It had been about four weeks since then and in that time three more incidents have occurred and each time the inky blobs were there along with the shadowy figure. An each time when it looked like Li was in need of help the creature or `Akuma' as the shadowy figure called it appeared to protect Li.

They still were unsure what the shadow was after but they knew it had something to do with Li, for the shadow seemed to purposely lure him out just to attack.

Sakura and Meiling thought it best if Kero or Yue were always with him just incase, but Li refused saying he did not need to be babysat. However Sakura sent Kero to watch him anyways.

Another incident came about when Sakura and her friends were shopping for the Autumn festival. They had stopped to get something to eat when they ran into Rei.

She was carrying a small package and looked like she was having trouble getting rid of some admirers.

"Come on baby!"

"Yeah it'll be fun cutie. Just say yes and you'll have a great time."

"We'll show you how to have fun."

Rei just backed up and shook her head no before trying to leave again only to be stopped.

"Sorry but we ain't taking no for answer."

"Hey leave her alone. She doesn't want to go with you bakas."

They boys turned to see who was challenging them only to find a kid about eleven or twelve glaring at them.

"You have to be kidding me?"

"This is a joke right?"

"Go home kid this ain't nothing to do with you."

"I. Said. Leave. Her. Alone." He growled out again this time his eyes flashing gold amber.

"Please kid don't make me laugh."

Rei at this point was trying to get away only to be blocked by one of the guys. She really didn't like this. Why did everyone have to pick on her? Why did they feel the need to single her out?

" Onegai, Onegai leave him alone."

"So she speaks after all."

"Wonder if I can make her do it again?"

The older boys smiled and turned around swinging his fist intending to strike the young boy but he missed and ended up stumbling forward instead. Angry he went again but Li was too quick and just dodged it.

The three boys circled Li while the other one held onto Rei. They were about to attack when they were stopped by a very cold voice.

Rei turned to see Yukito standing there with Touya beside him.

"It's not nice to pick on children and young woman." Said Touya

"I would suggest you let her go and leave before you get hurt."

They glanced at the two boys, the one with dark hair seemed ready to pound them any second. But he wasn't whom they were worried about; it was the boy with the glasses who held a very eerie smile. His eyes were a piercing ice blue and his voice held and edge to it. They backed away from the kid and the other one let go of the girl.

"Eh, it ain't even worth it."

That said they left. Rei bent down to pick up her package only to jump when she felt someone touching her wrist. It was the young boy, Li.

"Are you ok? Did they do anything to you?"

"Iie, I'm fine."

She noticed him frown and she followed his gaze to the black and blue marks on her wrist. She bit her lip blushing slightly that someone cared about her well-being.

Yukito turned back to Rei only to find that Li had beaten him to it. He was inspecting her wrist. It was bruised and puffy but that seemed to be the only thing that was wrong.

Sakura and the others came up to see what the matter was. After a little cover up by Touya and Li and Yukito just nodding in agreement the girls seemed to by it.

"Why don't you join us?" Sakura asked Rei

"Ano...I don't think-"

"I agree, you should come have lunch with us." Said Yukito

"Well.."

"Great come on!"

Meiling grabbed her good hand and pulled her towards the table where they sat down again. After everyone ordered and sweat dropped by how much Rei ordered. She seemed to be able to eat just as much if not more food then Yukito.

"Wow she sure can eat a lot." Said Sakura

"Yeah almost as much as Yuki." Said Tomoya as she held up her camera

When everyone was done and after the two bottomless pits finished eating they decided to go back to shopping for festival outfits.

" Why don't you come with us Rei?" sakura asked

"Yeah you can help us look for dresses and find one for yourself." Said Tomoya still filming everybody

"Arigoto but I already have a dress for the festival."

"Really?"

"Uh hun." She said and held up the package.

"Can we see it?" the three girls asked

Rei bit her bottom lip and a faint blush crept over her cheeks.

"…"

The girls looked like they were going to say more but were interrupted by someone calling to them. They turned to see Eriol and Nakuru heading towards them.

"Hi guys!" Nakuru said bouncing up to them, grinning she slid up to Touya " Hi ahiru." She said before jumping on him and ruffling his hair.

" Damare-yo."

" Hello."

"Hi Eriol. What are you doing here?"

"We came to get outfits for the festival." Said Nakuru

"Wonderful." Said Touya as he rolled his eyes trying to pry Nakuru off him.

"Hey where's Rei? I thought I saw her here with you guys?" asked Nakuru

"She was right here?"

They looked around but it seemed that she had given them the slip.

Rei was walking home unaware of a pair of eyes watching her from across the street.

`You can try and hide all you want from him but in the end you are only serving what destiny has ordained.'

A figure stood up top of Tokyo tower the crescent moon hanging in the sky behind them. Its huge black wings spread out before it leapt off its perch and took to the sky.

`I should not have come. I seem to be only causing problems for you master. However I am unable to leave you after I have finally found you again'

The figure dipped down only to catch a gust of wind and climb higher into the night sky.

`Now that he has found you I am afraid for you my master. You may have to call upon the past once again and destroy the life you have now. I can not allow your happiness to be shattered.'

The figure's wings snapped closed and it plummeted to the earth where in the last second its wings shot open just as it grazed the treetops. It raced past the trees until the edge of the park appeared and it spiraled up along side a near by building.

` I shall stay to protect you master. I will stay in the darkness to protect the light you deserve.'

The figure climbed higher into the sky until its wings burst open and it stopped hovering above the city its tail twitching back and forth slightly.

`I will watch over you, my master.'

"Did you hear something?"

"Iie. Now go to bed already Li. I'm meeting Sakura and Tomoya tomorrow and I need sleep!"

Li watched as his cousin went back inside her room closing the door. He turned back towards the open window staring out at the night sky. He was certain he had heard someone calling him.

It was faint but it was still there, he wasn't sure but the voice sounded kind of sad. He frowned slightly before nodding his head. He grabbed his sword and snuck out the bedroom window glancing back only once before jumping down and running off.

Wei watched as his young ward disappeared into the night a serious expression on his face. Maybe it was time for his mother to pay the young boy a visit and tell him the whole truth of his destiny.

The figure was crouched down leaning over a small pond gazing down at the reflection below. A scowl graced the creatures face before it splashed the still surface making it ripple scattering the image across the mirrored night sky.

A sad sigh escaped the creature's lips as it stood up its tail moving slightly back and forth.

" Who are you."

It wasn't a question more like a demand and Li wasn't going to let this creature get away until he found out what was going on.

He watched as it grew ridged its tail stilling as it stood there for a few seconds before it started to walk away.

"Answer me."

The creature stilled its tail twitching every so often signaling it was actually listening.

`It cannot be. How did he find me? He should not be here, please master go home.'

Li's head jerked up his eyes widening slightly before narrowing dangerously his sword pointing at the creature.

"What did you just say?"

"…"

"What did you call me? Who are you and what is that other one after?"

"…"

" Tell me now!"

Li lunged forward but the creature jumped out of the way hovering only a few feet above him.

"…"

Li stood there looking up at the creature unable to understand what it meant. He watched as it flew away into the sky disappearing like all the other times.

The creature was sitting down atop of Tokyo tower the moon behind it cradled in the stars above. It was looking at the moon longingly unaware of the other figure coming up behind.

" I am not sure who you are yet. However I am curious as to why you are helping the young boy."

Startled the creature fell off its perch tumbling a couple feet before regaining it composure and flying back up to see who had snuck up on her.

Yue could somewhat make out the creature. It had short almost boyish hair with long bangs, its pointy ears sticking out with a small hoop on the right ear. It wings that seemed to resemble a bats were actually more closely related to a dragons.

It was also a she from its figure; however what he couldn't tear his eyes away from was her tail. It was hanging down behind her swing back and forth rather quickly. Before he could move the creature had taken off trying to escape him.

Yue only smirked as he followed.

`So you wish to run? Very well.'

She glanced behind to see that the tenshi was no longer following her. She smiled and turned back around only to yelp in surprise when a pair of amused ice blue eyes were staring at her. She frowned as she whirled around and plummeted towards the streets below.

She could feel the tenshi behind her then nothing; curious she glanced back to find him gone. Slightly surprised she slowed down only to slam into something hard. Backing up she looked to see what she hit.

Ice blue eyes laughing at her. Growling she flew away again flying as fast as she could. She ended up in the park again hiding in the trees shadows and out of breath. He was nothing if not persistent and it annoyed her. Taking off yet again she veered in and out of the trees trying to loose him but not succeeding too well.

He was impressed by how fast she was and how good. However it seemed her emotions were getting the better of her. She was flying in and out of the trees trying her best to loose him. He smirked before disappearing into the night sky.

She glanced behind her to see no one there but she didn't stop until she was sure no one was there and when she did she didn't sit still. She flitted back and forth her tail twitching impatiently.

Letting out a small sigh she turned around only to yell out in surprise as a pair of ice blue eyes were gazing at her yet again.

She didn't run this time but only floated for a second before descending to the earth. Yue following her shortly wondering what she was up to. They landed on the ground both their wings disappearing. He waited for her to speak but when it was clear she was not going to talk or step forward he gave an irritated growl.

" I will not ask again."

She backed up the shadows covering up more of her face and body almost as if they were swallowing her up. Her tail swung back and forth showing her nervousness.

"You must not let him near -the young boy. Please he must not fight him. Not yet, not now."

She said as she glanced up at the moon, it was just a pale sliver in the sky the darkness consuming the light. In a few more days it will be a new moon and the light will be completely gone until the next cycle.

"Why not? And who are you to either one?"

" I cannot say."

"Then why will you not show yourself?"

"An akuma does not deserve to be seen by a tenshi."

That said she faded away into the shadows and darkness so Yue was left alone with her words.

Yelan was gazing out the window letter in hand deep in thought. The bickering of her daughters interrupted her.

" Pack."

She told them before walking out of the room; squeals of delight could be heard as the girls raced to their rooms to back so they could see their brother again and his kawaii friends.
