Li wasn't sure yet what Wei was up to but he knew something was going on. Ever since he had come back last night and found Wei waiting up for him he had a sneaky suspicion that something was going on.

He glanced from his seat on the couch to see Meiling fidgeting in her seat; she was dressed in a traditional style Chinese dress. Too formal for a Saturday of studying and play, something was definitely going on.

"All right Meiling spill it. What's going on with you two?"

Meiling glanced up not looking Li in the eye instead finding other things more interesting.

"Nothing's going on Li. You really are too suspicious relax. Besides I told you last nigh that I was going out with Sakura and Tomoya this afternoon."

Li eyed her for a moment before he opened his mouth about to speak when the doorbell interrupted him.

He got up and went to the door opening it up.

" Mother?"

Yelan stood in the open doorway looking at her son who looked very confused and very nervous.

"Mother, what are-"

"Li!"

"Little brother!"

Four giggling and squealing girls rushed forth and hugged and kissed Li, who for his part was trying to break free from their hold. He detached himself after a couple attempts and moved aside to let his mother in.

"Wei called me."

He had called her here but the question was why. He didn't think it was because of his late night romp last night. He wasn't lacking in school or his training so he was unsure as to why she had come and why Wei felt the need to call her.

Yelan walked in passing her distraught son, she really did love him he looked so cute when he was confused. She loved to cause him distress just to see him thrown off balance. She sat down waiting for her son to come to her.

Meiling jumped up and grabbed her bag saying a quick good-bye to Yelan before leaving with his sister's close behind. Now that everyone had left it was actually a little too quiet for Li. He walked towards his mother sitting down across from her waiting for her to speak.

" Li do you know why Wei called me?"

She saw him shake his head no confusion swimming around in his amber eyes. She walked over to the chair in the living room and sat down waiting for leave to follow her.

A few moments later Li walked in and sat down to listen to what his mother had to say.

--

Li had left just as his sisters and Meiling had come back. They had left him alone seeing the expression on his face. He had walked all around town digesting what his mother had just told him and still it was very hard to imagine.

He found himself in Penguin park taking the opportunity of being alone he sat down and began to think about all that has happened to him.

He was like that when Rei found him; she was carrying a bag of groceries with her and stopped when she spotted Li.

Rei noticed the young boy Li as she cut through the park he looked a little lost. His face set in a frown his eyes showing his inner emotions and turmoil.

She walked towards him and leaned down to face him.

"Hi."

Li glanced up to be greeted by a pair of warm lavender eyes.

"…"

"What are you doing out her so late?"

`Late?'

Li lifted his head up and glanced around indeed it was late the sun was already setting and it was getting colder he should have brought a coat or something.

" You should hurry up and get home its getting cold out."

Li stood up and was about to leave but turned back around to Rei. She was still standing there waiting for him to go home but instead he walked back towards her.

Rei was a little surprised that he had come back towards her. She shifted her bags as she waited for him to speak.

Li studied her for a moment he had been thinking about what his mother had told him and for some reason he still was unable to make the decision. When he saw Rei something told him to talk to her about it so that's what he was going to do although leave a few details out.

Rei waited for him to talk but when she noticed he wasn't going to say anything she did.

"It looks like you don't want to go home just yet so how about you help me with my groceries?"

Li nodded his head and grabbed one of her bags and followed her down the street. The sun was setting turning the sky reds, yellows and oranges. They were halfway down the park when Li spoke.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Um..Sure."

"If you had to choose between what was expected of you and what you wanted what would you choose?"

"Hmm…what an interesting question."

Rei glanced out of the corner of her eye to see Li looking up at the stars a serious expression on his face.

"Let's see. You're asking for me to choose between destiny and free will, right? Then I guess I would have to say neither."

"What do you mean?"

" Well destiny is something that is supposed to be predetermined for you by the stars right? Well isn't freewill the same thing? So no matter what someone is always determining how your life is. So I choose neither one."

"What if you did not have the luxury of that option?"

"Then I would say to choose the one that makes you who you are, the one that makes you happy. Well thanks for helping me carry my bags."

Li snapped out of his trance to notice that they were in front of a small house. He handed Rei he bag back.

"Thank you."

"For what, answering a question? Anyway hurry home before it gets too cold out."

Rei watched Li's form fading into the night, she turned around and shut the door a frown upon her face.

--

Li was heading back towards the park when he sensed a disturbance coming from a small temple shrine. He shook it off as nothing and headed home, he needed to talk to Meiling.

--

Sakura raced down the stairs shouting good-bye to her father, racing to catch up to her brother.

"Touya! Matte!"

"Hurry up Kaijuu, before you make us both late."

"I am not a monster!"

"Good morning Sakura."

"Hi Yukito."

"Oy squirt, I'm going to be at my part time job today so I won't be home after school."

"Ok."

"Hey ahiru, wait up!"

They turned around to see Nakuru running up to them. Touya groaned before making up some excuse and running off ahead of them. When Nakuru reached Sakura and Yukito she laughed.

" Poor Touya if he only knew how much I love to torture him."

"What are you doing here Nakuru?"

"It's obvious isn't it?"

The two just looked at her then each other before returning their gazes back to her and shaking their heads no.

" I came here to tell you what Eriol has found out about our shadowy little friends, but if you rather not then I guess I'll go to class."

" No, please tell us." Said Sakura

"Well…Ok. It seems the one that attacked Li is called Gohi. Also a large amount of dark magick is coming from the Lotus shrine down town near the park. Eriol thinks that-"

" Then we should go check out the shrine."

" I don't know Sakura maybe we should wait until we have more information."

~~~ `You must not let him near -the young boy. Please he must not fight him. Not now, not yet.' ~~~
" We'll be fine we're just going to look it over."
Before Yuki could say anymore she was gone. He looked towards Nakuru to see that she was not looking at him but instead at something coming their way. He turned to see Rei heading towards them; a couple boys from school were pestering her.
--
Rei wanted to get rid of them but she wasn't sure how, she wasn't even sure why they were even bugging her. Maybe they were playing some sort of cruel joke on her like the kids at her last school did. She sighed as the young blonde asked her again to go to the movies with her. She opened her mouth to speak when someone else spoke for her.
"She can't she's already going with Yukito."
"Nani?!" They all said turning towards the voice.
Nakuru smiled sweetly glancing at Yukito telling him to try and say anything.
Rei and Yukito blushed at the same time.
"Quit lying Akizuki. I didn't hear Tsukishiro ask her anything." Said the blonde
" Yeah why should we believe you?"
" Then ask Rei and Yuki for yourselves."
"So did you ask her?"
"So did he ask you?"
Rei opened her mouth to speak when Yuki beat her to it.
"Hai I did."
He glanced over to see Rei's reaction; she was a little stunned but was blushing even more. He smiled before turning back to the boys.
"Is it true Tasogare? Did he already ask you out?"
Rei peeked at him from under her bangs the blush darkening even more. Why did they keep doing this to her why did they always have to mess with her like this.
"A-"
> Ring <
" Were late for class!" Nakuru shouted as she grabbed Rei's hand and pulled her towards school.
--
Rei was sitting down in class waiting for the bell to ring signaling lunch. She still blushed a little whenever she though of that morning.
`Why did Nakuru have to say that? It was a lie, but then why did Yukito have to go along with it? Yukito he's so nice and kind and handsome, he kind of reminds me of someone but I can't quiet remember who.'
Rei was lost in her musing that she missed the bell it wasn't until a hand tapped her lightly on the shoulder. She jumped a little but turned around when she heard a light laugh.
"The bell has already rung, you're going to miss lunch Rei."
Yukito he was standing behind her his hand resting on her shoulder and a smile on his face. She gazed around the room to find it completely empty save for herself and him.
"Gomen I didn't hear it ring."
"It's alright. Come on lets go meet up with Touya and Nakuru."
Yuki started towards the door but stopped when Rei called to him.
"Um…Tsukishiro?"
" Yukito."
"Hun?"
" We're friends, ne? So call me Yukito or Yuki."
Rei lowered her eyes and blushed slightly if she would have kept her gaze up she would have noticed Yuki blushing slightly too.
"Ano..Yukito-san, Arigoto."
When he didn't answer and looked a little lost Rei decided to elaborate.
" Arigoto for..ano..helping me out this morning. It was very nice of you to go along with Akizuki's tale."
"Who said I was going along with her?"
He left Rei standing in the middle of the room a little stunned. He was waiting outside a smile playing on his lips as he waited for her. She came out a couple minutes later.
They walked to where Touya and Nakuru were neither one saying a word.
"So ahiru what unfortunate girl is going to the festival with you?"
"What's it to you Akizuki?"
"I have to warn the poor girl don't I? It would be cruel to send her to you unprepared for the worst, wouldn't it?"
Touya glared at her but she just grinned and laughed running over to Rei when she spotted them leaving him to growl in frustration.
" Is she torturing you again?"
Yuki wasn't sure but he thought he heard him mumble something about baka guardians and brainless girls; he sat down and began to eat his lunch.
Touya was about to ask Yuki what happened that morning because of rumors he had heard, however before he could speak Nakuru's voice caught their attention.
"Rei!"
They turned around to see a pained expression on the young girls face just as she clutched her head and fell to her knees. Yuki raced over to her while Touya ran to get the nurse.
"Rei are you alright?"
Rei just cried out and clutched her head even more curling up into a small ball. Nakuru and Yuki were beside her trying to figure out what was wrong.
" Nakuru what happened?"
"I don't know we were talking about festival when she toppled over clutching her head."
Yuki reached out towards her but stopped when she cried out again this time falling forward passing out from the pain.
