CardCaptors 2002: The Replacement Cardcaptor: Part 4

CardCaptors 2002 is now an official group which is under the SMI(Supernatural and Magical
Investigation) unit of the International Police Force(IPF), that self-explains its job to
investigate and keep order in that area for the IPF. But in secret, its job is to hunt the
remaining Clow Cards that are causing a bit of trouble around the world.

A purple-haired girl in green school uniform was on the roof of a Odaiba High, very late at
night. She was hiding behind a wall as another girl in green school uniform was walking around
carrying a gold sword with a possessed look on her face.

*

Some Digimons and people were running around the High School compounds as they barracaded the
area.

The Agumon in charged looked around at an area full of sword slashes on the wall, saying,
"Now this is a big problem. No such being has a capability to do this."

Suddenly someone was suddenly thrown off the school building and landed on the ground as the
Digimon looked at the completely in need of help Veemon on the ground. The Agumon took out
his walkie-talkie, saying, "Chief, we have a problem. It looks like Veemon was thrown off
the building in an attempt to calm the swordfighter"

On the walkie-talkie, the chief replied, "Are you sure? I have sattalite images showing
that Veemon has flew a height over Odaiba High School beforel anding onto the ground. But
no matter, I'm sending in the SMI unit."

Then, a motorbike drove up to the school and it stopped right in front of a traffic officer
wearing goggles. As the officer placed his goggles on his head, the rider got off the bike
and took out a communicator with a message.

The message reads, "I have told them to clear out. Get the job done ASAP."

The rider took off her helmet and walks pass the traffic officer. Then, the officer noticed
that a small yellow creature was flying over the school compound. The mysterious girl
took out a staff and hit the ground, creating a seal on the ground right in front of the
entrance of the school.

The girl yelled out, "Everyone cross the seal."

The officers, ranging from Digimon to humans started crossing the seal.

The girl continued forward, but not noticing the giant clock above the school started to
fly towards her. At that moment, the girl looks up and a yellow blur appeared and destroyed
the clock. At the clock tower, a girl holding a sword was seen walking away.

"Incredible! How can a girl do that?" One Gabumon said to another Gabumon about the
mysterious girl near them.

As the two Gabumons were watching what happened to the girl, a yellow creature appeared out
of nowhere and stared at the Gabumons with a glarifying look.

One of the Gabumons said, "Its a ghost. Run brother!"

The two Gabumons run across the seal, leaving only the Girl and the yellow creature behind.

As the girl walked up the stairs in the school building, when suddenly the lights in the
hallway blinked and the yellow creature appeared out of nowhere.

The girl suddenly said, "You know, Kero, you shouldn't have scared those Digimons away. You
know that we are only here in Odaiba to deal with cases involving Supernatural and Magical,
aka. Clow Cards."

"Sorry, I had to do something to replace that Syaoran kid and that Li kid, Sakura. Its
their day off," Kero replied.

Sakura faced Kero. "Then, could you please give me that control that controls the lights in
the school, you're going to give me seizures one of these days with you fidgeting with the
switches."

Kero gave Sakura the control as they continued up the stairs. Then, both started to sense
something.

Kero: Sakura, sensed that? It must be Power.

Sakura: Its Sword.

Kero: More like Power, from what I saw on that Leomon. He was sentflying.

Sakura: Sword is a card which has the strength to cut anything other than another sword. So
basically, it could also send people flying. And I can smell that 20 miles away from here.

Sakura and Kero reached the roof, only to see a scared purple-haired girl sitting on the
floor, with her knees close to her.

Sakura put on her Power Glove and said, "Kero, look for the card while I go and comfort the
girl and get her out of here. And be careful."

Sakura walked to the purple-haired girl. "Are you alright?" Sakura asks.

The purple-haired girl looked at Sakura.

"What is your name?" Sakura asked.

The purple-haired girl replied, "Miyako."

Sakura continued. "Ok, Miyako. I'm going to give you my card in case something like this
ever happens to you again, ok?"

Sakura gave Miyako a name card with the words CardCaptors 2002 as Sakura continued, "Our
department will take care of cases like what you seen. So, what did you see?"

Miyako replied, "A girl carrying a sword. A friend of mine. Her name's Hikari. I never knew
that she's good with the sword. I never even see here pratice with any weapon!"

"Don't worry, I'll solve the problem. I believe that the sword your friend got is
posessed. Is the sword made of Chinese design?"

Miyako nodded.

"Ok, leave the school compound, I'll take care of this."

Miyako ran off as Sakura walked around. "Kero, the Sword is posessing a girl. Look out."

Kero was flying over the roof, scanning the area. "Nope, I can't sense the card. Its hiding
its power."

Sakura was holding a crystal ball marked "Sword". "Well, its nearby. Get ready."

Suddenly, a brown-haired girl jumped out carrying a gold sword.

"Kero, I've found Hikari, the girl now holding the Sword!"

Sakura block the Sword's attack with her Power Glove.

Kero was floating in the air.

"Sakura, let me at the Sword first!" Kero yelled.

Then Hikari swings the sword and prepares to cut Kero's head off, but Kero used both hands
to try to grab sword but Hikari was too strong and she flung Kero away to a wall next to
Sakura, who was watching watching.

"Sakura, I can't get the sword. You'll have to do it!" Kero yelled.

Sakura stood up and stared at Kero. "This will only take a minute."

Sakura calmly walks to Hikari and grabbed the sword and snatch it away, causing possessed
girl to faint. Sakura took out the Crystal ball and captured The Sword.

"Crisis over." Sakura said.

Kero floated towards Sakura. "I don't think so. Look up there."

Sakura and Kero looked up on the clock tower to see a man wearing goggles watching Sakura
and Kero.

"Sakura? Do you think you know him?"

The man walked out of Sakura and Kero's sight.

Sakura faces Kero. "Yeah, he does look kinda familiar. If I can recall, he was that traffic
officer."

*Sakura walks pass the traffic officer as she looks at his face.*

"So, what was that kid doing here?" Kero asked.

"I have no idea." Sakura said.

*

The next day.

Sakura was sitting next to Tomoyo inside her clothing store.

"Someone saw you in battle? That's not good," Tomoyo said.

"I mostly blame it on Kero for telling me to look up." Sakura takes a cup of tea.

Tomoyo picks up a set of keys. "By the way, Li sent me a message that he's got a present for
you. Out back."

Tomoyo and Sakura entered a garage to see a black car with the number plate with small
letters spelling out, "CardCaptors 2002".

"Do I have that feeling that Li is going a bit overboard. I mean, I don't even know how to
drive." Sakura was about to kick the car when she slipped.

Tomoyo looked at Sakura. "Li knew that that was going to happen, so he placed a magic seal
around the car."

"Now you tell me. Ow." Sakura rubbed the back of her head.

*

At a building, which is one of the branches of the International Police Force in Japan. 11
officers were sitting in a meeting room with glass walls that has a good view of the city.

With Sakura sitting on one of the seats next to the chief incharge of the Digimon Territory
and the head of the IPF Japan branch, Chief Ishida.

"Ok, currently, this station each has unit from 9 diffrent parts of Tokyo. Now, a new
SMI (Supernatural and Magical Investigation) unit joins us. CardCaptors 2002," the chief
announced.

Sakura was calm as she waits on what the Chief is talking about.

The Chief looks at his list. "Ok, currently, excluding me and Sakura, there's only 8
signatures in the list in order for the unit to recieve funding. What seems to be the
problem, Inspector Ranma?"

Ranma was sitting on the other end of the table the chief was sitting at.

"I don't believe in this fortune telling nonsense. In fact, I don't even believe it at
all," Ranma commented.

"Alright, Inspector Ranma, each department has a specialty. The Monster department requires
the use of special monsters to help with Police work. The Mecha and Armor department is used
against Riots and Gang Fights. So we need the SMI to investigate magical and supernatural
incidents. If you want to see to believe. Sakura, use one of your powers."

"Way ahead of you, Chief." Sakura says as she secretly takes out the Move Card's small
crystal ball. "Move Card, move that glass of water onto Ranma and pour it onto him!".

Suddenly, the glass of water in front of Ranma and and the Move card did what it was told,
pouring water on the Inspector, only to change him into a her.

"Any other questions, Inspector? Or would you like to see more?" The chief asked.

Ranma took a pen out as she walks to the Chief. Sakura calmly hands the list to Ranma as she
signs her name on it.

The Chief picked up the list. "So, its official. CardCaptors 2002 is now part of the Tokyo
Police."

Suddenly, the florescent light in the meeting room started to blink.

"Quit tormenting me! I've signed it already," Ranma screamed.

Chief: Sakura, now that Inspector Ranma is convinced, you've made your point.

Sakura walked to a light switch and switched the florescent light off and said, "Try to
fix the lights and they won't blink." Sakura switched the lights back on and left the office.

*

Outside the building, Sakura finds the car full of parking tickets.

A voice: I say. Not a bad piece of work.

Sakura: Huh?

"The Car, I mean."

Sakura: Oh. You again.

A man wearing a traffic police uniform was standing next to Sakura.

"So, nice job. Good pay. A car that has recently touched the roads of Tokyo," the traffic
officer commented.

Sakura: What do you want?

"Don't you remember me? I'm the traffic officer you saw at Odaiba High. But you can
call me Taichi," the traffic officer said.

Sakura: Alright, so, you want to be transferred from the Trafic department to the new squad?

Taichi: Yeah.

*Kero's Voice: I can sense that the next CardCaptor is in the International Police Force. He
will give you a gift that revolves around the number 13.*

Sakura: Alright, let me look at my tickets.

Taichi: Don't worry, I counted them. There are 13 in total over there. If you let me join
you, I can deal with your tickets before I leave the Traffic Department.

*Kero: He will have a mark with shows the number 140.*

Sakura looked on Taichi's Traffic ID. number. The number reads 140.

Taichi: And look at this number, 140, my lucky number.

*Kero: And one more thing...*

Sakura tossed Taichi a piece of cloth.

Taichi: What's this?

Sakura: Just put it on your head if you want to be transferred to my team.

Taichi unfolds the cloth and puts it on his head. Taichi didn't notice that the cloth has a
target mark on it.

From above, Kero was floating watching. "Ah, so that's the new CardCaptor. Lets test him."
Kero took out a waterbomb and dropped it onto Taichi's head, which is marked by the cloth.

Kero: Bulls eye.

A wet Taichi angrilly tossed the cloth to the ground.

"What was that for?!" Taichi yelled.

"You wanted to join us, well, you've proved it, by being a target for our eyes."

Taichi: So, when will I get transferred?

"As soon as you dry yourself, follow me. Here's a towel." Sakura tossed a towel at Taichi.

*

Sakura looks at a file about Taichi and hands it to Li.

Li: This is the new CardCaptor?

Sakura: Well, he is the one that Kero was sensing.

"So, he's requesting for a transfer. Fine. Let him be on our team," Li said as he returned
the file to Sakura.

*

At night, Sakura was on her bed sleeping uneasily as she dreams.

*Dream Sequence*

At the hospital, a few medical staff were in a hurry pushing a wheel-bed with a woman
breathing heavily. With Fujitaka carrying a young Sakura in his arms and Touya followed
behind his father.

"Doctor, how's my wife?" Fujitaka asked.

Doctor: Mr. Kinomoto, I'm afraid that she won't have much time to live.

Suddenly, a transparent image of the older Sakura appeared.

Sakura: What am I doing here?

Sakura walks around and sees her family.

Sakura: I must have ended up with the Return. But why am I in this state?

A woman appeared in front of Sakura.

"Sakura."

Sakura reconises the woman. "Mom? But how?"

Sakura's mother looked at Sakura. "Even though you have grown up very fast, I can still
reconise you."

Sakura: But why?

Sakura's mother: I can see spirits and you are in your spirit form.

Sakura: But why am I here?

Sakura: This question cannot be answered at this time. Please, return to your own time and
ask someone else to come with you. Then, I will tell you the answer.

A distance away, the younger Touya sees his mother and the older Sakura speaking to each
other.

Sakura: Alright, mom. I promise.

Sakura started to disappear.

*End Dream Sequence*

Sakura woke up and she saw a Clow Card on the bedside table near here. Sakura took the card
and read it. "The Return." Suddenly, the phone rings.

"Sakura here," Sakura answered.

*Chief: Sakura, there's an incredible incident in the middle of Downtown Tokyo.*

Sakura: I'm on my way.

*

Sakura and Taichi were running down a hallway.

*

Sakura and Taichi walks along the street.

Sakura: Now, Taichi, this is your first mission. Scared?

Taichi: Nope.

Sakura: Good, lets go.

Sakura and Taichi walked towards a taxi parked in a vertical position on its boot.

"What is this?" Sakura mumbled.

Sakura checked inside the taxi and faced an officer near her.

Sakura: Where's the victim?

"None," the officer replied.

Sakura: Then, why are we here?

"First, look where we are, Downtown Tokyo, but this red taxi is from Hong Kong." The
officer pointed at the Chinese words on the side. "Secondly, the meter is still running. And
the light on top is on? Don't you find it strange? I mean, if the meter is still running,
where's the passenger? If the light is still on, why is the meter running?"

Sakura: Give me a minute.

Sakura and Taichi looked at the taxi and walked to the underside. As soon as they were out
of the officer's sight, both started laughing.

Sakura *whispering*: Meters running.

Taichi *whispering*: Lights on top on. Don't you find it strange?

The duo continued laughing when the officer walks to them.

"Well?"

Sakura stood up and said, "Alright, I'll be honest."

As Taichi was laughing, he didn't notice that that taxi started to tilt.

Sakura: Taichi!

Sakura pulled Taichi out in time just as the taxi crashed landed to its usual horizontal
position.

"So, isn't it strange?" the officer asked.

Sakura: That wasn't strange, it was moronic and senseless! I can't even sense anything
supernatural! Next time, do not call us, this is the case for the traffic department.

Taichi: They know me there. Just look for a guy called Daisuke and he'll deal with it.

"Daisuke? Why should I call him?" The officer asked.

"Should I?!" Taichi yelled. "This was just a pratical joke from what I see!"

*

As Sakura and Taichi were walking, Sakura recieves a phone call.

Sakura: Sakura here.

*Li: Sakura, we've found a Clow Card.*

Sakura: So, I've already had enough problems with this rookie!

*Li: Its all the way in America.*

Sakura: Well, why aren't you there yet?

*

At a crowded airport, Li and Syaoran were in a queue.

Li: We're a bit stranded over here, Sakura, and since you have the Fly card, you are much
faster than us.

*Sakura: You know what, you guys are useless!*

Sakura hangs up on Li.

Li: Great, now we're stuck here. How's the tickets going, Syaoran?

"Not good!"

*

Sakura and Taichi entered Sakura's apartment.

Sakura: Taichi, from this day on, halt all work in CardCaptors 2002.

Sakura packed up the Power Glove into a suitcase.

Taichi: Why?

Sakura pulls the safety lock on her Clow Gun, causing the gun to shrink into the size of a
key-ring. At that moment, she took out her small key (the one which transform into
her Star staff) and lets the key hang in it.

Sakura: I'm going to America and no one can be my replacement to lead CardCaptors 2002 in
Tokyo. So, take a small holiday, Taichi.

Taichi: What?!

"Don't worry, I've left you some paper work to do." Sakura took a large stack of files and
placed in onto Taichi's arms. "By the way, in case of emergency. Here's a short list of
standard issue weapons we have." Sakura took out another Clow Gun. "Clow Gun, safety off. No
bullets required, only your inner strength or what they call Magical Energy."

Taichi: Why magical energy?

Sakura placed the gun down onto a table and took out a glove. "Power Gloves. Gives you super
strength through the use from the Power Card." Taichi took a look at the glove and felt it.

Taichi: Why is it stiff?

Sakura took a small tube out of her pocket. "Wind Chains, a new weapon that is made to make
the certain Cards visible to you by wrapping a mysterious chain of wind around anything or
anybody. It also has the ability cutting any magical power by half. But the effect only last
for 5 minutes."

Taichi: Why 5 and not 6?

Sakura looked back at Taichi. "Why ask stupid questions if I don't know everything? I mean,
why are you a guy? Why is your name Taichi?"

Sakura picked up her luggage.

Taichi: Well, my father is the one who named me Taichi. And why am I a guy, not a girl?
Well, unlike you, I have a Y in my genes, when combined with an X in the genes will make a
boy. And why the stupid questions? Its because I want to know why because I want to work
and don't want to get fired.

Sakura and Taichi left Sakura's apartment.

Sakura: Alright, I'm going to America and you stay in Japan with my friend Kero. And don't
ask why this is the case.

Sakura and Taichi entered the lift.
