So… In this chapter, you will meet the characters… Yep… please review if you think it's a good idea… OK??? Oh… and this is placed… in an earlier time. And this is in England… yep…

A thin girl carefully polished the large square tiles of the dining room. She was a mere servant, and nothing more. But she wanted to be more.

Her name was Daidouji Tomoyo. She had long beautiful black curls and serene amethyst eyes, sparkling like crystals. She was a quiet and reserved servant, at the famous all girls' boarding school, Finishing School of London.

"Tomoyo!" the headmistress shrieked. "You aren't done with the floors yet!!!!"

Tomoyo timidly scurried to the headmistress and murmured, "I beg you for forgiveness, Headmistress Bishop."

"Hurry up, or I'll box your ears, Tomoyo!!!" Headmistress Bishop yelled, quite unladylike.

Tomoyo rushed in polishing. She knew that a family was thinking about sending their daughter to the finishing school, and wanted to observe the school.

There was a loud knock at the door, and the headmistress rushed. "Oh, hello… Is that your angel daughter, there?" she asked.

The kind man nodded. "Yes… I might enroll my daughter to this school. I will be moving around, quite a bit, you see… And… that is a terrible life for such a young girl…"

"Oh, daddy…" the girl pouted.

She was Kinomoto Sakura. She had short copper curls, and bright green eyes, full of energy. She was the sweet fifteen-year-old daughter to Kinomoto Fujitaka, an archaeologist.

"And my son, Touya, is at the university…" he explained.

"Ah…" the headmistress nodded. "Well, I'll give you a grand tour of this moderate school…"

Tomoyo flopped down on the scarcely solid bed. "Oh… mother, if only you were still alive…" she whispered. "If only headmistress weren't my relative… my guardian…"

Tomoyo could still remember. She had only been twelve-three years ago…

~flashback~

"Where's my mommy?" Tomoyo demanded.

The meek maid just nodded sympathetically. `Poor thing… she doesn't know yet…' she thought.

The doctor came out. "She is in serious medical condition… I'm afraid that she will not live…" the doctor informed.

"Where's my mommy???" Tomoyo demanded persistently.

"Does she have any relatives?" the doctor asked.

"Oh… a second cousin…" the maid murmured.

"Hmm… well, the child must go see her aunt… her mother will probably die… tonight…" the doctor planned.

The maid nodded obediently. "Tomoyo, dear…" she began. "Umm… your mother went to heaven… a better place… and you will need to visit your second cousin…" she said.

~end of flashback~

Tomoyo shifted her position, restless.

~flashback~

The clip-clop of the horse was monotonous.

Tomoyo was finally there… at last… She looked out and saw a prettied young girl.

"Hello… I'm Tomoyo… And you must be Elizabeth…" Tomoyo began, holding her hand out.

Elizabeth had long curls of rich dark chocolate brown-black and clear sky blue eyes. She was dressed in a prim and pretty dress, very proper with no wrinkles.

"Ugh!! Get your hand away, you dirty beggar!" Elizabeth furiously said, slapping Tomoyo's hand.

"Well…" the elderly woman said. "You must be the selfish, dirty, and ungrateful oaf stupid Sonomi sent to me after she died… Hmph! Why are you wearing that dress? It's not proper for what you'll be doing. Now get out of it and into the servant's uniform!"

Tomoyo later found out that she was Headmistress Bishop…

~end of flashback~

Tomoyo stared out the simple window. She liked gazing at the dark midnight blue sky that covered the sky, sprinkled with the dusty, sparkling, shimmering, and twinkling stars up above.

"Is that where heaven is, mama? Is that a better place than this rather retched place?" Tomoyo questioned, using her Japanese. "Oh mommy… are you restless tonight? Shall I sing to you?"

Tomoyo waited for an answer patiently.

Meanwhile, on a grand feather bed, Sakura sat comfortably.

"Oh starry night. What do you hold for me? Will father ever be back? Soon? Oh…" Sakura already missed her father, but she knew that she still had her brother-through their arguments, they still loved each other.

Sakura paused, gazing at the magical sky. Suddenly, a lovely voice sang in her native language-Japanese…

Sakura listened quite contently, swallowing the goodness of the music. "This is certainly the music of angels… so soft, lovely… so beautiful… Quiet, and triumphant-magnificent. I wonder… who's singing???" Sakura gasped as the echoing song stopped.

Quietness filled the air.

And up above, at the top of the school, Tomoyo sat with content.

She could still remember the happy days she used to have… having flute lessons, piano lessons, dance lessons, singing lessons… She could remember her nice governess… She remembered sewing so many things…

"Those were the good days… That was the past…" Tomoyo told herself.

*

"Hello…" the girl with dark hair and blue eyes greeted. "I'm Elizabeth Bishop… And you are?" she asked haughtily.

"I am Kino-Sakura Kinomoto… So… what kind of things do you like doing in spare time?" Sakura asked curiously.

"Oh… nothing much… some reading… embroidery… practicing my violin…" Elizabeth said proudly. "How about you?"

"Oh… me? I don't read a whole lot… but I liked to cook… sometimes I just walk around… I dunno…" Sakura thought aloud. "Anyways…"

Elizabeth stared at Sakura. "Cooking is a servant's job!" she blurted.

"Maybe… Anyways… I like writing to my friends…" Sakura said thoughtfully.

Tomoyo walked into the room. Always, for breakfast, she served.

Sakura noticed Tomoyo enter the room. "Who is that?" she asked.

"Oh… that's just a nobody… she's an oaf, so clumsy!" Elizabeth answered.

"What's her name?" Sakura asked persistently.

"Tomoyo… Gosh, why would it matter? We just call her Jap servant and she comes! Just like a little obedient dog…" Elizabeth insulted.

Sakura smiled. She walked over to Tomoyo. "Hi… I'm Kinomoto Sakura… You're from Japan, also? I am, too…" she said quietly in her native language.

Tomoyo smiled back timidly. "Yes… I'm from Japan… I'm Daidouji Tomoyo…" she politely conversed.

"We'll meet again?" Sakura asked pleasantly.

Tomoyo merely nodded. Can I trust her? Maybe, she thought.

Sakura smiled. She'd catch up with Tomoyo later. `Could she be? Was she the girl singing?' she thought privately.

Elizabeth stared. "What did you say to that… dirty girl???" she demanded.

"Huh?" Sakura was caught in surprise. "She was… sweet…" Sakura praised. "Besides… I miss my old country… I miss Japan…" she said thoughtfully.

*

Sakura scrounged her courage. "Headmistress… um… I would like to ask a favor… Could… could Tomoyo become my private maid, instead???"

Headmistress Bishop was taken aback. "Oh… of course, dear child…" she said. `Why would she want that oaf?' she privately thought. `Oh well… her father pays good money, and I shouldn't disappoint her…' "Of course… I'll make that change… Tomoyo will join you tomorrow… tomorrow…" Headmistress Bishop decided.

"Thank you…" Sakura quickly shuffled out the room.

Was it good??? Please review!!!!
