Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Memories of Emptiness ❯ the dream about an angel ( Chapter 1 )
AUTHOR'S NOTES:
Here's the deal. Sakura was the one to seal the void card, not Syaoran. If you don't like it so far, pwease don't give the wittle author a bad e-mail… Which, by the way, you can reach me at strange_marshen_girl@yahoo.com. That is, if you want to e-mail me. Now back to the plot. When Sakura seals the card all her dearest feelings (the ones she has for Syaoran) are taken away from her. If you don't like it, there's nothing you can do about it, and something I can do about it, which I most likely won't. Yes, I know. I'm very stubborn. This story takes place 6 years later. Oh, and I do apologize, but there I don't think there will be much dialog if any until chapter one. Lets get on with the show folks.
Memories Of Emptiness (Prologue)
Syaoran lay sleeping as peacefully as possible in his large, king-sized bed when having the worst nightmare of your life. He had been tossing and turning all night long all because of this dream he's been having for the past week. If you were to see him while he was awake you'd see the dream had caused him a great lack of sleep and a deprived appetite.
***Dream***
Syaoran found himself in a somewhat familiar schoolyard. That's when realization hit; this was the Sejoi High Campus in Tomeoda. He walked aimlessly about seeing teenagers everywhere on the grounds apparently on lunch break. Although it was a cheery atmosphere something dismal tugged at the edge of his senses. The kind of senses you only had from much experience and magic.
There was a flash of brilliant light followed by the scenery of a rooftop around him. He spotted the figure of a girl looking over the side. She was dangerously close to falling but she didn't seem to care. Her back was facing him on the now misty rooftop and beautifully curled, auburn tresses flowed down her back.
He was about to call out to the girl when he noticed her aura; an aura that suggested great sorrow and mishap had taken place in the girl's life. `No, not only mishap and sorrow,' he thought to himself with a great pang. One that vibrated with pity? No, guilt. He continued his thoughts as the guilt grew to an insurmountable size, `but that the world had not been merciful to this girl when she pleaded for it to. That it had taken advantage of terrible things and used against the girl.'
Then he felt another part of this girl's aura. The part that told him, "Even when life turns for the worst I will keep myself happy. I won't let the sadness show in my face." But that was not all he found in her aura that was seemingly as open and readable as a book that spelt out every detail clearly.
The next part of her aura made his heart beat quickly and him to break out in a cold sweat. Her aura next told him she was sweet and innocent as a three year old. That, even though the world had been cruel to her she was unprejudiced and open to new ideas. That she would accept people for who they were and not for what they appeared to be. That she was the first to smile and befriend the new students, that she possessed the heart of a saint, that she had a mind fool of not only wit and intelligence, but also hopes, and dreams, and sadly more loneliness than such a wonderful person should have.
"An angel," Syaoran whispered to himself. "A kindhearted, wonderful angel…" That's when the angel climbed up onto the side of the building. Now he knew what she was doing on the roof. After all that misfortune he could read just by looking at her aura he should known long before. A tear dripped from his eye surprising himself. He hadn't cried since he first left Tomeoda. `She's going to jump.' he thought.
"No," he shouted to the girl catching her attention. She turned to him but all he could see were the most magnificent, jade eyes. He had never gotten far enough into the dream to see her eyes. "Onega (please), don' jump," he whispered. Though he had barely heard his own voice he was sure she had heard quite clearly. It showed in her eyes. A small, wistful smile made its way onto her face. "Goodbye dear world, goodbye Syaoran. Both of you have haunted me far too long. Come swiftly sweet peace and grant me eternal sleep." With that said, she turned her back to Syaoran once more and leapt over the side.
Syaoran was shocked but quickly fell out of his own shock that the girl was indeed falling to her death. He ran to the ledge from which she had jumped to see the girl falling into darkness. "No…" was all he managed to say before…
****Dream over****
He woke at the foot of his bed with all his bed sheets wound tightly around him in a big jumble of knots, his blankets and pillows scattered around the room and covered in a cool, sticky sweat. He sat slowly chanting over and over: "It was just a dream, it was just a dream, it was ju-" until he was interrupted by knock that came at his door.
"Come in," he said grumpily as he always was in the morning. Wei came in and said "Master Hirrigizzawa is here on urgent business involving his successor the Card Mistress."
