11. Reunion

Sakura stayed at Yue's side for several minutes, before she suddenly realized Yue's eyes began fluttering until they finally opened up.

"Yue-chan, you're awake! Thank goodness!", she exclaimed, smiling happily.

Yue turned his head and looked at Sakura, his vision slowly clearing.

"Sakura…", he whispered, "Is it…over?"

"Yes.", Sakura answered, "Everything will be okay now."

Sakura cupped his cheek with one hand and looked deep into Yue's eyes.

"And Vaine?", Yue asked, "Is she…?"

His tone was quiet, he already knew the answer, but he wanted to hear it anyways.

Sakura sighed. "Yes…"

She seemed quite sad about this.

"I think it better like this.", Yue said, "Although I wonder if it would have been possible getting her back to the good side again. Vaine once was such a nice and lovely women."

Yue closed his eyes, remembering the kind Vaine, the one that always used to be gentle and beautiful.

"I know.", Sakura said, "But at least, her soul will find rest now."

"Yes, you are right.", Yue replied, "But…"

He hesitated.

"But what?", Sakura asked.

Yue looked at her, guilt being reflected in his eyes.

"I think I need to apologize to you. I did and said very bad things to you. I am sorry, Sakura."

Sakura just smiled at this.

"You don't have to apologize, Yue-chan.", Sakura said gently, "You weren't yourself."

"Who tells you I am now?", Yue asked, a least little touch of sarcasm in his voice.

"Well, that can be tested easily.", Sakura said and smiled.

She bent down and began kissing her moon angel. Yue sighed and responded to the kiss, putting his arms around her neck. After they broke off, Sakura moved her head lightly, so that her lips were close to Yue's right ear.

"I love you.", she whispered, which made Yue feel a slight gust of air tickle his ear.

Yue smiled (AN: *DROOL*), turned his head and placed a gentle kiss on Sakura's left cheek.

"I love you, too.", he said and hugged her tightly, never ever wanting to let her go again.

Epilogue: Not much, only that Yue and Sakura now were the perfect couple again and everything went fine. At least it will go like this until the next adventure. But if and when that will occur, still is only known by the stars. And the author (^.^)
