Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Foreign exchange students ❯ Finding things out...the hard way ( Chapter 3 )
Meanwhile on the bus
Two very slim looking girls climbed out of the bus, Sammy wearing black pants with a black belly-shirt, her hair had just been cut to her ears, so she just wore a headband in her hair. Her make-up was a little pink with a tint of blue; her earrings were looped with little flower designs up and down. Mia was wearing a white mini skirt with blue flowers, her blouse matching perfectly. Her hair was put up into a French twist; she wore mascara that was blue, and blue eye shadow. And blue rose earrings with a touch of white in them. Both girls were giggling about something.
Sammy: Are you sure? I didn't even think that he would-(Seeing Chris suddenly shuts up)
Chris: (Smelling both of their perfumes mixed together begins to feel sick)
Mia: Oh, sorry about that, but he did tell us he loved the perfume, so we have our reasons for wearing them. Why are you wearing those glasses?
Chris: (Doesn't get who the girls were talking about, until a sudden rush of shivers engulfs him. They were talking about Mia's older brother who had just died that winter, in a car crash. That car crash had nearly killed them all. But he couldn't think about that, it was too sad even to want to think of. Much too sad.) Well for info he bought them for me! Just like he bought you two your perfumes! You know he asked-(No! he couldn't say her name! She had also died in that crash)
Girls: (just stare blankly at each other! They all had cried too many of the tears of sadness. They were just getting to talking about the people that had died. But even this was too much! Too much for anyone to handle.)
Syaoran: (Senses the tension between all of them) Um…how about some shopping to ease our minds? Huh?
Sammy: I'm sure that would be great! Just great! (Pushes the bad memory out of her mind even before it comes back, back into reality.)
Mia: (Smiles a weak smile. No matter how hard she would try her smile would still show her sadness and pain) I'm for sure of it, what about you, Chris?
Chris: Why not?
They all head for a couple of "the best stores ever" as Syaoran has told them all. But all of them still feel a little sad. Even Syaoran, even if his sadness is much different.
About an hour after the endless shopping spree everyone is tired and willing to leave.
Mia:(carying at least a dozen bags and shoe boxes) Wow, I didn't think anyone could buy that much things in two hours! Why did you buy so many things Sammy?
Sammy: (looking at Mia, who is holding a lot of her things) Because, you hardly bought anything!
Everyone began to laugh. Somehow Syaoran felt more calm with these people. They all seemed more like friends then customers. He knew that they would all fit in with Touya and Sakura.
Tomoeda that same day
The Mayor was heading into trouble, all the exchange students belongings (witch included beds, dressers, and other boxes that smelled like flowers, candles, or the occasional vanilla scent), had just come in, and from the looks of it, more were coming. He had to think fast, so he held another one of his "meetings", (more like bore fests, as Touya called them).
Mayor: (Looking about as red as possible) We are going to have our "drawing!" So we need to make sure that everyone that can enter has entered! Did you enter for your father Touya? I know he is away for this month, but that doesn't mean that your family can just sit around with an empty room. We have to get that room filled!
Touya: (About to pop) Right after I called him I entered! (Feeling the erg to punch the Mayor, even if he hadn't done anything to Sakura, in fact he wouldn't do anything to Sakura!)
Mayor: (Looking satisfied, begins to talk) Do to…Uh…a small problem we have all of the student's things, but no students! So it is time to see who will get them! (Looks at Touya, starting to be nicer, whispers) Sorry, but I talked to your father, the last brawl you got into was the last straw for him. I have to punish you myself until he gets back! (Picking up the tin with "girls" written on it.) The leader's name is Mia Samson. Miss Samson goes to the (Opening paper gasps) the…Kinomoto family!
Sakura: WHAT? But…that room has been empty for three years!
Touya: (in Sakura's ear) Shut up! Well talk to dad later!
Mayor: The next girls name is Samantha Harting. Miss Harting goes to the (opens the other paper) Daidouji family. (His voce became dry, he seemed a little tiered and full of stress) and the guys name is Chris Smith. Mr. Smith goes to (opens the paper, and shakes his head) Yamazaki Takashi.
Takashi: (wasn't paying any attention suddenly popped his head up) What? I wasn't even entered! It's not even my house! Who? Why? How dare that person?
Mayor: Sorry Takashi, but you live in a house with three empty rooms, we needed more people to enter, and we, as in my family thought that as long as you were only entered to get the guy Chris, that you wouldn't mind!
Takashi: (at the mayor, with a blank stare) Let me guess, you don't care, do you?
Mayor: Oh, I care. Care that his things get put into a room, and that he fits in here, in Tomoeda. (Turns around to talk to the movers that had come to move the student's belongings into the houses that they would stay at)
Touya: Hey, don't worry. Everything will be fine. I mean, if you need any help, we will be next door.
Takashi: (Begins to calm down) I'm sure that you will be there when I need you guys, thanks.
About an hour later Sakura and Touya watch the movers try not to scrap the walls as the carry boxes up the long narrow stairs.
Movers: (Stopping in front of a closed door. Looking at Sakura, who is still holding the key that hadn't even came close to the door in three long years)
Sakura: (gently opening the room, the reason for not opening the room was a little hard to talk about, but nevertheless Sakura hadn't opened the door since the day she had gotten a letter from him, she sat on the window sill of the empty room to read the letter, and from that day on she never dreamed of entering the room, for she had found out that Syaoran's father had died, that kind man had died and she didn't know, until a year later. Tears were welling in her eyes as she saw the room, now covered with at least a layer of dust) Just sit the boxes down, I'll get to them later.
Movers: (nodded there heads and did as they were told)
After all the movers were gone Sakura got to work, she slowly dusted, vacuumed and aired out the stuffy room.
Touya: (seeing how hard his sister was working decided to do something nice for her. He crept up the stairs to the room that was now bright blue and cherry looking, knocking lightly) Sakura, here have some warm tea, it will make you feel better!
Sakura: (taking the cup of warm tea in her hands, looks up at her big brother) thanks Touya! I'm done anyway, so I could have made it myself!
Touya: No, you did my work. So I owed you one!
Sakura: (smiling up at her brother) your great bro.
Sakura soon retires to her room, to fall into a dreamless sleep, as Touya stays awake pacing the silent house.
