck!?"

Kero had flown out the window and was surprised to see Sakura and Arisa standing in mid-air in front of him.

"What's the matter? We can fly too."

"But…"

"We can also teleport."

"Gulp…I see."

"So it's the fly card." Sakura murmured when a huge bird flew overhead.

"It's just a piece of junk."

"You're right."

"I have the feeling I'm being left out here…"Kero grumbled as he flew after the two girls. "You have to get nearer than you can..."

"Yeah, whatever. Fireball…"

Poor Kero can only gape as the bird was instantly fried. Being unable to cope, fly returned into its card form itself.

"G…guys that was g…great…"

"Thanks."

Author's note: I didn't expect it to be that long… I got those spells from The Slayers. (Lina and Gourry are from Slayers too.) I know there are a lot of conversations in this chapter and I'll try to have less in future. And I did NOT, I repeat did NOT, get the idea of Arisa's looks from Yue. (Arisa's supposed to be paler anyway) There will be more about Sakura and Arisa's personalities and also explanations for their magic. Please review to let me know if I should continue!
