Chapter 2:
The guy in the leather jacket made his way to his seat, next to the 'nice' and nervous lady. On his way to his seat, he smacked someone in the head. Tomoyo flinched and tried to look away. The 'hoodlum' dumped his bag in one of those cases above their heads and collapsed on to his seat, in a not-so-gentlemanly way.
Tomoyo sunk deeper into her chair as she gripped onto it tightly as if her life depended on it.
The guy next to her eyed her warily and he took out a cigarette box.
-----
Tomoyo turned her head away from the stranger, trying not to look at him attentively. Sitting next to a hoodlum was NOT what she wanted... especially since she feared planes already.
The plane's motors began to work, making loud noises. The plane strode down the road slowly...
"Oh my god. Oh my god..." Tomoyo gripped the seat tightly as she felt her heart was pounding heavily against her chest. Her stomach dropped instantly as she shrunk into her seat. She panicked immediately and began to chant awkward sentences like last time "I'm going to be fine... I'm just on this plane to Japan... I'm going to Alex... that's good. Very good. Very good. But I'm on a plane... very bad. Very bad... I want Alex after this... that's good..." Tomoyo pinched her eyes closed and chanted those awkward sentences again.
The anonymous guy next to her glanced warily at her again. She was making a fool out of herself, he thought and began to hit the cigarette box in his palm a few times. He sighed and wondered why the hell he'd to suffer the trip next to a woman who hated planes. "Stop your chattering. Just take a deep breath"
Tomoyo frowned and stopped her chanting. She shot a glare at the guy next to her. "Excuse me? Who do you think you are ordering me around?" The guy didn't acknowledge her glare and picked out a cigarette.
"The name is Hiiragizawa Eriol. You're disturbing my peace with your chanting" The guy stuck the cigarette in his mouth as Tomoyo stiffened her hold on her chair, never realizing the plane was moving faster.
"So? As if this noise isn't disturbing your peace!"
"It's supposed to be like that. I didn't pay for my ticket to sit next to a chanting Buddhist" Eriol sighed as he looked at the other passengers, feeling bored already.
"How dare you!?" Tomoyo gasped and turned to look at him fully. "How dare you!? I'm not the one butting into people's problems!"
"Puh-lease... if you really think it's a problem. It's not. You're obsessing" Eriol pointed out and lit his cigarette.
"I am not. I just happened to be engaged to someone I love wholeheartedly. Like you care, huh?"
"You mean that Alex-guy whom you've been chanting about?" Eriol snorted and blew out some smoke. "Engaged, huh? Face it, he's cheating on you"
Tomoyo's face reddened in rage. How dare he? Accusing Alex! No less. "I trust Alex, because he told me he loves me too" She held her chin high.
"Aa... well, love, huh? What's so special about your love for him compared to his love for you?" Eriol looked at her warily and stuck the cigarette back between his lips.
"It IS special. Not that you understand if I'm right" Tomoyo pointed out and cheered inside.
"Yes, you're right. Love is shit... Love always comes with negative feelings" Eriol blew out some smoke again.
"How can you say that?" Tomoyo gasped out as she thought about the time when she first felt love. It was warm, scary... but beautiful at the same time. "It's actually beautiful... you'll get that fuzzy feeling in your stomach and everything just seems so perfect. The warmth and all... Heck! Why am I talking to you about love? You should actually experience it first before judging"
Eriol snorted and looked at her, bored again. "I don't know where you get that idea of love being like that. I think if you believe in love you might get it. And it's always not what it seems. So, there you have it... I don't believe in love. Especially not the love you're expressing for that Alex-guy"
"He's WAY more different from you... no wonder you can't find love" Tomoyo huffed out and crossed her arms.
"Great that you see my point. Now just look outside the window" Eriol pointed with his cigarette and glanced forward.
Tomoyo looked confused at him and slowly turned around. She gasped. Smokey clouds drifted under her as for the lands... they were so green? She couldn't even make out the people from the airport. Everything was so small and cute. A smile spread across her face and she sighed in relief. "Hey, look... it's beautiful down..." She tucked on to Eriol's arm as she pointed outside.
Immediately she pulled her hand away as she turned around to look at him. He eyed her without any interest. "...sorry..." Tomoyo mumbled out and sighed at the scenery. It's really beautiful and... WAIT A MINUTE! She didn't even notice the plane had taken off... well, of course she had felt something. But she'd ignored it because she was too busy 'arguing' with Eriol. He had helped her... her eyes widened a bit. She didn't even notice.
"Ano... Hiiragizawa... about our argument back there... you talked me into that, didn't you?... thanks for making my fear go away just for a few seconds..." Tomoyo stammered as she faced her companion bravely.
"Hn. You were really acting hysterical..." Eriol said in a bored tone as he blew out some more smoke.
"Hey! This was my first time, buddy!" Tomoyo retorted as she glared at him.
"Do you want some drinks, sir... miss?" one of the stewardesses passed by with a tray.
"Oh, thank you. Orange is fine" Tomoyo smiled and grabbed for a glass. Eriol had to shrink himself in to his seat so that his companion could have better access. Like always, luck wasn't always on her side. She accidentally dropped the whole content on Eriol's shirt, which peaked out of his leather jacket.
Eriol grimaced and quickly tried to dry his shirt with his free hand, which wasn't that intelligent of him.
"Gods, I'm sorry" Tomoyo quickly apologized and picked out some tissues to wipe some of the wetness from his clothes.
The stewardess peered at them worriedly and couldn't help out since her hands were full.
"Huh? A plant?" Tomoyo blinked when she saw Eriol pulling his shirt out of his jeans.
"I've to go now!" Eriol growled and pushed himself from his seat.
He quickly headed for the lavatory as Tomoyo leaned over the chair to watch him go. "He's got a plant tuck under his shirt. What's he doing with a plant under his shirt? Isn't it going to die or crushed?"
The stewardess shrugged and went to the other passengers to pass them drinks.
*.*.*.*.*
Eriol stepped into the lavatory and pulled his shirt up. He took out a small plant, which roots were wrapped around a small white cloth.
//Gods, why did that klutz have to that// He wondered in anger as he unwrapped the cloth quickly. He unfolded the rest of the wrap and stopped to look at the red silk. He hoped nothing bad was there. He slowly unwrapped the red silk and carefully revealed a beautiful with diamond-decorated necklace. The diamonds glittered blindly at him as he stroked the jewelry possessively. He kissed it later on.
*.*.*.*.*
It was nighttime. Almost everyone on the plane was sleeping. Tomoyo was taking her time to read a very thick romance book. She didn't want to sleep. She wanted to finish reading the book, because it was so... exotic. Eriol on the other hand kept looking around the other passengers while he smoked.
Tomoyo sighed when she couldn't concentrate on her story. She glared at Eriol.
"Will you stop smoking just for one second?"
Eriol turned to look at her. "No"
Tomoyo sighed exasperatedly and closed her book. "You know smoking is bad for your health. You're making me sick with that smoke"
"Live with it" Eriol smirked and sucked in the smoke from the cigarette. The sensation of getting a bit lightheaded after a big headache.
Tomoyo frowned at Eriol. "You know what, Hiiragizawa. You're just one careless bastard"
Eriol didn't seem to care what she said. He didn't even flinch. He just shrugged. "That's why love is never near me"
"I really, really pity you, Hiiragizawa. But I don't... because I don't like your attitude..." She almost wanted to poke him.
"Do I care what people care?"
Suddenly the plane began to sway in an unbalancing way. Everyone was wide awake as they felt being shaken.
"Everyone please stay calm. There's a storm coming up and the wind is quite stronger than I thought. Just stay calm" The captain's voice announced through an intercom.
The plane was pushed again by the strong wind outside. Everyone held tight on to their chairs, except Eriol. He just smoked there, staring warily around him.
"You might never know if this plane is going to crash somewhere" Eriol said, while blowing out some smoke.
Tomoyo's eyes widened in fear as she gripped her seat again. "Oh, gods..." she gasped out and was breathing with difficulty. She began to chant awkwardly again, pinching her eyes closed. What if this plane were going to crash? Then she won't be able to see Alex again. That pained her. Now she really hates it when that 'hoodlum' seem to be much more intelligent than she thought he was.
"Drink some rum" Eriol suggested and grabbed for a small bottle that was placed on his tray. Tomoyo opened her eyes to glare at him. "I don't drink"
"There's always a first time. Drink it... you'll calm down" (1) Eriol passed her a small bottle of alcohol.
"Didn't you hear what I just said? I don't drink. So back off!" Tomoyo glared as she felt being shaken from side to side again. The wind was really strong to push against the plane that night. She shrunk in her seat and chanted again.
"Suit yourself" Eriol shrugged and put the bottle back. He began to smoke on his next cigarette and watched the other passengers panic. They all were clinging on to their chairs or on to each other. Some even shriek out hysterically. He sighed, //Some people need to stay calm in order to believe in the positive and optimistic side of the world//
He looked at the tray in front of him. He stared in confusion. Wasn't there two bottles on his tray? There's only one... where's the other? He quickly glanced over his shoulder to look at anonymous companion of his. She had taken a bottle from his tray without him noticing. Tomoyo was gulping down the whole content non-stop and finally emptied the small bottle. She sighed dreamily afterwards and looked happy all the sudden.
The liquid ran through her body like a comforting embrace. Her mind got unfocused as she felt a happy glint in her stomach. She was feeling happy. She was calm and happy to be exact. Her eyes were a little unfocused and she beamed at her companion, Eriol. He just stared at her in wonder. She's drunk. How could any modest lady drink something like this in one gulp without stopping?
The plane shook even harder. The passengers panicked, they began to pray for god to protect them. "This is the feeling!" A very drunk Tomoyo announced through all the screams and panic as she jumped from her seat. Eriol looked up in surprise. Great. Now that she's drunk, she's going to be a wild animal afterwards. He pulled her down to sit. "Sit down. Don't make a scene" Eriol ordered her. She beamed at him dreamily. //I guess the alcohol did work//
Everyone on the plane were crying or panicking about not want to die so early. Eriol sighed and shook his head. Hysterical. Great. Now he felt so abnormal between all the hysterical people. They were only acting on impulse and he... he wasn't even worried. He stood up from his seat and walked to the backside of the plane. "Calm down people" He shouted as he passed every row. Everyone seemed to have thrown out of their seats all the sudden. Everyone wasn't even putting their seatbelts on.
Tomoyo peered through the gaps of the chairs, to look at some more small bottles of alcohol. She instantly smiled goofily and stood up. She went for the car trays and picked a few. The plane was shaking violently and she was forced to tumble backwards. Her drunken mind wasn't even working perfectly as she didn't seem to care if she fell flat on the ground again. Someone had luckily caught her, before she could fall. "What are you doing?" Eriol asked as he looked down the drunk.
She beamed at him dreamily and passed him a bottle. "Nothing much..." her voice swayed as she felt herself being thrown to the sides. She began to divide the small bottles of rum. "Drink it! And you'll be happy!" she grinned and passed out more bottles. Some people took it some didn't. It was chaos all the sudden.
The plane shook violently again and she suddenly fell onto a passenger. Both of them fell on the carpeted floor. There was a loud... CRACK! sound coming from the unfortunate soul.
"Gods... you're really drunk" Eriol pulled Tomoyo from the unfortunate passenger. "You've almost killed that guy. What did you break? His back?"
Tomoyo winced when he scolded and shrunk into the seat. "She did nothing wrong, young man. I'm cured!" The passenger cheered and pulled away the wrapping from his neck. "I was supposed to go for an operation, but she actually cured me. My neck is fine again" The passenger pointed out and kneeled in front of Tomoyo. Eriol stared in surprise at the two...it's almost as if the man was proposing to the drunk. Tomoyo didn't seem to focus much that time as she looked warily at the man in front of her.
"Oh, goddess... I'm so grateful you've cured me. You're an angel..." the man began to blabber.
Without anyone watching since everyone was too busy to panic or scream... Eriol slid his hand in the kneeling man's pocket. He quickly ripped the man's wallet out of his pocket. The man rose, making Eriol jump back in surprise, hoping that he hadn't been discovered.
"You've a fine young lass, young man. You've an angel by your side. She really had cured me" The man grinned. "But I don't even know her" Eriol blurted out.
"Let's go home" Tomoyo mumbled and attached herself on to Eriol's shoulder. She was feeling dizzy all the sudden. She wanted to sleep and make the pain go away. Her head was throbbing and she didn't care if Eriol was going to help her or not.
"Look lady, you need to sit" Eriol said and hauled her to their seats in a much gentle way. He let her go safely on the chair.
"I told you people to NOT panic. Land is at sight. We've survived the storm" the captain announced cheerfully. Everyone on the plane cheered and danced. So what about their seats?

Author's Notes:
1: Don't take this advice seriously. Don't do alcohol and don't smoke. I'm not responsible for your preferences of how to stay calm.
O.o Don't you think this is a weird chapter? I mean... in the movie in the chaos scene everyone danced and sang... well, the lead actor and the lead actress were actually singing. I couldn't find anything amusing to let Tomoyo sing and dance. It would be quite awkward if she sung without any background music. So... uhm... that's all I have to say.
Lady Penguin: ^-^ Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like it. Yes, chapter 1 is actually the 'first' scene and is a little weird too. I happened to think Tomoyo fit the leading actress' role. I have to give credit to them ^-^ The movie was sweet afterall. And yeah... you'll later find out that Alex IS a jerk. And oh... I didn't pick anything from the dialogue... I can't remember all the lines since they were all talking in Hindi XD
