10. Victory

"So the plan is set.", Eriol said, standing up from the chair he was sitting on and walking around in Sakura's bedroom.

"I just hope everything will work out as we planned.", Sakura said, "We can't afford making mistakes."

"We won't make mistakes.", Eriol replied, "Everything will be alright. Ne, Sakura-chan?"

Sakura smiled. "Everything will be alright.", she repeated, "Those are the magic words."

Both Sakura and Eriol were more than ready to fight Vaine now and try to get Yue back on the sides of good. They were prepared for almost everything, and their magical energies were at their highest. And also, Cerberus was gritting his teeth and growling deeply. Now was the time! Time for the good beating the evil!

"Are you ready?", Eriol asked.

"Hai.", Sakura replied.

"More than ready.", Cerberus growled.

"Then here we go.", Eriol said.

He made his staff appear and began chanting.

"Ancient forces of place and time, hear my words. I command you, bring us to where we need to be."

A wind filled the room as the magic began taking control of the surroundings. The wind grew heavier each second and was finally strong enough to lift the three beings up into a whirl of magic that was located at the ceiling of the room. As all three had entered, the whirl began to disappear slowly. A few seconds later, a whirl similar to the one in Sakura's bedroom began forming in Vaine's hideout. Both Vaine and Yue recognized the intruders.

"How nice of you to come along for a visit.", Vaine said as the three landed in front of her, "But how bad you won't stay for very long."

Vaine laughed evilly and looked at the three. Yue did the same, finally focusing on Eriol.

"Now who do we have here?", he said, "Vaine, my love, we can consider ourselves as very lucky. We now have the opportunity to finish off the two most powerful magicians ever."

"Yue,", Eriol began, "how could this happen to you?"

"I'm not in the mood for small talk, Mr. Clow Read Jr.", Yue said and prepared an attack. Eriol easily blocked the ice shards with his magic.

"I can't believe you are doing this, Yue.", Sakura said, "Don't you remember anything about how good we all were to you?"

"Oh please!", Yue snorted, "As if a bit being NICE would have been enough. Pah! You don't understand anything. You're a very stupid and annoying little girl. I'll finish you off! All of you!"

He threw an attack at her, not leaving her time to react. Just in time, Cerberus reached her and blocked the attack with his wings.

"My love, it seems to me that those three there really need a lesson.", Vaine said and grinned evilly, "So we will teach them."

And so, the battle had begun. Vaine and Yue both threw heavy attacks at their opponents and Sakura, Eriol and Cerberus had a hard time blocking the attacks, weakening them or attacking on their own. After a while, the battle got a pattern. While Vaine was focused on Eriol to let him pay for what Clow had done to her, Yue went on attacking Sakura and Cerberus. Sakura still didn't feel very well about attacking Yue, and so she tried her best not to use the powerful cards. But after some time, she realized it was no use and she remembered the plan: Fight with all forces, no matter the price. Sakura used the time Yue needed to prepare another attack and used The Wood. Vines grew out of nowhere and trapped Yue. Sakura knew she had to be quick now, or else Yue would have already freed himself again. She quickly drew out two more cards, The Dash and The Sword. Her wand transformed into a sword and she rushed towards the still trapped Yue. Before she reached him, she mumbled:

"Gomen nasai, Yue-chan."

Then, she thrust the blade of the sword into Yue's body. Yue was already about to get free and so, the sword just cut into his side, but heavily enough to make him scream up and fall down to the ground. While Cerberus started helping Eriol with Vaine, Sakura knelt down before Yue. Slowly, she stretched out one hand, in which she was holding the silver necklace. Yue was still to weak to prevent her of putting the necklace around his neck and then embracing him. With a quivering voice, she said:

"Yue, please, there MUST be some memory of our love left in you. Please, please remember. You CAN'T have forgotten me and how happy we were together."

A tear ran down from her left eye and fell directly onto the silver crescent moon.

"Please, come back to me.", Sakura said, "I miss you."

She placed a short kiss on his forehead and then loosened her grip on Yue. She shouldn't forget that there was still another enemy to fight. She went over to the others and focused on defeating Vaine. Together, Sakura, Eriol and Cerberus fought a heavy battle against Vaine. But Vaine didn't give up so fast. She sent a large amount of dark energy flying at the group. The three shielded themselves with magic, but went some steps back at the heavy pressure of the dark energy against their shields.

Meanwhile, Yue watched the battle from a distance, seeing how Sakura was fighting along with the others. He took the silver crescent moon into his hand palm and saw Sakura's tear on it. Slowly, pictures of happy days returned to his mind, pictures of loving and being loved and pictures of all the people that had given love to him. Clow Read, Sakura, Touya. While Yue regained his true feelings, the battle went on. Yue looked up, just in time to see the three being hit by an enormous amount of Vaine's dark energy. He saw Sakura falling back and his eyes widened.

"S…Sakura", he whispered.

Gathering together all of his remaining strength, he stood up. Vaine now was right in front of him, preparing another attack. She was so busy with the battle that she didn't realize how Yue took all of his remaining power to form an arrow. With shaking legs, Yue aimed and then sent the arrow flying at Vaine.

Vaine screamed up as the energy all of a sudden hit her from behind. Eriol took the chance and sent a blast of energy at her, which finally finished her off. Sakura couldn't figure out what happened at first, but as Vaine sank limply to the ground, she could see Yue, breathing heavily, legs shaking.

"Yue-chan!", she called out.

"Sa-kura…", Was all Yue could say before he collapsed to the ground.

At once, Sakura ran over to Yue. "Yue-chan! Yue!", she called out.

"Don't worry, he will be ok.", Eriol said as he appeared at her side.

"Are you sure?", Sakura asked.

"Of course.", Eriol answered and smiled, "There is much more needed to finish Yue off. Now let us get away from here."

Once again, Eriol chanted the incarnation to transport them all back to the Kinomoto residence. Carefully, Sakura and Eriol placed Yue on his bed.

"I am glad this is all over now.", Sakura said while holding Yue's hand, "I'm glad that everything will be alright now."

"Yes,", Eriol replied, "I am very proud of you, Sakura."

"Arigato, Eriol-kun.", Sakura said, "But without your help, I couldn't have succeeded."

"If you will ever need my help again, I will do all in my powers to help you.", Eriol mentioned, "Too bad I already need to leave again."

"Nani?", Sakura asked.

"My plane will depart on one hour, so I need to go. I'm sorry I can't stay longer."

"Oh, ok.", Sakura replied, "I will come to the airport with you."

"No, Sakura-chan.", Eriol said, "You should stay here with Yue. I am sure he will appreciate seeing you when he wakes up."

Sakura looked at the unconscious angel and smiled.

"Yes, you are right.", Sakura said.

"I know.", Eriol replied and smiled broadly. Sakura and Kero sweatdropped (;-_-).

Eriol could really be a #*~'% when he wanted to. But Nonetheless, he was someone very dear to Sakura.

"So, thanks again for everything, Eriol-kun.", she said.

"Thanks too, Sakura-chan. And make sure to visit me in England soon, you'll surely like it."

"Oh yes, that would be great!", Sakura exclaimed.

"Goodbye, Sakura-chan. And remember, whatever you do, I can see you (^.~)."

And that wasn't really impossible.

Sakura smiled. "Goodbye, Eriol-kun. I hope we will meet again very soon."

"Who knows…", Eriol said and then turned.

He walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.

AN: Those busy magicians, pft! But well, look out for the last part, showing Yue's reunion with Sakura.
